Chapter 297: Chapter 297: Making a Name in the Chinese Medicine World

That day, the news of Lin Dong being interviewed as the Leader of the Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine dominated the major headlines.

This incident caused a sensation in the medical world.

Especially within the Chinese Medicine World!

It even quickly spread to the Capital City.

Even Wang Taisui, the Number One Doctor of the Northern Faction’s Chinese Medicine, had heard about it.

In the Mansion where Lin Tiance and Wang Xiuxin resided, they all looked at the TV with ugly expressions.

On TV, they were broadcasting the scene of Lin Dong, as the Leader of the Southern Faction, being interviewed.

”He’s actually proficient in both Martial Arts and Medicine. To think he possesses such medical arts to become the Leader of the Southern Faction! I remember it’s been almost a hundred years since the Southern Faction had a leader, right?”

Even Lin Tiance was surprised by this news.

Wang Xiuxin clenched his teeth, feeling the most furious upon learning this; it was undoubtedly him.

Xu Ying saw his ugly expression and comforted him, ”Brother Xiuxin, even if he has become the Leader of the Southern Faction’s Traditional Chinese Medicine, so what?”

”At the upcoming Medical Competition between the Southern and Northern Factions, you will beat him. The higher they lift him now, the harder he will fall later.”

Wang Xiuxin nodded, knowing that now Lin Dong had become the Leader of the young generation of the Southern Faction, he would certainly represent them in the Medical Competition coming up.

And Wang Xiuxin would participate as well.

At that time, they would become direct rivals.

If he could beat Lin Dong in the Medical Competition, then Lin Dong and the Southern Faction’s Traditional Chinese Medicine would be utterly devastated.

Only...

Wang Xiuxin also knew that Lin Dong was indeed skilled, and it would be somewhat troublesome to beat him in the Medical Competition!

”I... I have no guarantee of victory!”

Lin Tiance, sitting beside him, eyes flickering, suggested, ”Perhaps, we could do something behind the scenes?”

”Oh?” Wang Xiuxin’s eyes lit up as he looked toward Lin Tiance.

”Like what?”

Lin Tiance smiled slightly, ”For instance, if he can’t participate in the Medical Competition, doesn’t it mean he’s lost by default?”

Hearing this, Wang Xiuxin also began to smile.

Yes, if the other party couldn’t participate in the Medical Competition, what good would it do even if his medical skills were better than Wang Xiuxin’s?

By that time, a news headline would emerge:

”Leader of the Southern Faction’s Traditional Chinese Medicine, cowers before battle, dares not to fight.”

This would be even more disgraceful than being defeated, tarnishing his reputation.

The Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine would also be completely suppressed by the Northern Faction as a result!

Thinking of this, Wang Xiuxin quickly said, ”Brother Tian Ce, do you perhaps already have a plan?”

”I dare not call it a plan, but we do have an ally. As the saying goes, the enemy of an enemy is a friend...” Lin Tiance said mysteriously.

”A friend, who?”

Lin Tiance clapped his hands.

Just then, a person wearing a cloak walked in.

”Xiuxin, let me introduce you. This is Qiao Renyi, Mister Qiao from the Hall of Dark King... Oh, and he has another identity, he’s the biological father of your ex-girlfriend, Qiao Bing!”

Wow!!

Wang Xiuxin was incredibly surprised to see this person because of his past relationship with Qiao Bing; he had actually looked into her family before.

He knew of Qiao Renyi.

He was a man who had abandoned his wife and daughter, and later became the Door-to-Door Son-in-law of the Sun Family—a complete trash.

Yet could such trash actually have been acting the part all along?

What was he up to with all this?

If Lin Dong and Qiao Bing were here, they would likely be even more surprised than him.

”Mister Qiao, I hope our cooperation will be pleasant,” Lin Tiance slowly said.

Qiao Renyi nodded slightly, his face hidden beneath the cloak somber, with who knows what on his mind.

...

After the interview, Lin Dong’s popularity skyrocketed in the Hospital.

Wherever he went, he became the center of attention, the subject of much discussion.

”Who could have thought Doctor Lin Dong was actually the Leader of the Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine.”

”But he’s so young, does he really have the capability to hold that position?”

”Doesn’t Chinese Medicine require time to accumulate knowledge?”

”What are you doubting now? Are those seniors in the Southern Faction of Chinese Medicine fools? If Doctor Lin Dong’s medical skills weren’t up to par, how could they have supported him!”

”That’s right, stop being jealous. You can’t be envious of this!”

”...”

Everyone was talking, initially, some were skeptical.

However, envy prevailed as the more dominant sentiment.

Lin Dong found that fame also had its downsides.

Everywhere he went, he was the center of attention; even though he was only twenty years old, he was treated like a visiting leader.

”Doctor Lin Dong, you’re here.”

”Doctor Lin Dong, hello!”

”...”

Wherever he went, everyone greeted him respectfully.

Even the Directors of the hospital did so.

The identity of Leader of the Southern Faction’s Traditional Chinese Medicine was a big deal, and even these Directors were very cautious in the face of this title.

It was as if they were facing the President.

At that moment, two people hurried over.

It was Liao Ming and the superior who had previously given Lin Dong a hard time.

Now, the two of them approached and ’thump thump’ fell to their knees directly in front of Lin Dong.

Lin Dong was startled and asked, ”What are you guys doing?”

Liao Ming quickly said, ”Doctor Lin Dong, I was wrong, I failed to recognize a real dragon. Please put in a good word for us, spare us?”

The previous superior from the hospital added, ”The Hospital dismissed us, Doctor Lin Dong, for the sake of past relations, please speak on our behalf.”

Both knew that their dismissal was surely because of Lin Dong.

They had kicked an iron plate.

They understood that to save their jobs, they had to come and beg Lin Dong.

So, they didn’t hesitate to kneel in front of Lin Dong, just to keep their jobs.

Lin Dong understood everything upon hearing this.

But who would have thought that these two would have the audacity to ask for his help?

Lin Dong almost laughed, completely ignoring them.

Right then, Qiao Bing gave him a call.

”Lin Dong... come to my dormitory... I have a surprise for you.”

Over the phone, Qiao Bing’s gentle voice came through.

A surprise?

Could that surprise be...

Thinking of the possibility, Lin Dong’s spirits lifted, and he quickly headed to Qiao Bing’s dormitory...
