The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2524: Chapter 2524: Unfortunate (3)

Although there were servants and a wet nurse looking after the two children, and all of them were trusted aides, Shen Junru still couldn’t keep her attention on Zheng Daiyun. She hurriedly entered the inner room herself. It turned out the two little ones had wet themselves, and the nurse was about to change their diapers. So, Shen Junru stepped in to personally handle it.

The two little ones again comfortably fell asleep.

Zheng Daiyun, however, looked in the direction of the inner room, listening to the occasional gentle voice of the Crown Princess Consort coming from inside. Unconsciously, she tightened her grip on the handkerchief. If her child hadn’t died, then now it could be babbling greetings to her as well, but... suddenly, the hatred in her eyes could hardly be concealed.

Shen Junru caught the venomous look in Zheng Daiyun’s eyes the moment she came out, but when she tried to take a closer look, she found that Zheng Daiyun had already calmed down. Nevertheless, her heart faintly tightened, though she didn’t show it on her face, and gracefully walked over to sit down: ”Did you come looking for me with a particular matter, dear sister?”

”How can you say that? Isn’t it alright to come looking for you for no particular reason?” Zheng Daiyun’s smile failed to reach her eyes.

Shen Junru laughed as well: ”Why wouldn’t it be? The Crown Prince has spoken, sister enjoys the same treatment as I do, and can come anytime when convenient.”

”Then, may I take a look at the two little royal grandsons?”

”I’m sorry, but they’ve just fallen asleep.” Shen Junru flatly refused, ”Perhaps some other day.”

Zheng Daiyun did not insist: ”Seven months, isn’t it? Are they growing well?”

Shen Junru nodded: ”Yes, they resemble His Highness greatly.”

”Sister truly is fortunate.” Zheng Daiyun suddenly sighed, ”Tell me, if my son had lived until now, would he also have resembled His Highness?”

Shen Junru’s heart suddenly skipped a beat.

”What a pity that child was unfortunate.” Zheng Daiyun suddenly raised her eyes to stare at the Crown Princess Consort, ”I too am unfortunate.” Saying this, she placed her hand on her lower abdomen, ”I can’t even become a mother in the future; tell me, why did that Concubine Li harm me like this?”

Shen Junru frowned: ”That question should be directed at Concubine Li. I am equally curious.”

”Ha! If she had known back then that sister was also pregnant, do you think she would have targeted Crown Princess Consort sister or me?”

Shen Junru’s complexion subtly changed, but she soon lowered her eyelids: ”She is already dead, met her deserved end.”

”Indeed, Concubine Li is dead, along with many others from the Crown Prince Residence, yet some still live well, don’t they?” Zheng Daiyun’s smile turned peculiar, ”Do those who survived feel a sense of guilt?”

Shen Junru’s eyebrows furrowed, looking sharply at Zheng Daiyun: ”What exactly do you want to say?”

”Just wanting to confirm, Crown Princess Consort sister, do you ever dream of my son, who formed completely only to meet such a tragic end?” Zheng Daiyun slightly raised her eyebrows, ”He is your legitimate stepson after all, isn’t he? Ah, I often dream of him, dream of him lying there all bruised and battered, dream of him calling me mother, dream of him saying he feels so cold...”

Shen Junru’s complexion changed immediately, slamming the teacup in her hand onto the table: ”Zheng Daiyun, don’t take my sympathy and pity for granted! Think carefully about which words can be spoken and which cannot, otherwise...”
