Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2121: A Path Carved Open

The apocalyptic skies shuddered in rage, apparently having sensed Davisʼs blasphemous actions of plundering its heavenly flames. The skies darkened in response. Dark crimson flames surged in the clouds, gathering in the center as they formed a giant wisp of heavenly flame when it shuddered ever so lightly.

*Whisssh!~*

The heavenly flameʼs descent was almost instantaneous, quickly torching up Davisʼs body in overwhelming flames that threatened to purify his sins by turning him into ashes. However, the heavenly flame wisp met the same fate as its predecessor, blocked by heavenly lightning, tamed by life energy, and moved behind while it was in the process of transforming into a refined wisp of heavenly flames.

Looking at the comfort he possessed while doing such a trick, Davis couldnʼt help but grin.

Due to his Essence Gathering Cultivation becoming powerful with his improved heavenly lightning and Supreme Immortal Rune, Davis no longer had to worry about only using soul force to defend against the heavenly tribulationʼs attacks.

Moreover, due to the heavenly tribulation, the cracks in space had also completely been repaired. The presence of the tribulation clouds brought stability to its environment, allowing Davis to freely unleash his powers.

There was no fear of space shattering and being sent into the unknown void.

Still enraged, the tribulation clouds sent its next punisher.

The third wisp of heavenly flames fell, and with a gentle wave of his hand, Davis caught those heavenly flames within a ball of heavenly lightning in front of his palm and then administered life energy into the heavenly lightning ball, causing it to become tame again.

Looking at this scene, Eldia became utterly dumbfounded, unable to believe the might master possessed against this overbearing and lofty energy that shook her very soul.

ʼDid master not feel it...?ʼ She couldnʼt help but wonder in awe.

As for the reason why he didnʼt let it fall on his body, he wasnʼt willing to take any chances of being instantly killed because his Body Tempering Cultivation was still weaker than his Essence Gathering Cultivation and Soul Forging Cultivation.

Moreover, as a self-proclaimed master of instant kills, he knew how instant death could be, so he didnʼt take this heavenly tribulation that was full of wrath towards him lightly.

And as expected…

*Whishh!!!~*

A wisp of heavenly flame fell again, instantaneously trying to set Davis ablaze. However, his heavenly lightning surged into layers of tendrils, trapping the flames within them before it could set him ablaze. However, they were quickly igniting his strands of heavenly lightning, causing the layers of heavenly lightning to break.

”Hmph!”

Davis harrumphed in derision as he strengthened the quality of his heavenly lightning, causing each strand that formed a net to become enduring and trap the heavenly flames from searing into burning him. He had been holding back from unleashing the true power of his heavenly lightning because he didnʼt want to waste the heavenly flameʼs essence, but now it seems like he could not remain carefree.

The fourth heavenly flame wisp was at the eighth level, causing him to take a deep breath because he knew if this unexpected heavenly tribulation followed the same sequence of potential increase in prowess, then somewhere between the seventh strike and the ninth strike, the heavenly flame wisp would certainly be at the ninth level of the Ninth Stage.

Such a strike would require his utter concentration, or he knew that he would accidentally end up dead from being unable to defend in time. After all, the descending heavenly flame seemed to be as fast as a bolt of heavenly lightning.

That said, he wasnʼt worried, possessing an air of utter confidence from his body language, vastly different from the time he faced the previous heavenly tribulations. Perhaps, it could be said that he was gaining experience at a tremendous rate, and as a result, he was confident of his survivability as long as he wasnʼt light-hearted in dealing with it.

*Whishhh!~~~*

The fifth big wisp of heavenly flames and the sixth wisp naturally fell in the next six seconds, causing Davis to rapidly counter and tame them. His essence energy undulated mightily and crashed into the incoming wisps of heavenly flames before his soul force remained hard at work, rippling with intense life energy as they kept refining the heavenly flame wisps.

However, only less than half a minute had passed, and not much progress had been made in refining the heavenly flames as they kept adding up.

