Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2114: Dalilaʼs Potential?

”…”

Davis blinked before he smiled, ”Of course, Iʼll help.”

”Then that decides it.”

Ellia cheekily giggled before glancing at Dalila, ”Till what level did you reach in the Thousand Pill Palaceʼs Emperor Grade Immaculate Alchemist Exam?”

”What do you mean?”

Davis sounded curious while Dalila pursed her lips before opening her mouth, ”Third level...”

”As I thought.”

”Mhm. I heard you took the Immaculate Alchemist Exam, so what level did you reach?”

”Me?” Elliaʼs expression became amused, ”I reached the fifth and the highest level that one could reach in that formation.”

”…!”

Dalilaʼs mind reeled as she blandly smiled.

She knew that if someone reached the third level of the Thousand Pill Palaceʼs Emperor Grade Immaculate Alchemist Exam Formation, theyʼd be considered to have passed. As for what their existence entailed, they were considered alchemy genius enough to dominate their peers because of their ability to recall blemishless knowledge of the ingredients and the concoction process, allowing them to create Advanced-Tier Pills without a problem even if they hadnʼt tried their hands on it.

However, for Ellia to have passed the fifth level, where did that put her in this place full of gifted swans and ardent phoenixes? The pride that allowed her to slightly mingle with them because she passed that extremely difficult exam came crashing down like an avalanche.

”Well, donʼt worry.”

Looking at Dalilaʼs expression churn a tad bit sadder, Ellia wryly smiled, ”The reason I passed the fifth level is because of my vast knowledge. There were even questions about ingredients that have never appeared here in the Fifty-Two Territories, making it impossible to clear the fourth and fifth levels. But you passed the third level at such an age and with so little knowledge, but the latter is accounted for as the third level requires you to answer no more than ten ingredients and those ten random ingredients happened to be well within the scope of the Fifty-Two Territories. Still, what you accomplished was nothing short of calling you an alchemy prodigy.”

”Thereʼs no need to console me.” Dalila shook her head as she returned the dry smile, ”Iʼm prepared to give it my all or die trying regardless.”

Davis glanced at Dalila as he inwardly nodded his head to her words.

”Iʼm not consoling you.” Ellia shook her head, ”Iʼm telling the truth. You truly do have the potential to comprehend Immaculate Alchemy Laws.”

”…?”

Dalilaʼs smile faded, replaced with bewilderment. However, Davisʼs mouth went slightly agape.

”Is that also a Phyletic Law?”

”Yes.” Ellia nodded, ”Didnʼt Myria say that Phyletic Laws exist in all beings and for humans that it is Enigmatic Heart Laws? In the same way, the artifact spirits of Cauldrons also possess this Phyletic Law known as Immaculate Alchemy Laws. For sword spirits, itʼs called Imposing Sword Laws. But like us humans, not any cauldron could comprehend their Phyletic Laws and some races never managed to unlock their Phyletic Laws. We shall not talk about that but Dalila.”

She returned to the topic at hand and gazed at Dalila.

”Even if I say she has the potential, passing the third level only meant that she had like a ten percent chance to comprehend Immaculate Alchemy Laws, but before that, she needs a connection with a cauldron has managed to comprehend Immaculate Alchemy Laws. Donʼt you see sword cultivators who have comprehended Sword Laws? If they possess a sword that has comprehended Imposing Sword Laws, then they wonʼt have to rely on comprehending by themselves anymore, although that is the case if the sword spirit is truly talented and has no bottleneck.”

”However, even the Emperor Sword Sectʼs Soaring Emperor Sword didnʼt possess Imposing Sword Laws, so you can truly see how difficult it is to gain comprehension into Phyletic Laws the same way for Cauldrons to gain comprehension over Immaculate Alchemy Laws.”

Davis, Tina, and Dalila were in shock over Elliaʼs explanation. Coming out of his reverie, he shortly explained what Phyletic Laws are to Tina and Dalila even though he had already introduced them to them through written records by himself.

”But… I donʼt get it.” Davis turned his head to Ellia, ”How can these artifact or armament spirits share their Phyletic Laws, but we canʼt?”

