Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 579: New Semester

This auction ultimately did not proceed smoothly.

After such a terrible incident occurred, there was naturally no need to continue it.

After being affected this time, whether this type of auction could continue to be held in the future was questionable, let alone the fact that such a huge hotel plus the surrounding buildings were simply gone, which naturally had a massive impact on Modu.

And amidst this chaotic overall environment, all the Transcendent Academies successively began their new semester.

The tragedy caused by the Players was undoubtedly extremely severe.

The students of every Transcendent Academy understood through personal experience that such villains actually existed in this world.

But… the truth of this matter was destined not to be exposed to the public eye.

They would never know that the ones who caused such serious destruction were beings from beyond the world, nor would they know they were called Players.

As for how this matter needed to be handled afterwards… that was what the professionals responsible for these matters needed to busy themselves with.

And I didn’t need to worry about it.

Because at this moment, I was busy with many things in the new semester, such as preparing to cooperate with Big Sis Bai in conducting her first class.

After all, I was a Teaching Assistant.

Originally, Big Sis Bai didn’t plan to let us help with this task, since the reason she asked me to be a Teaching Assistant in the first place was to reduce unnecessary trouble for me under my student status.

But this was Big Sis Bai’s first class, it held great commemorative significance, so Big Sis Bai couldn’t persuade me against it.

Moreover… teaching others was also a process of self-learning.

But when the day of the class finally arrived, the number of students who showed up… was far more than I had expected.

Body Cultivation was a very niche course at the Witch Academy; the usual number of people studying it was probably only about five.

Furthermore, there were quite a few Mentors teaching this series of courses, including Body Cultivation, Physical Arts Perception cultivation, and so on.

No matter how many students there were, as long as a student was willing to learn, a Mentor would naturally be willing to teach.

It was indeed unexpected that so many people showed up for Big Sis Bai’s first class.

After seeing the registration numbers, Big Sis Bai quickly switched to a slightly larger Body Cultivation venue for teaching.

If you ask me, most of these people were not trying to practice Body Cultivation with the attitude of learning Body Cultivation.

After seeing many familiar faces among them, I understood that they were merely there to show support.

Of course, there were also those genuinely there to learn Body Cultivation practice, such as Liv and Tao Ling, whom I still remembered.

These two were Senior Sisters I encountered at the Physical Arts Training Hall; one was a part-time coach there, and the other was a genius who had cultivated Body Cultivation Energy.

For the rest, only through the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell could one roughly know the situation.

But what could be confirmed was that a considerable portion of those who came today had witnessed my demonstrated methods and were now here due to my reputation.

Of course… if they were only hoping to become as strong as me by relying on the power of Body Cultivation, then I could only say that such a shortcut was completely unnecessary.

But I wouldn’t refuse them coming to class because of this.

Regardless of why they came here, since they were here, Big Sis Bai couldn’t let them lose their course fees, right?

Moreover, I was just a Teaching Assistant.

What is a Teaching Assistant?

One who assists in teaching, naturally, is a Teaching Assistant.

I watched Big Sis Bai teach them the practical experience regarding Body Cultivation the entire time.

At most, I only helped out with some insignificant small favors.

The class lasted half a day and only ended near noon.

After the students here left one by one, only Big Sis Bai and I remained.

“How was it? Do you feel it was boring?”

“It was alright. I think what Big Sis Bai said was very detailed. Even those people who obviously had no interest in Body Cultivation wasted so much effort.”

“After all, I am a teacher now. No matter what mindset they had when they came, I treat them equally. I am not responsible for them; I am only responsible for myself.”

“Then you are too dedicated. By the way, Big Sis Bai, you didn’t seem nervous at all during your first lecture.”

“Mmm, since advancing to Transcendent Witch, facing those students I knew or didn’t know before again, I no longer feel any stage fright,” Bai Yu admitted directly, stating her view.

“Oh, I know about that. I heard that after advancing to Witch, that leap originating from the life level makes non-Transcendent life forms look like ants… Is that true?”

I asked curiously.

I had heard about it before, but I still wanted to get a definitive answer from Big Sis Bai.

“Mmm… yes.”

Big Sis Bai was slightly stunned by my question but finally gave a very objective answer, “But Little Han, you are special to me.”

