Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 293: Chapter 293: They’re Not Worthy of Comparing with Me

Lin Dong naturally heard the doctors and nurses discussing amongst themselves, but he did not pay much attention to it.

At the moment, he was doing rounds for his patients.

When he finished his rounds and walked to the Nurse Station, a group of interns arrived.

Southern Capital Hospital is a teaching hospital, affiliated with The First Affiliated Hospital of Southern Capital’s Medical University.

Therefore, students from the Medical University often come here to intern.

Internship is essentially observing the illnesses discussed in textbooks clinically, integrating theory with practice.

Usually, medical students begin their internships in their third year!

Lin Dong viewed this as nothing unusual, and was about to leave when a tall and attractive girl stepped out from among the interns and blocked his way.

Then, with a smile on her face, she said,

”So your name is Lin Dong, we meet again.”

Lin Dong looked at her and realized she was Gu Lingfei, the campus beauty he had encountered yesterday at the Medical University.

Gu Lingfei was tall, standing at one meter seventy-eight, nearly as tall as Lin Dong when standing there.

Lin Dong was also somewhat surprised, ”So it’s you!”

As they were talking, suddenly a commotion arose.

A group of people dressed in white gowns, surrounding someone in their midst, approached with an impressive air.

The person at the forefront was none other than Chen Tong!

Today, Chen Tong wasn’t even wearing a white gown but had just changed into a suit.

Because he felt that wearing a suit for the upcoming press interview would present a better image.

Surrounding him were people like Liao Ming, who were already currying favor with Chen Tong.

Chen Tong’s visit to Lin Dong’s department was deliberate.

He had suffered a setback with Lin Dong and Qiao Bing yesterday.

Today, he, Chen Tong, wanted to regain his face!

And to show off in front of Qiao Bing.

”Qiao Bing, you disregarded me, didn’t you?

But now, I’m about to become the leader of the younger generation in the Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Can you still afford to ignore me?”

However, after scanning around, he did not see Qiao Bing but saw Lin Dong chatting with a tall, youthful, and beautiful girl.

Though the girl looked young, she was very beautiful, and even Chen Tong, who was used to seeing beauties, was stunned for a moment.

Seeing Lin Dong talking with the beautiful young lady, Chen Tong’s face looked rather displeased. He walked up to Lin Dong with his hands behind his back and said,

”Lin Dong, you’re not supposed to chat with people during work hours! Shouldn’t you be working now?”

Lin Dong frowned, ”I’ve already seen all my patients. I have nothing to do right now, so what’s the problem with chatting with an intern for a while?”

”As for you, mind your own business. During working hours, are you trying to act cool in a suit?”

Upon hearing Lin Dong, a small practicing doctor, daring to speak to him like this, Chen Tong turned blue with rage.

He was about to reply, but before he could, Liao Ming spoke up first:

”Lin Dong, how do you speak to the soon-to-be leader of the Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine like that?”

”You even dare to comment on Leader Chen wearing a suit. Who do you think you are? Let me tell you, Leader Chen is wearing a suit today, and even the President would approve, because Leader Chen is about to be interviewed by journalists and the media. Wearing a suit won’t tarnish the image.”

Hearing this, Lin Dong looked bewildered.

”Leader Chen? What Leader Chen?”

Seeing this reaction, Liao Ming sneered,

”You don’t know? Don’t your ears work? Didn’t you hear what all the doctors and nurses in our hospital were talking about this morning?”

”The new leader of the younger generation of the Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine has been chosen, and that person is in our hospital. It’s going to be announced today, and there will even be journalists and media for interviews!”

”And that person is our Deputy Director Chen Tong!”

After hearing this, Lin Dong first looked stunned, then his face filled with a weird expression:

”He is the leader of the Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine?”

”Do I even need to say it? If not Deputy Director Chen Tong, then who? Could it be you?” Liao Ming gave him a disdainful look.

The look of strangeness in Lin Dong’s eyes intensified.

As for Chen Tong, he said,

”Forget it, Liao Ming, there’s no need to discuss this with him, a mere practicing doctor. Someone who could only become the lowest-level practicing doctor through luck. Talking to him is like talking to a wall.”

Liao Ming nodded repeatedly, ”You’re right, Leader Chen. The starting point of your current position as Deputy Director is a finish line he could never reach in his lifetime.”

At that moment, a noisy commotion erupted outside the hospital.

Liao Ming hurriedly said, ”Could that be the old predecessors of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the media arriving?”

”It should be, let’s hurry up and go out there!” Chen Tong said.

As the two of them were about to leave, they did not forget to give Lin Dong a lofty glance.

Soon after, they strutted away.

After they left, Gu Lingfei saw Lin Dong’s peculiar expression and his silent demeanor, assuming he was struck by what had occurred.

So, she spoke up reassuringly, ”Are you okay? You’re still young with limitless possibilities ahead.”

”You might not compare to them now, but who can say about the future?

”If all else fails, you’re so handsome, you could still make a living off your looks.”

Listening to her words, Lin Dong’s mouth twitched.

He shook his head, ”I don’t need to compare myself to them.”

”Giggle, that’s the right attitude. Leader of the Southern Faction’s Traditional Chinese Medicine, huh? I’ve heard about it before too. It’s said that it’s been decades, even nearly a century, since one last appeared. Such a person, we indeed can’t compare...

However, before Gu Lingfei could finish speaking, Lin Dong laughed and said,

”What I meant was, they’re not worthy to compare with me.”

Gu Lingfei was taken aback, frozen in place.

Was he being arrogant?

Or consoling himself?

Just then, the uproar outside grew louder.

Someone shouted,

”The renowned old TCM doctors have arrived, and the media too. Come on, let’s go and watch the excitement!”
