The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2548: Chapter 2548: Let’s Leave It at That (Part 6)

At this moment, the courtyard door banged open, and Li Jiaya rushed in like the wind, but without saying a word, she went straight into her room and slammed the door shut.

Li Yi and his wife, startled and at a loss, looked at each other, taking a while to recover.

”Has this girl really lost her mind?” Leng Cuicui looked worried, ”Who upset her again?”

”It should be...” Li Yi frowned, ”It should still be that Lian Jinshu, right?” No one else could make this girl so agitated.

Leng Cuicui got up and went to knock on the door: ”Li Jiaya, what’s going on with you?”

”Leave me alone!” Li Jiaya shouted back, annoyed.

Leng Cuicui was just about to scold her when someone else walked in, causing her to swallow her words.

”Uncle Li, Aunt Li.” Shu Luo entered with a smile.

”Young Master Shu?” Li Yi was surprised, ”What brings you here? Please, have a seat.” He then looked at Leng Cuicui, ”Go make some tea.”

”No need to trouble yourself, Auntie.” Shu Luo quickly stopped Li Yi, ”I came because of Jiaya.”

”What’s wrong with Jiaya?” Leng Cuicui was momentarily surprised.

”It’s about Jiaya’s marriage...” Shu Luo rubbed his nose, ”My cousin-in-law said she would take care of it.” He decided to push the matter onto his cousin-in-law, after all, her status was intimidating enough.

Both Li Yi and Leng Cuicui were a bit confused upon hearing this, but they also understood that it was probably because Li Jiaya went to complain to Yang Ruxin. It seemed that there was really no fate with that Lian fellow.

”Did Xinxin mention which family she has in mind?” Leng Cuicui was still anxious.

Shu Luo rubbed his nose again: ”Not yet, but you should probably turn down Lian Jinshu, as Jiaya doesn’t like him. Besides, I don’t think his intentions are good.”

”Not good?” Leng Cuicui frowned, ”Could it be?”

”It’s hard to know someone’s true intentions.” Shu Luo sighed, ”Don’t forget, Uncle Li holds the formula for medicinal tea, and many have their eyes on it.”

The Li couple fell silent for a moment before Li Yi finally sighed, ”Don’t worry, we know what to do.”

Shu Luo was satisfied, glanced at a particular room door, and then took his leave.

Inside the room, Li Jiaya was eavesdropping, naturally hearing everything clearly. Her heart was suddenly filled with joy. This meant that Lian Jinshu wouldn’t bother her anymore, and Shu Luo wasn’t bad at all. She suddenly thought of the hug earlier, and her face turned red.

At this moment, there was a knock on the door.

Li Jiaya hurriedly patted her face, regained her composure, got up, opened the door, and came out.

”Explain what’s going on?” Leng Cuicui frowned at her daughter.

”What else could it be?” Li Jiaya slightly raised her eyebrows, ”I said I didn’t like Lian Jinshu, but you kept trying to set us up, so naturally, I had to find backing.”

”You...”

”Hmph.” Li Jiaya looked at Leng Cuicui with raised eyebrows, ”Ruxin is a third-rank official. If she’s backing me up, surely you can’t insist on marrying me off to that Lian fellow, right? Besides, he’s definitely up to no good.”

”But is it certain that Xinxin’s choice is better?” Leng Cuicui didn’t believe Lian Jinshu had bad intentions.

”It’s sure to be better than the Lian fellow.”

”You...”

”Enough!” Li Yi, exhausted by the mother and daughter’s exchange, quickly raised his hand to silence them, ”Since things are like this, we’ll leave it at that.” His tone was filled with helplessness; he never imagined that after all the fuss, they would return to the starting point.