“Haha Don’t clarify so quickly. Am I the type who likes to pester you with tricky questions? I was just genuinely curious about this question,” I said nonchalantly.

After helping Big Sis Bai tidy up the equipment in the Body Cultivation Room, I also accompanied her to have lunch.

During the meal, we talked about many interesting things, and naturally, the topic also included the recent auction incident.

The great commotion in Modu caused by that auction had not subsided yet.

Even without deliberately inquiring, I still understood that this matter had not been closed.

After all, the impact of this incident had spread terrifyingly both outside the Academy and within the Transcendent Academies.

This had directly or indirectly caused too many people to feel a sense of crisis.

However, chatting with Big Sis Bai, the matter was widely circulated among the Transcendent Witches but didn’t seem urgent; more Witches adopted a stance of watching the show.

“By the way, Big Sis Bai, what do you usually do besides the scheduled courses each semester?”

It seemed she felt that continuing to discuss the aftermath of the auction would make the atmosphere heavy, so I proactively changed the topic.

Moreover, I was genuinely curious about what the teachers in the Main World usually did.

They surely couldn’t spend all their time teaching.

Thinking of Teacher Ji Niang, although I didn’t know much about her, she was also a first-time Counselor.

Before becoming a Counselor, she was probably similar to Big Sis Bai now.

But now she had started researching [Transcendent Knowledge] again and was so busy that I wouldn’t see her figure unless I actively sought her out.

“What I usually do… is just prepare lessons and make arrangements for this semester’s Body Cultivation course planning.”

“That shouldn’t take up much time, right?”

“Of course. Frankly, I have almost finished planning this semester’s courses. At most, I’ll make adjustments based on the actual situation later. I’ll arrange the remaining time myself. You should know that I’ve been learning the True Editing technique recently, right?”

“Mmm! So, Big Sis Bai, have you succeeded yet?”

“Not yet, but I recently received invitations from interest groups who are also learning True Editing. Exchanging ideas with them is better than me, a Witch, just puzzling over books alone.”

“Oh, I see.”

Hearing that Big Sis Bai also had her own interest groups and like-minded Witches… I had to admit I felt a bit yearning for it too.

“Yes. And what about you, Little Han? I heard you are planning some big move again recently? It’s already known by everyone in the Witch community.”

“Aiya It’s just a perfection plan for the Great Tree of Knowledge. Success is uncertain; it wasn’t a big deal initially, but I was forced to report it…”

“Alright Little Han, why are you complaining? If this isn’t a big deal, then not much else in the Witch Academy is a big deal,” Big Sis Bai teased gently.

“Just being modest.”

I explained.

I naturally knew that researching the Grand Spellbook was a very important matter in the Witch Academy; I just wanted to use a different way to give myself a kind of suggestion.

Different mindsets lead to different ways of doing the same thing.

If I considered perfecting the Great Tree of Knowledge a very important matter, even if my mindset was relaxed, there would be a faint pressure awaiting me.

If I considered it a commonplace matter, then I would feel a sense of natural ease when doing anything, and I could be more unrestrained without pressure.

As long as one can be unrestrained while working, the eruption of inspiration will be easier.

After sharing a pleasant lunch with Big Sis Bai, we parted ways for the time being.

However, this parting did not bring too much reluctance, because we both understood that as long as there was a bond in our hearts, meeting again would be an easy matter.

And Big Sis Bai also had an afternoon tea scheduled with her friends in the afternoon.

Of course, this tea party was proposed by the Witch from that mutual aid group studying True Editing together.

The main purpose was to gather and chat about their recent insights and ask questions to see if everyone could help solve them.

And I also had my own business to attend to in the afternoon: going to Sister Natalie to debug my Casket.

After all, the Casket was not truly completed yet.

Having it in my hands now was only the period of attunement and adjustment.

During the adjustment period, if I encountered any problems, I could seek out Sister Natalie for debugging at any time, and if I had any new inspiration, I could perfect it based on the original foundation.

Having used the Casket for these past few days, I had to admit it was very handy, but I could also feel some uncoordinated parts that needed slight improvement.

Of course, the main reason I made the trip was because of new inspiration regarding the Casket.

