Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 294: Chapter 294 Got It Wrong

As these words were spoken, many off-duty doctors and nurses also went out to see what the excitement was about.

Lin Dong had wanted to join them, but his superiors had other plans for him.

”Lin Dong, don’t go mingling in the crowd. You stay in the department, take these interns, and teach them something!”

Lin Dong had no choice but to stay behind and take the group of interns to see patients in the sickroom.

Initially, Gu Lingfei and her classmates thought that as a visiting doctor, Lin Dong probably wouldn’t be very good at lecturing.

But soon, what Lin Dong was explaining left them all surprised and impressed.

He wasn’t talking about the theories from textbooks, but about practice instead.

He used patients as teaching examples, showing them firsthand Lin Dong’s methods for curing sickness.

It was incredible, using acupuncture, fire cupping, and tuina massage to treat diseases.

”Wow, it’s amazing, it’s different from what we learned in school!”

”But it seems really effective!”

”Dr. Lin, can you teach me?”

”...”

Gu Lingfei was spellbound; she thought to herself not only was Lin Dong handsome, but his medical skills were also impressive.

While Lin Dong was teaching the interns, at the hospital entrance there was an exceptional buzz.

The President and Vice President, along with a group of people, waited expectantly.

Chen Tong, Liao Ming, and others were also at the door, prepared!

Soon, several cars arrived.

The first car’s passengers were the Medicine King, Needle King, Fire Cupping King, and other elderly famous doctors from the Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Their fame was immense, even the President and Vice President of Southern Capital Hospital addressed them respectfully as Teacher or Senior.

Following them, there were the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Medicine Association and a group of reporters.

Upon their arrival, the President of the hospital and his staff hurriedly went to welcome them.

”Medicine Elder Wang, Elder Needle King...all the old predecessors of Chinese Medicine, on behalf of Southern Capital Hospital, we welcome you.”

The President bowed with utmost respect.

Everyone waved their hands and exchanged pleasantries.

After the small talk, the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Medicine Association said,

”Fellow teachers, shouldn’t we start the main event?”

”Let’s not keep the media waiting any longer, shall we go and meet the leader?”

Medicine King, Needle King, and others nodded.

Hearing this, Chen Tong’s face flushed with excitement.

He quickly straightened his suit, cleared his throat, and stepped forward.

”Grandpa, Medicine Elder Wang, Elder Needle King...all the elders of the Chinese Medicine world, thank you for your favor. I am fully prepared!”

As soon as he said this, his grandpa Fire Cupping King, along with Needle King, Medicine King, and others, all looked at him strangely.

His grandpa Fire Cupping King asked, ”What have you prepared for?”

”Of course, for the interview!” Chen Tong said reflexively.

”What interview?” His grandpa Fire Cupping King and others appeared even more puzzled.

Chen Tong was taken aback, then blurted out, ”The interview for the future leader, I’ve already written my speech...”

He even pulled out a manuscript.

Medicine King, Needle King, and others all frowned, casting strange looks at Fire Cupping King.

Chen Tong’s grandpa’s face turned blue, feeling utterly embarrassed by his grandson.

”My grandson, what makes you so confident you could be the leader of our Southern Faction? Don’t you have any sense of your own limitations?”

Upon hearing this, Chen Tong’s face turned red with embarrassment, realizing he had made a mistake.

The new generation’s leader of the Southern Faction Traditional Chinese Medicine was not him!

”But...but grandpa, when I called you before, you said you had a surprise for me,” Chen Tong hurriedly said.

Fire Cupping King’s already pale face darkened further as he said without words:

”The surprise I mentioned was about our Southern Faction of Chinese Medicine having a new leader. I didn’t say you were the leader!”

It was then that Chen Tong finally confirmed that he had misunderstood.

At the moment, Chen Tong saw countless people looking at him oddly, and they were all acquaintances. Familiar faces from the Chinese Medicine World, from the hospital, he just wanted to find a hole to crawl into from embarrassment.

Could he be any more shamed?

He had lost face all the way to his grandma’s house!

Beside him, Liao Ming was also stunned. Had there really been a mistake?

Deputy Director Chen was not the leader that the Southern Faction had endorsed!

”Hahaha, Chen Tong, you really are something. Your skills aren’t even as good as mine, yet where do you get the confidence to think you could be the new generation leader?”

Zhuge Lingyou, grandson of Medicine King, couldn’t help but chuckle aloud.

Li Qingdai and others alongside him also couldn’t contain their mirth and laughed out loud.

These were his peers, known since childhood, and now to become the butt of their jokes, Chen Tong felt he could no longer face them.

His grandpa Fire Cupping King also looked quite displeased; he truly felt that he had been embarrassed along with his grandson.

Seeing Fire Cupping King’s upset expression, Medicine King stepped forward to defuse the situation.

”Alright, stop laughing. Let’s focus on getting the main event underway.”

Needle King, the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Medicine Association, and others interjected:

”Yes, let’s go find the leader!”

”To interview the leader!”

”...”

With that said, the crowd began moving grandly towards Lin Dong’s department, led by Vice President Chen Tongwei.

”What are you standing around for? Hurry up and follow me, and later you’ll join me in meeting the leader!”

”When you see the leader, don’t embarrass me like you just did!”

Chen Tong nodded repeatedly: ”Yes, yes, grandpa.”

He thought to himself that he must make a good impression in front of the leader to regain some dignity.

Yet, he couldn’t help but grow curious.

Southern Capital Hospital was truly a den of hidden talents, hosting a divine doctor of leader caliber that even he was unaware of?

Who could that be?
