Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2124: Treated Well?

Davis couldnʼt help but feel the tension and excitement despite the dangers involved in doing something like churning heavenly lightning and heavenly flame into a physique. This kind of thought process allowed him to understand why so many powerhouses died of cultivation deviation. It was because they didnʼt follow the right method and tended to follow their own while practicing as it better suits them, but little did they know that it caused them internal injuries, which later spiked in their moment of weakness.

Such scenarios could likely happen to him as Myria spoke about the dangers of creating a soul physique from reversing mutated Supreme Immortal Sigil but still, Davis couldnʼt stop imagining the heights that he would reach if he were to successfully conjure heavenly lightning and heavenly flame physique!

At that time, wouldnʼt he become equal to Myria even at the immortal level where her physique is said to show its true prowess…? Perhaps, even surpass her…?

”…”

Suddenly, Davisʼs expression couldnʼt help but become wry.

Upon a bit of introspection, he realized that he was subconsciously looking up to her and wanted to surpass her badly.

ʼWell, she did give me the first setback of being unable to win in the same stage and level that I had to resort to using Fallen Heaven...ʼ

That battle was a loss to him even though he won.

Nonetheless, he brought back his composure in a few moments, took a refined heavenly flame wisp out of Tyrieleʼs cauldron body, and shot a good look at it.

It was a fifteen-centimeter wisp, glowing with a dark crimson shine, radiating an intense destructive aura greater than the Fire Dragon, Azure Flame Kirin, and the Blazing Thunderlight Kirin.

Davis could sense the lofty aura of the heavens from it, practically oppressing him to bend his will into one of subservience. However, his sapphire eyes simply gazed at it before he turned to look at the curious Eldia.

”Eldia, do you want it?”

Eldia hurriedly shook her head with a hint of embarrassment, ”No… Iʼm full… Besides, Iʼm not a fire spirit...”

Davis couldnʼt help but smile in satisfaction as he heard her adorable voice before he turned to look at the real target.

”How about you, Tyriele?”

”Master, Iʼm afraid that I canʼt use… such… a… flame...”

Tyrieleʼs body shuddered ever so lightly, seemingly afraid that it caused Davisʼs lips to twitch.

”Alright.”

He wondered if Tyriele could use it to refine pills, but it turns out that it was too scared. However, he felt that it couldnʼt be helped. After all, the only ones whom he knew who were almost unafraid of the heavenly lightning tribulation were Myria and Eldia, for the latter was a heavenly lightning source herself.

”Iʼm sorry for being a disappointment, master.”

”Me too.”

”Eldia, you would only be killing yourself if you try to absorb heavenly flames.”

Davis turned around and pointed at Eldia, chastising her for apologizing without a need before he turned to look at Tyriele.

”Youʼre not a disappointment, Tyriele. Youʼve been a big help. Without your cauldron space, I would not be able to capture these heavenly powers, so I wondered if you could somehow tame and use them, but I shouldʼve guessed that itʼs my life energy that keeps their energy from going berserk, allowing you to control them. However, I realize that to control those heavenly flames in their raw forms is too much to ask, so you have no need to apologize.”

”Master…”

Tyrieleʼs voice shuddered, sounding like it was going to cry, ”The heat is actually unbearable inside...”

”Uh…”

Davis became flabbergasted before his expression became serious, ”Donʼt worry, Iʼll imbue you with more life energy.”

”Master!!!”

Tyriele cried out in grievance, but Davis poured a ton of Fallen Heavenʼs life energy inside, causing Tyriele to finally stop yelling as it became more comfortable, almost descending into slumber.

Davis inwardly sighed, thinking two wisps of immortal level heavenly flames were rather too much for Tyrieleʼs body, indicating her limit. After all, Tyriele didnʼt say anything while holding a single refined strand of immortal level heavenly lightning.

Nonetheless, after consoling Tyriele, he came back to the heavenly flame wisp that caused some spatial cracks to spread in a few-meter radius and sat. However, before he could close his eyes, two arms wrapped around his neck while simultaneously, he could feel two peaks pushing against his back.

This comfortable feeling caused him to blink before his pupils moved towards the right.

”Whatʼs up, Eldia?”