Previously, Natalie had added a function for ”annotation” to adapt it to the Casket.

But now, my ability regarding annotation had been optimized into a Rune Technique related to the Power of Knowledge.

So, this naturally needed modification.

Moreover, this modification was not a small one; this change would gradually deepen with my understanding of the Power of Knowledge.

My main goal in visiting Sister Natalie this time was to complete the preliminary debugging and communication preparations.

Only after clearly communicating the specific reasons and requirements for the changes would it be time to start construction.

And after that, for a period of time, I would perfect the Great Tree of Knowledge.

It could be foreseen that if the Great Tree of Knowledge was perfected smoothly, my understanding of the Power of Knowledge would advance to a higher level.

When that time came, adapting the Casket with this deeper understanding would save the constant need for debugging; it would be settled in one step.

After all, the role of the Casket as a weapon was merely supplementary enhancement for me, and its greatest function now was to develop extra applications of the Power of Knowledge, so I naturally focused more on adjustments in this area.

After bidding farewell to Big Sis Bai, I ambled my way over to the Alchemy section.

Since my mindset relaxed, I deliberately avoided using spells related to teleportation as much as possible, instead spending more time walking with my own two feet to experience the beautiful scenery I had previously overlooked.

This scenery included, but was not limited to, the Academy’s greenery, architecture, and… the students.

When I arrived at Natalie’s Alchemy Lab, I didn’t see Natalie’s figure.

The smart housekeeper in the lab merely guided me to the reception hall.

However, the moment I entered this time, I felt a bone-chilling cold permeating the room.

“The Master is currently at the underground testing ground. She is aware of the Guest’s arrival; the Guest may proceed to the testing ground independently,” the smart housekeeper also spoke up in a timely manner to remind me.

“So, she went to test something… My physical constitution even feels a bit cold… Could it be that Natalie is doing something strange with that Crown of Absolute Zero?”

I muttered, but still chose to go to the underground testing ground to see the situation for myself.

I was someone who couldn’t sit still.

Rather than drinking instant coffee upstairs waiting for Natalie to finish testing, I preferred to go down myself to see what was going on.

Since Natalie already knew of my visit, it wasn’t rude for me to go directly to find her.

However, the deeper I walked, the more terrifying the cold became.

I could even see the water vapor in the air condensing into frost clinging to the walls nearby.

And when I arrived at the testing ground, I was surprised to find that Tan Han was also here, with the Shop Manager standing beside her.

But upon thinking about it, it didn’t seem strange.

“Hi.”

I greeted them naturally, and Natalie also greeted me enthusiastically, stepping past Tan Han and the others.

It seemed that compared to communicating with Tan Han and the others, Natalie cared more about me.

“Little Han, long time no see. Is the Casket handy? I heard from Little Tan that you’ve fought several battles with it.”

“Of course, it’s handy. I’ve only found some minor issues so far… Sister Natalie, are you testing a weapon for Tan Han?”

I replied casually, then turned my gaze to Natalie’s hand.

It was a Long Wand.

The original crown had now been integrated into the design of the wand’s head section.

At first glance, there was indeed no sense of incongruity.

“Yes, the Staff of Absolute Cold, that’s what I named it. Not bad, right? You should have felt the power. It’s only after releasing part of the seal that it caused this situation in my alchemy lab. Even my air conditioning is less efficient than this.”

“Sorry for causing you trouble, Teacher,” Tan Han quickly apologized from the side.

“Aiya It’s fine. I asked you to come here to test it. The power truly exceeded my expectations. I hope you like it,” Natalie said while handing the magic wand to Tan Han.

“Of course, if you have any problems using it later, you can come to me for repairs.”

After Natalie finished speaking, she directly bypassed Tan Han and the others.

It wasn’t that she intentionally ignored Tan Han, but she was truly too focused on the Casket.

Due to Natalie’s excessive enthusiasm, I didn’t even have time to say a few words to Tan Han.

I hadn’t seen Tan Han much since coming out of the dungeon that time.

It seemed the Players’ action this time hadn’t caused her too much trouble.

A simple goodbye served as a temporary farewell.

After seeing Tan Han off, I was pulled by Sister Natalie to the reception hall to discuss modification suggestions for the Casket.