Nonetheless, he wasnʼt worried about that, but the next strike, the seventh strike.

*Whissh!~*

The seventh heavenly flame wisp flowed down like a meteor, except directly to the surface instead of shooting straight towards the horizons. Without a change, it directly fell on top of him. However, Davis freely alternated between using heavenly lightning to block and life energy to tame the heavenly flames like a greedy connoisseur who was cooking his delicious meat.

He could tell that this wisp was at the peak of the eighth level, which meant that he no longer had any leeway to be playing with fire anymore.

*Bzzzz!~*

Davisʼs entire body became covered in black-silver heavenly lightning, furiously crackling with immense might as they slithered around him like dragons. His soul force was ready to pounce outside like an elephant, intent on suppressing the heavenly flames into submission.

Looking above, Davis saw that the eighth strike was on the verge of completion.

*Whissh!!!~*

The heavenly flame wisp unceremoniously fell, leaving trails of wisps that kept burning the air relentlessly. If space wasnʼt strengthened here, then it wouldʼve totally collapsed for its prowess reached the eighth level of the Ninth Stage, but as it seared through the air and neared Davis, a thick strand of heavenly lightning snake swallowed them inside it and trapped.

Abruptly, the heavenly flames spread out in all directions, trying to escape. However, the heavenly lightning net strictly held them in place while its holes were being continuously being pushed with life energy, and just like that, the heavenly flame wisp that came into contact with something so gentle and pure let out a strange tremor, becoming still like a ripple-less lake.

Below, Davis stood straight with his hand pointed at the heavenly flame before he brought them back to his temporary location of storage behind his back. This heavenly flame wisp was extremely hard to suppress, but to Davis, who had already started using his Emperor Sigil, the heavenly flame wisps were much easier to deal with, although he couldnʼt refine them all without Fallen Heavenʼs help.

After all, space would become normal after the tribulation left, leaving him with a spatial bomb that could send him to the heavens.

Nonetheless, he lowered his hand before looking at the vast amount of dark crimson clouds congregating towards the center, seemingly creating something that caused his heart to palpitate.

If the heavenly tribulation experienced by his Spirit-Tier Supreme Ebbing Sigil Pill could be called a Destructive Heavenly Lightning Tribulation, then he felt that he could name this the Destructive Heavenly Flame Tribulation! Except, it was sent to punish his heavy sins of stealing heavenly lightning from the heavens and made a mutated Lightning Supreme Immortal Rune out of it!

Therefore, his base prowess at this moment was six levels above his cultivation base, and while unleashing heavenly lightning without holding back, it had almost reached seven levels above his cultivation base, nearing Myriaʼs might overall might!

At this moment, Davisʼs Essence Gathering Cultivation had surpassed his Soul Forging Cultivation! Having managed to comprehend Level Seven Abstruse Intent of Lightning Laws, he had broken the very limit Myria said that the world has kept!

After all, a human could only comprehend level Seven Abstruse Intent at the immortal level, but he had done it at the mortal level, and he could somehow tell how he managed to do it or feel how he managed to accomplish this feat.

What he comprehended was the properties of heavenly lightning, something that was probably not restricted by the heavens and able to freely maneuver to blast the denizens to ashes for opposing it.

To have comprehended such a Law meant that he was also not included in its restriction but because he broke the limit as a human, the Destructive Heavenly Flame Tribulation descended as punishment, or so Davis perceived this matter because he expected this to happen.

After all, this was the idea he conceived upon experiencing that he didnʼt gain acknowledgment from the heavens for comprehending Lighting Laws through understanding the essence of heavenly lightning!

But as expected, a dragon-like shape formed below the dark crimson tribulation clouds, causing Davis to enter a state of extreme caution because he felt that the prowess of this heavenly flame dragon could very well reach the peak of the ninth level in the Ninth Stage!

In other words, the heavenly tribulation was sending a genuinely terrifying immortal-level heavenly strike at him!