He never felt like he could share Enigmatic Heart Laws with others or Nadia or Eldia, who was bound to him through their souls.

”Of course, the requirement is that you have comprehended similar Laws. To comprehend Imposing Sword Laws, you have to have comprehended Sword Laws. As for Enigmatic Heart Laws, itʼs our Phyletic Law, so thereʼs no requirement of that sort. Following this rule and exception, to comprehend Immaculate Alchemy Laws, one must have to comprehend the essence of Alchemy, and that exam is nothing but a formation that tests your aptitude. Nonetheless, armament and artifact spirits being able to share their Phyletic Laws is one of the greatest mysteries of the cultivation world. Why donʼt Prince Davis reach the apex and solve it?

”Haha…”

”Still, if Sword Laws and Imposing Sword Laws exist like Heart Laws and Enigmatic Heart Laws, how come Alchemy Laws donʼt exist, as you indirectly mentioned?

Davis raised his brows, his eyes looking sharp.

”Why do you think?” Ellia raised her brows in a teasing manner.

”…”

Tina and Dalila became confused, but Davis couldnʼt help but blink as he felt like he knew the answer.

”Because itʼs suppressed by...”

”Exactly.” Ellia slightly grinned, ”Alchemy is a process of turning ordinary into extraordinary, a transmutation of properties within the ingredients. However, itʼs also something that gives birth to life, something that is unwanted by you know whom. However, can it suppress a raceʼs Phyletic Law from being unveiled? The answer is no. Thatʼs why you donʼt see Inscription Laws or Forging Laws either, having their own uniqueness blocked by some unhappy Will that suppresses its denizens with its rule.”

Dalila and Tina vaguely, no, completely realize that she was talking about the heavens while Davis felt like he understood why, his eyes flickering with a rebellious notion.

”Dalila, what I, Davis, or even Tina do is recall, but what you do is manifest from the source. Itʼs like how a magical beast uses the laws etched on its body. It doesnʼt learn but just simply knows how to use it like moving oneʼs arms and legs...”

Ellia continued teaching Dalila what she was capable of, ”That ancient formation is the elementary formation to find alchemy geniuses like you who could manifest the concoction process as though itʼs been etched into your soul.”

”Still, words are limited. No matter how many books you read and increase your knowledge, it all comes down to experience in the end. All those knowledge is there to merely guide you and confirm your findings. However, itʼs crucial that these findings come from your personal experience. Thatʼs what comprehension of Laws are for.”

Ellia shot a look at Davis, ”Just like you understood Enigmatic Heart Intent from your own personal experience, Dalila has to find that Immaculate Alchemy Intent after having a soul connection with a suitable artifact cauldron, almost becoming one with the source. Thatʼs the Elementary Intent of almost every Phyletic Law I mentioned just now.”

”One with the Heart.”

”One with the Sword.”

”One with Alchemy.”

Elliaʼs voice sounded transcending and melodious, causing all three to fall into a trance.

”Dalila, you must enter the state of One with Alchemy, the Elementary Intent of Immaculate Alchemy Laws, if you want to distinguish yourself amongst the many phoenixes here, especially your alchemy partner here.”

Ellia shot an amused glance at Tina, who shook her head before returning her gaze, ”Are you up for it?”

”Iʼm willing!”

Dalilaʼs eyes blazed with passion. The fire inside her heart seemed to have lit up her soul, causing her undulations of Fire Laws to surge out from her clenched fists.

”Good! Then do your best because this depends on yourself as I have no idea how to increase the chances of comprehending Immaculate Alchemy Laws, or I would have done it myself!”

Ellia waved her hands and shot away, leaving Dalila dumbstruck while Davis had his hands reached out, about to ask what his Level One Intent of Enigmatic Laws was named, but since she left hurriedly, he presumed that it must be urged and took his hands back.

However, he realized what Elliaʼs words entailed for Dalila and herself, that if Dalila became an immortal and came to match Myriaʼs knowledge about Alchemy in the future, then Dalila would be more knowledgeable and talented in Alchemy as long as she could comprehend Immaculate Alchemy Laws to a high level!
