Chapter 288: Chapter 288: Campus Beauty, Gu Lingfei

”You’ve never played basketball?”

Cai Kun’s face was as ugly as ugly could be.

The others were also at a loss for words.

You say you’ve never played basketball, yet you agreed to compete with Cai Kun?

Are you looking to lose dignity?

”I’ve never played, but if you explain the rules to me, I should have no problem beating you!” Lin Dong said earnestly.

”You...” Cai Kun’s face turned even more unsightly, he had never been underestimated like this before.

The others couldn’t help but speak up:

”Handsome guy, you’re going a bit too far.”

”Cai Kun is a member of our school’s basketball team and also our school’s basketball ambassador. His skills may not compare to a professional, but they’re not far off. If you’ve really never played basketball, why would you agree to this?”

”Exactly, it’s a waste of everyone’s time.”

”...”

At this point, Cai Kun didn’t care whether Lin Dong knew how to play basketball or not.

The atmosphere was already tense; he had to win this basketball match.

”Kid, since you’re looking to be humiliated, don’t blame me,” Cai Kun sneered before going over to explain the rules to Lin Dong.

After explaining the rules, he said, ”We’re playing ’bull,’ three points to win. Whoever scores first, wins!”

Lin Dong nodded, ”Then you go first!”

Upon hearing this, the corner of Cai Kun’s mouth twitched again.

”Okay!”

He didn’t want to waste any more time with Lin Dong.

He was ready to end this basketball contest quickly.

He started dribbling.

”Thump, thump, thump!”

The basketball in his hand flowed smoothly, his fancy dribbling maneuvers making it a blur to the onlookers.

It seemed as if he wanted to show off his dribbling skills, so he didn’t shoot right away, but instead dribbled around for nearly eight seconds before preparing to shoot!

And his shot was a difficult fadeaway jump shot!

Lin Dong just followed his moves sluggishly, playing defense.

Seeing this defense, everyone really believed he had no basketball skills.

If he really knew how to play, he wouldn’t defend like that!

”I’m going to score now!” Cai Kun yelled, as he shot the fadeaway jump shot.

”Bang!!”

But at that moment, the sound of a ball being slapped rang out.

The basketball that he had just shot while jumping was sent flying by a direct slap from Lin Dong.

Blocked!!!

”Holy crap!”

The sight caused a commotion in the sports field.

Cai Kun himself was also stunned.

Is this... is this guy even human?

Just now, that kid seemed to jump several meters high!

”He’s practically flying.”

”That speed is too fast, and the jump too high!”

”He actually managed to block that, awesome!”

”...”

After blocking the shot, Lin Dong smiled and said, ”I didn’t foul, did I?”

Cai Kun, face iron blue, shook his head: ”No, now it’s your offensive round!”

Although the shock was immense, more than anything Cai Kun felt he had lost dignity.

He wanted to regain face and to block Lin Dong’s shot in return.

Lin Dong nodded, took the basketball, and started his offensive round.

He stood right at the half-court position, without even bending his legs, and tossed the ball with an extremely nonstandard posture.

”What?”

Seeing this, everyone was dumbfounded!

A half-court shot?

This guy must truly have never played basketball!

Who takes shots from half-court?

Even NBA players only do it when time is running out!

However...

”Swish!!”

Lin Dong’s half-court shot went straight through the hoop—an empty net.

Scored!!!

The whole field was stunned.

”Is that even possible?”

Cai Kun was flabbergasted.

He never saw it coming.

That was a half-court shot, and he didn’t even defend because it was utterly uncalled for.

But who thought the other guy would actually score?

Cai Kun gritted his teeth and said, ”You’re just lucky. Let’s continue!”

Since Lin Dong scored, it was still his offensive round.

Lin Dong continued to shoot from the same half-court spot.

”Again?” Cai Kun was stupefied, still not defending, ”I don’t believe you can score again!”

Others thought the same.

However...

”Swish!!!”

Another empty net.

Cai Kun and everyone else were dumbfounded once more.

”One more basket!” Lin Dong said.

Cai Kun’s face had completely changed. He quickly moved towards Lin Dong to defend him tightly, even from half-court.

But Lin Dong didn’t start dribbling, as he didn’t know how.

He didn’t need to.

He raised the basketball again and continued to shoot.

Cai Kun wanted to jump and block his shot.

However, Lin Dong’s release was too fast; Cai Kun didn’t get to block, not even touching the shadow of the ball.

”Swish!!!”

The final basket, just like the previous two, was an empty net.

Upon witnessing this, everyone on the sports field was utterly speechless, struck dumb!

Cai Kun was completely baffled!

For the first time in a basketball game, he felt utterly humiliated in defeat.

Sure, his skills were better than the other guy’s, who didn’t even know how to dribble, but still, the guy had just beaten him!

All his fancy moves were no match for the one move that kept beating him!

”You lost.”

Lin Dong spread his hands and left the sports field, heading towards Qiao Bing.

And at that moment, the sports field was in a frenzy.

”Ling Fei, he’s way too handsome. Sister, please help me, could you get his contact information for me?” Gu Lingfei’s roommate put her hands together, looking excitedly at Gu Lingfei.

Gu Lingfei rolled her eyes, ”Why don’t you go yourself?”

”If I go, I’m afraid I won’t be able to get it. But it’s different if you go. You’ll definitely get his contact information, please, help a sister out,” her roommate continued to plead.

”One month’s worth of lunch!”

”Deal!”

As a result, the campus beauty, Gu Lingfei, started walking towards Lin Dong.

After a few steps, she called out to Lin Dong’s receding figure:

”Handsome guy, wait a second, my name is Gu Lingfei, could you give me your contact information?”
