Chapter 282: Chapter 282: A Leader in Southern Faction

At the moment, in front of the spacious entrance to the Medicine King Hall, there were hundreds of Traditional Chinese Medical experts, all bowing towards Lin Dong.

They were earnestly pleading with Lin Dong to assume the role of the young leader for the Southern Faction of the Chinese Medicine World!

Though they referred to him as the young leader, in reality, there was no difference between this and the true leadership of the Southern Faction of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Previously, the older generation of the Southern Faction had not had an actual leader.

Now, by jointly electing Lin Dong as the leader of the younger generation, they were effectively proclaiming a ”new king.”

It’s just that, perhaps they felt this ”new king” was still too young and needed to undergo a period of evaluation.

It could be understood as a position akin to a ”crown prince.”

Li Qingdai watched this scene unfold, her emotions surging, and her heartthrobs becoming erratic.

The person she admired most was one with superb medical skills, and Lin Dong was such a person.

Moreover, he was extremely young!

Zhuge Lingyou, looking at Lin Dong, clenched his fist and thought to himself, ”I must redouble my efforts, striving to become a true disciple of my master!”

”To follow my master and restore the glory of Southern Traditional Chinese Medicine!”

Under the anticipatory gazes of everyone, Lin Dong felt somewhat troubled.

He was somewhat reluctant to become the leader of the Chinese Medicine World, mainly because he feared the hassle.

In his eyes, from beginning to end, the most important thing was cultivation.

However, seeing the eager eyes of the Southern Faction’s Chinese Medical Experts, he found it hard to refuse.

”Uh, will being the young leader of the Chinese Medicine World be very busy?” Lin Dong scratched his head and asked the crowd.

Medicine King, Needle King, and other senior predecessors were all taken aback.

Everyone felt that the Young Miracle Doctor seemed somewhat unwilling. Could it be that he was afraid it would be too time-consuming?

The Vice Chairman of the Chinese Medicine Association said, ”Young Miracle Doctor, to hold this leadership isn’t about needing you to work formally every day at a set place like an office job!”

”This is a nominal position, intended to unite us Southern Traditional Chinese Medical Experts and achieve the goal of fostering even greater unity among us!”

”It’s somewhat akin to... akin to the ’Martial Arts Alliance’ in martial arts novels!”

”Yes, yes, yes, Young Miracle Doctor, please don’t refuse. Are you perhaps still dissatisfied with what happened last night? If it’s about last night, then I apologize for the remarks I made to you,” said the Fire Cupping King hastily.

The contrast to yesterday was stark. Last night, he had disregarded Lin Dong as the leader of the younger generation. But today, he desperately hoped that Lin Dong would agree, fearing he wouldn’t.

Besides him, the Chinese Medical Experts who had declared last night that Lin Dong was not qualified to compete with Wang Xiuxin, calling him an immature brat, also stepped forward to apologize to Lin Dong.

Lin Dong was speechless. He couldn’t help laughing and said, ”Everyone, my tolerance is not that small.”

”As for last night’s events, I haven’t taken them to heart. My hesitation stems from concerns about whether I am capable enough to shoulder such a responsibility and that it might be too time-consuming...”

Hearing this, the people all breathed a sigh of relief.

After that, they all shook their heads.

”Rest assured, it won’t be busy.”

”What you need to do is to occasionally emerge to oversee the bigger picture!”

”Of course, the most important upcoming event is the Medical Competition between the Southern and the Northern factions that takes place every three years!”

”The Medical Competition is now not far off, and by then, you will need to participate as the leader of the Southern Chinese Medicine World!”

”And your opponent will be the top-ranked young doctor of the Northern Faction, the Junior Divine Doctor Wang Xiuxin. Initially, we all thought that our Southern Faction would definitely lose to the Northern Faction as usual, but now, with you here, the outcome is uncertain!”

”...”

Upon hearing these words, Lin Dong also couldn’t help but make inquiries.

”What exactly is this Medical Competition?”

The crowd looked at one another with a certain strangeness.

No one expected that Lin Dong would be unaware of this.

But considering his young age, it could indeed be understood.

Medicine King explained to Lin Dong, ”In our Dragon Country, Traditional Chinese Medicine is divided into the Southern and the Northern factions.”

”This has been the case for thousands of years, and the Southern and Northern factions have often competed in the shadows, neither willing to concede to the other.”

”As a result, since ancient times, a friendly Medical Competition every three years was established!”

”This Medical Competition includes both the elder generation’s competition as well as the younger generation’s!”

”Both factions will nominate their most respected older doctors and their most outstanding young doctors with the greatest potential to compete under the witness of many renowned doctors from both the Southern and Northern factions.”

”Three hundred years ago, it was always our Southern Faction that dominated the Northern Faction. Zhang Zhongjing, Ge Hong, and others all hailed from our South... However, today, our Southern Faction is waning. In the past few decades, we haven’t won a single time.”

”Both the older and the younger generations have fared the same!!”

At this point, Medicine Elder Wang exhibited a trace of embarrassment on his face.

He had represented the older generation of the Southern Faction in the last Medical Competition and had lost to that old fellow Wang Taisui.

They did not expect to win among the elder generation anymore.

Now, they were pinning their hopes on Lin Dong, the younger generation, to win this battle.

If so, it would surely inspire the Southern Faction’s Chinese Medical Experts.

It would lead all Southern Faction’s Chinese Medical Experts to feel that their future was promising.

After hearing all this, Lin Dong also nodded.

”Okay, I’ll take the position of the young leader of the Southern Traditional Chinese Medicine!”

Upon hearing Lin Dong’s agreement, everyone was ecstatic.

Then, Medicine King, Needle King, Fire Cupping King, and other elder Traditional Chinese doctors looked at each other, and simultaneously, they all bowed to Lin Dong.

”We, the Southern Faction’s Traditional Chinese Medical Experts, acknowledge Chief Lin!”

After these highly respected elder Traditional Chinese Medical Experts spoke, Li Qingdai, Zhuge Lingyou, and all the doctors from the Medicine King Hall, also bowed towards Lin Dong.

”We, acknowledge Chief Lin!!!”

Their voices were loud and their momentum filled the sky.

In this moment, the Southern Faction’s Traditional Chinese Medical Experts had their leader!
