Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2125: Absorbing Heavenly Flames

Davisʼs surroundings were scorching hot.

The island below him was scorched black, and if it werenʼt for the raging ocean below suppressing the heavenly flames from running rampant, it wouldʼve been a disaster in a regular plain with villages and towns. That said, even the raging ocean was constantly evaporating, so if he kept this up for hundreds of years, it is possible that he could cause drought to occur, almost emptying the Grand Alstreim Ocean.

Nonetheless, his inner world was occasionally filled with these tiny heavenly flame wisps, first used for tempering the meridians and the lower dantian. Further, its essence was used for comprehension, and then he stored the resulting energy from the absorption in the safety net of the mutated Supreme Immortal Lighting Rune instead of being used for a breakthrough.

In fact, he felt that he was going to find it difficult to endure breaking through, but he did his best, keeping his Essence Gathering Cultivation suppressed at the peak of the Mid-Level Law Rune Stage.

For one, he knew that he would be forced to ascend, and for the other, he needed an extreme amount of energy if he were going to attempt to reverse the two mutated Supreme Immortal Runes into a physique on top of recondensing the Supreme Immortal Fire Rune.

The core of his inner world that was once the revolving core began to experience a tremendous change. This revolving core had been filled with the Blazing Thunderlight Kirinʼs extinction lightning and fire, but after Davis modified his Supreme Immortal Lightning Rune into a mutated one, its black-lightning part became mixed with some white, and now, the crimson-gold flames were turning dark, coming to harbor the properties of immolation.

After all, he made some progress with comprehending heavenly flames and reached Level Five Abstruse Intent in Fire Laws, but as usual, the moment the resonation arrived, it was shattered by an unseen hand.

Like this, he kept focused on comprehending heavenly flames, having already made immense progress in this one month.

Two months passed since the time Davis first entered seclusion.

He still didnʼt show any signs of waking up and stayed focused. In fact, he was even naked, his purple robes having been turned into dust long ago.

As for Eldia, she was in the distance, a few hundred kilometers away, practicing her heavenly lightning as she refined her skills from just unleashing them in their raw form. Once spirits started to train from nothing, they displayed immense progress, and Eldia was no stranger, seemingly becoming stronger by the hour.

Her base prowess was still four levels higher than Peak-Level Ninth Stage. However, when used with her amateurish self-made techniques, her heavenly lightningʼs prowess was already reaching the bottleneck of entering the ninth level. Also, due to occasionally breaking the space, she had to regularly move around, causing her to destroy islands and clouds.

As for the destroyed core region of the Dark Thunder Island, she didnʼt feel anything because that wasnʼt where she was born as she was in the inner region, although it did sadden her a bit to see the raining extinction lightning being no longer as high as before. Nonetheless, she got over it pretty quick because she was together with the person she adored, occasionally being treated to sumptuous feasts that actually pivoted the way she would grow.

She couldnʼt help but stop once in a while to recover her energy and stare at his naked body as though she had nothing better to do.

Another month passed, making it three months from the time Davis entered seclusion.

At this time, it was raining heavily, yet a hundred kilometers surrounding Davis were free of rain, being scorched to evaporation in the skies before the raindrops could even close such a distance. However, it wasnʼt just the rain and thunder, but billowing tornadoes swirled in the raging seas, one of them even approaching Davisʼs direction.

However, a black-silver ray of light flashed, streaking past the sky before it struck that tornado, causing it to disperse in an instant as though some force ripped it apart.

In the skies, the dark-blue-robed woman harrumphed in derision before she continued to patrol the surrounding region while orbiting Davis at a certain distance. The billowing tornadoes were shot down by Eldia before they could near Davis.

Consequently, he encountered no interference with Eldiaʼs protection.

As for his progress over comprehending heavenly flames, he had comprehended Level Six Abstruse Intent of Fire Laws twenty days before, making it so that he possessed ample time to comprehend Level Seven Abstruse Intent.

However, his experience with absorbing these heavenly flame wisps so far had been excruciating. After all, the heavenly flames tempered almost every part of his body where the meridian points and pathways were located. The pain he felt was utterly unbearable that he wanted to kill himself a few times, even when he possessed a powerful will supported by his tremendous soul quality.

He never thought it would be this difficult without having an existence like Eldia supporting him.

Davis already had the last strand of heavenly flame wisp out as he continued to refine it. This wisp was the most excruciating to absorb out of anything he experienced that even heavenly lightning paled in comparison. His body regularly broke down and healed back due to his powerful healing energy.

Even though it wasnʼt his intent, the tempering of the heavenly flames and the passive effect of the True Essence Blood of the Earth Dragon Immortal he held caused his body to improve and allow him to step into the Mid-Level Martial Overlord Stage. Combined with his Supreme Immortal Crest, his Body Tempering Cultivationʼs prowess reached the seventh level of the Ninth Stage, and if he used his Supreme Immortal Crest, he could even enter the eighth level for a short period of time.

*Bzzz!~*

A few days later, heaven and earth energy descended, causing Davis to shudder before he opened his eyes.

At the same time, the heavenly flame wisp of the heavenly flame dragon also disappeared into thin air, becoming extinguished as it ran out of energy.

Dark crimson flames burst out of Davisʼs body as he raised his head and turned to look at the skies, his eyes narrowing while a purple robe was conjured from his martial energy, making him look dashing.
