Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 284: Chapter 284: Risks of Showing Off in Public

However, the emotional hue in her eyes was just a trace.

That faint resurgence of emotion vanished in an instant.

Qiao Bing’s face remained as pale as before, her eyes lifeless, like a walking corpse.

At that moment, a middle-aged man in the crowd pointed at Qiao Bing and shouted:

”Everyone, come and see, this quack doctor is going to kill my dad.”

Lin Dong quickly asked, ”What exactly is the situation?”

The man glanced at Lin Dong, saw his youth, and didn’t answer his question,

but instead asked, ”And who are you?”

”I am Lin Dong, an advancing doctor from this department...”

However, before he could finish, the man directly snorted coldly:

”An advancing doctor, who do you think you are? Do you think you have the right to handle this situation?”

”I want someone from your hospital who has the authority to speak on this matter!”

Clearly, the man did not take Lin Dong seriously.

It was then that a group of people wearing white gowns, surrounding a young doctor in his thirties, came through the crowd.

After the young doctor arrived, he said, ”I am Chen Tong, the Deputy Director of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department at Southern Capital Hospital. What happened here?”

”Are you Doctor Chen Tong from Southern Capital Hospital, the youngest deputy director of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department? I’ve seen you on TV! I heard you are also the grandson of the ’Fire Cupping King,’ a renowned doctor in Southern Capital... known as the ’Little Fire Cupping King,’ right?” The man recognized him and said excitedly.

Chen Tong nodded, ”What’s happened here? You just said the other person’s rank wasn’t enough to deal with your issue, so is my rank sufficient now?”

”Of course, of course, it’s sufficient,” the man hurriedly said.

Then he recounted what had just happened.

”That female doctor was treating my dad with a distracted look, which worsened my dad’s sickness, and now he’s fallen unconscious...”

Hearing the man’s tale, Chen Tong looked towards Qiao Bing.

He had long taken notice of Qiao Bing, a stunning beauty who even outshone the former belle of their hospital.

He had previously invited Qiao Bing to an evening banquet, but she blatantly ignored him.

Now he saw this as an opportunity to show off in front of the beauty.

Perhaps by helping her out, he might win her silent favor.

With that in mind, Chen Tong said, ”I’ll take full responsibility for this. Rest assured, patient, we will give you an explanation...”

As he spoke, he gave Qiao Bing what he believed to be a gentlemanly smile and comforted her, saying:

”Doctor Qiao, leave this matter to me. I’ll handle it!”

He had thought such behavior would earn Qiao Bing’s favor. However, he found that Qiao Bing didn’t even glance at him.

She completely ignored him!

He felt awkward.

Suddenly, at that moment, a voice rang out.

”Lin Dong, what the hell are you doing? Are you capable of handling this situation? This matter is now under the care of Deputy Director Chen Tong!”

The speaker was none other than Liao Ming, with whom Lin Dong had previously had a falling-out.

Liao Ming was Zhang Meilan’s boyfriend, and at a classmate gathering between Bai Jue and Zhang Meilan, Lin Dong had clashed with him. At that time, he had tried to show off in front of Lin Dong, only to be embarrassingly outdone.

Later, disliked by Zhang Meilan, he was kicked to the curb.

He blamed Lin Dong for everything, harboring deep resentment towards him.

Now, having come with Chen Tong on a consultation visit and stumbling upon this situation, he naturally wanted to regain some face.

Seeing Lin Dong crouching down and taking a Silver Needle to pierce the old man’s skin, he immediately shouted out.

His shout also drew everyone’s attention towards Lin Dong.

But they saw Lin Dong at that moment, holding a three-inch-long Filiform Needle, piercing the acupoints of the unconscious old man.

Seeing this, Chen Tong furiously exclaimed, ”Who are you? So young! Are you an intern? What are you doing?”

”Stop it; one doctor has already harmed my dad, and now comes another? Stop it right now!” yelled the unconscious man’s irate son.

Lin Dong said firmly, ”Isn’t the most important thing right now to save the person?”

”All I hear is you guys blabbering nonsense there—if you keep blabbering, the man’s going to die.”

As Lin Dong spoke, the Filiform Needle had already pierced the old man’s acupoint, and he began treating him.

”It’s not your turn to cure the disease; what disease can you treat, huh? If you cause someone’s death, let me tell you, you won’t get away with less than five million in compensation—I won’t let you off!” yelled the patient’s volatile son at Lin Dong.

Liao Ming crossed his arms and watched the spectacle, thinking to himself that if Lin Dong ended up killing the patient, that would be perfect. That way, it’s the end for you, Lin Dong!

Chen Tong then charged over, first glaring at Lin Dong and scolding him, ”Get lost, let me handle this!”

As he spoke, he glanced over at Qiao Bing, preparing to show off his superb medical skills in front of her.

However...

”Cough cough...”

Just then, the man lying on the ground, who had previously been unconscious, suddenly coughed violently.

Next, he spat out a mouthful of jelly-colored phlegm.

The phlegm, unerringly, landed directly on the face of Chen Tong, who had hoped to play the savior.

In an instant, Chen Tong felt a darkness before his eyes.

A stench from hell assaulted him!

”Oh my God! What the hell is this?” Chen Tong couldn’t help but curse, and as he opened his mouth, the stench intensified.

Under the ’baptism’ of that foul smell, before he could catch his breath, he fainted.

Seeing this, Liao Ming and the others were flabbergasted.
