The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2520: Chapter 2520: The Three Beans’ Full-Moon (Part 3)

Additionally, Du Chengxiu sent over a piece of news: indeed, someone is searching for Yong Cang, but it’s unclear if they are his people.

”General, please do a good deed to the end.” Yong Cang really had no other options and could only seek help from Yang Ruxin, but since she was in confinement, he couldn’t see her and could only negotiate with Gu Qingheng.

”My wife said that doing a good deed comes at a price.” Gu Qingheng was not pleased with this man, so his attitude was somewhat indifferent.

”I will pay a reward for it, Madam is aware of this.”

Gu Qingheng didn’t make it difficult for him any further: ”Well, my wife also said that given the reward, we have to help you this time.”

The corner of Yong Cang’s mouth twitched. This display of affection... You’re a General, yet every word is about your wife. Don’t you find it nauseating?

When the three beans turned a month old, Yang Ruxin didn’t even need to suggest anything; the whole village mobilized spontaneously and started organizing.

The Yang Family once again laid out a feast.

Yang Ruxin initially thought she’d be released, but unexpectedly she was stopped by Dong Wenxiu and Feng Zilan, insisting she complete a full forty days of confinement.

”Women are prone to illness during confinement,” Dong Wenxiu said with experience.

”Exactly,” Feng Zilan nodded. ”Xinxin, just endure for ten more days; it’s important for a lifetime.”

Yang Ruxin knew these two mothers had her best interests at heart, so she didn’t resist.

The feast lasted from noon until evening. The villagers reluctantly helped clean up before leaving, but the three beans remained a popular topic of conversation afterward.

Even the Dong Family’s patriarch, Dong Xun, managed to make it, though he should have arrived earlier. He was delayed for several days due to heatstroke on the way, but fortunately, he arrived on the full moon day.

”Have their names been decided?” Dong Xun looked at the three jade-like babies with great fondness, ignoring his fatigue.

”They have,” Dong Wenxiu nodded. ”Several elders came up with them. The firstborn Hei Dou is named Gu Sibi, the second, Lun Dou, is actually named Gu Wangshu, and the youngest, Huang Dou, is named Gu Wanru.”

”Great names,” Dong Xun nodded. ”All from the ’Songs of Chu’, showing the old folks put a lot of thought into it.”

”Dad, I’ve never read books and don’t know where they come from, but they sound nice,” Dong Wenxiu laughed.

”Sibi is taken from ’the vastness of the nine states’ in ’Li Sao’, and Wangshu...”

”Dad, let’s go inside and freshen up. You’ve traveled so long and it’s late now. Although the feast is over, there’s plenty to eat. I’ll fetch some for you,” Dong Wenxiu, not literate, quickly interrupted, not understanding all this talk of ’Songs of Chu’ and ’Li Sao’. ”Xinxin’s distillery has some new medicinal wines for you to try.”

Dong Xun nodded eagerly.

Early the next morning, Gu Qingheng bade farewell to his wife and children and headed to Beijing with Gu Yao.

After feeding the three beans, Yang Ruxin played with them for a while before letting someone take them to the nursery; with the children in her room, others couldn’t easily come in to see them.

”Madam,” Granny Huang entered, holding an account book, ”this is the gift ledger; everything has been checked and stored properly, no discrepancies.”

”Thank you, Granny Huang.” Yang Ruxin took the ledger and flipped through it; everything was clearly recorded. She suddenly paused at a certain entry, ”Did this person come yesterday?”
