The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2529: Chapter 2529: I’m Hungry (3)

”I just hope our family can live happily and peacefully,” Wei Jun said earnestly.

”Don’t worry, it will certainly happen,” Wei Yao nodded. After all, wasn’t this her wish too?

With a clear idea and purpose, Wei Yao was no longer listless but began to work seriously. She planned to find an opportunity to meet Qi Jingyi tomorrow, as her brother suggested. She wanted to understand his true feelings and figure out where he placed her in his life, so she could know how to respond.

If he really only saw her as a concubine, although she knew it would sadden her, she wouldn’t entangle herself too much; it would be better to cut things off quickly and cleanly.

What Wei Yao didn’t expect was that, just as night was falling, the person she was thinking of meeting suddenly appeared in her room.

”You...”

”The robe you made for me got torn,” Qi Jingyi sat down directly on the chair, placing the bundle in his hand on the table, ”You need to fix it for me.”

Wei Yao glanced at him and then opened the bundle, discovering the robe embroidered with falling plums. The hem had multiple scratches, and it was quite difficult to repair it. She could only sigh and say, ”This one can’t be fixed, but I’ll make you another one.”

”You said it,” Qi Jingyi relaxedly leaned back in the chair, ”I’m hungry.”

”You...” Wei Yao didn’t know what to say, but she indeed smelled the scent of alcohol.

”Father set up a banquet, and I only drank wine. I just had a bite of food, so now I’m hungry,” Qi Jingyi had a slight mischievous tone.

Wei Yao sighed, then turned and left. Shortly after, she brought in a bowl of noodles, with a bowl of sauce on the side, ”The sauce was made at noon, and the noodles were just cooked. It’s a bit rushed, please make do with it.”

Qi Jingyi didn’t say anything, took the chopsticks, and started eating.

Wei Yao watched the man in front of her eating quickly yet still elegantly, and her heart once again surged with complex emotions.

”Comfortable,” Qi Jingyi quickly finished the large bowl of noodles, then sighed, ”This is the meal I’ve enjoyed the most in days.”

Wei Yao just stood there watching him without speaking.

”Why are you standing so far away from me?” Qi Jingyi slightly raised his eyes, ”Come and sit down.”

Wei Yao bit her lip, then walked over, placing the Chicken Blood Jade Pendant in front of him: ”Your item, returning it to its owner. Previously, you were going to the front, so I didn’t want to distract you and kept it temporarily. Now that you’ve returned triumphant, let’s just be friends from now on.”

Qi Jingyi frowned: ”Friends?”

”We’re not suited in terms of identity and status,” Wei Yao exhaled, ”Perhaps we are not even qualified to be friends.”

Qi Jingyi let out a derisive laugh.

”Moreover, I am Xinxin’s person. Xinxin’s family rule is that men do not take concubines, and women do not become concubines,” Wei Yao lowered her head, ”My father was born of a concubine, and I don’t want to live that life, nor do I want my future children to be unable to hold their heads high. So, I’d rather find an ordinary family and live an ordinary life...”

”Now tell me, who said you would have to be a concubine?” Qi Jingyi got up and walked to Wei Yao, looking down at her, ”I thought with you being by Xinxin’s side for so long, you would have picked up some of her character, but now it seems you are truly disappointing.”