Her face was so close, practically touching cheeks as he could feel her prickly aura. Her sweet breath flew past his nose, allowing him to know her exquisite fragrance. She had a distinct scent coming off from her, one that he would instinctively recognize as noble and untouchable, for she was sacred because her fleshly body was born from heavenly lightning, free of filth and even medicinal waste cultivators regularly gathered in their body.

”Master…” Eldia meekly spoke, ”I donʼt want to hide anything from you.”

Davis raised his brows, ”Is this about important matters?”

”Yes,” Eldia answered seriously, causing Davis to understand that it should be about heavenly tribulation.

Perhaps, Eldia has figured out something about heavenly tribulation that he couldnʼt perceive.

”Master, I loved it when you carried me before. My heart was pounding for no apparent reason that I felt afraid, but it felt good and comfortable.”

”…”

”However, Iʼve seen you do the same to Iesha, who doesnʼt even have a pact with master. I… I want to be treated the same but master never holds me. Am I not worthy…?”

”…”

Davis realized that it wasnʼt the important matters he was thinking about halfway as he listened to Eldiaʼs important matters. He knew that she had a bit of rivalry with Iesha, but he didnʼt know that she was this bothered enough to think that he wasnʼt treating her as good as he treated Iesha.

However, he couldnʼt help but feel a bit angry.

”Eldia, between you and Iesha, who do you think is stronger?”

”Me…” Eldia couldnʼt help but blink.

”Then you have your answer.”

He was precisely angered because Iesha was still lagging, while on the other hand, Eldiaʼs increase in prowess was so large that she left Iesha in the dust. How was he not treating her right?

”Master, no…” Eldiaʼs eyes became tearful, ”I canʼt explain it properly, but I feel like Iʼm being… distanced...”

”…”

Davisʼs expression froze, causing him to take a breath.

”Itʼs true, your feelings.” A sigh of relief escaped from his mouth, ”I keep you distanced because I donʼt want to fall for your charming personality and seductive body. You donʼt even know what love is, what a physical relationship is, so how can I take advantage of you?”

”But…” Eldia looked confused before she clamored, ”I can give my life for you, master!”

”That…” Her ardent care for him caused him to wryly smile, ”Iʼm pleased to hear that but still, giving your life for your master is also something a loyal servant would do. The kind of thing youʼre expecting is something a woman in love would give for a man and vice versa, and thatʼs the relationship I have with Iesha. As for you, we have not reached that stage yet.”

”Then… then… when would we reach that stage…?”

Eldia bit her lips as she seemed distressed, causing Davis to feel some ache as he raised his hand and wiped her tears that shone like a sparkling diamond.

”Donʼt cry...”

However, he was truly put in a spot before an idea lit up in his mind.

”Iʼll consider it if we reach the third level of the Intramural Prismatic Soul-Spirit Pact, okay?”

”Third level…? Mhm~”

Eldiaʼs expression became full of life as getting to the third level in the Prismatic Intramural Soul-Spirit Pact was one of her ultimate goals. After all, it would mean that she and Davis would be closer than ever. However, she came out of her reverie when she heard Davisʼs voice again.

”You also have a soul connection with me rather than Iesha, no?”

”Yes!”

”So, whoʼs being treated well?”

”Me!”

Eldia happily smiled, seemingly in a good mood as she let him go and stood up, skipping away from him.

Davis felt that she was such a kid while pursing his lips, understanding that he couldnʼt taint her pure heart that wished good for him and happiness for herself.

A few minutes later, he finally adjusted his mental state and began absorbing the heavenly flame wisp little by little.

Davis still didnʼt stabilize his Essence Gathering Cultivation.

He let it remain loose and rampant for a while as he sent tiny wisps of heavenly flames to his lower dantian, intending to feel and comprehend them at his energy source. If it werenʼt for his life energy protecting him while his lower dantian had become extremely powerful from absorbing heavenly lightning, he wouldnʼt do something so dangerous.

At the same time, a derisive smirk couldnʼt help but appear on his lips as he shot a brief look at the skies.

”Now then, letʼs see what youʼll send as a punishment for making a mutated Supreme Immortal Fire Rune...”
