Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 561: The Arrival of Students from Aphrodite Academy

The water in the bathtub was warm, leaning towards hot.

The water level covered my body, gently lapping at my neck.

Although the bathroom here used a bathtub rather than a luxurious bathing pool, the ergonomically designed bathtub structure made me feel very relaxed after lying down.

The water in the tub was stained a slight blue by the bath salts.

Although the effects of the bath salts were basically negligible for me, I was just enjoying the novelty.

Now, no one dared to disturb me.

Bored, I started to check the Destiny Gazing Technique information and the real-time status of the ’player’ I had previously marked.

In fact, at the first moment I engaged Lilianna, I had anticipated that it would cause a lot of commotion, but I didn’t expect it to cause so much.

But even so, the players didn’t make any moves at all.

This really showed that even when given an opportunity, they didn’t utilize it.

The intense battle between Lilianna and me attracted the attention of the vast majority of people and even tied up a lot of the preview’s security forces.

They didn’t act even in such a situation, which made me feel that those players seemed to be building up to something big.

Or perhaps their goal was not just the Heart of Cold Tide.

If so, what else was there?

There was... the Child of Destiny!

How many Children of Destiny might gather at this auction?

The three from the Witch Academy—I estimated that the Wan Shi Wu would definitely invite them.

They could not abandon the credit they had cultivated for these profits.

The invitation qualification for this auction, in addition to the fixed number of people each year, also included the newcomer group of each batch.

This invitation letter was a recognition of those newcomers’ qualifications, but wasn’t their perspective equally important?

And then... there were those from other academies.

Based on the simplified format presented by the Destiny Gazing Technique, the players had already locked onto the target they valued.

From the current situation, it could be analyzed that the target also seemed to be in the invited group, using this as a stepping stone to access this invitation-only auction.

The macro information of the Destiny Gazing Technique was roughly this.

The more information I gathered, the more detailed I could interpret the Destiny Gazing Technique’s information.

As for the rest, it was naturally a matter of waiting.

Anyway, I wasn’t in a hurry right now.

After closing my eyes and enjoying the last moments, I contentedly got up from the bathtub and went to the shower to rinse the bath salts off my body.

With a snap of my fingers, the excess water separated, and I put on a light Nightdress.

I had to say, the Disguise Technique was great to use.

After changing into this Nightdress, I immediately flopped onto the soft, large bed.

My wonderful night had begun.

But the night of others seemed to be less wonderful.

Tonight, practically every club with a bit of capability had obtained the recorded footage of the battle.

The people from the two major clubs did not expect that this casual attempt would cause them such a huge problem.

The most headaches were probably with the people from the Witch’s Secret Realm Club, after all, the person who fought the opponent nominally belonged to them, and she was a person at the Teaching Assistant level.

If it were before, they would naturally be careful when probing someone at the Teaching Assistant level.

Moreover, everyone developed and grew step by step, and their growth trajectory in the Witch Academy was easy to check—they basically knew the roots and the bottom line.

But this time, they had to admit they were rash.

Considering the opponent was only a newcomer who enrolled half a year ago, they hastily executed a violent plan.

The opponent directly flipped the table and slapped them hard in return.

This was far too different from their prediction.

Such a person was bound to become a Transcendent Witch and lord over them.

However... this did not mean that they were unqualified to become a Transcendent Witch.

Speaking of the probability of achieving Transcendent Witch status, they were the most likely batch.

But the simple choice of advancing to Transcendent Witch and leaving the Main World was a step that many people were hesitant to take.

People cannot be without attachments.

The group destined to succeed must be mostly those from families with excellent conditions and harmonious family environments.

Otherwise, how could they raise such healthy, outstanding, confident, and spiritual children?

To make such children choose to give up everything they currently possessed and become a so-called Transcendent, abandoning their relatives and companions for the sake of so-called power and strength, they could not be so heartless.

As for the families who treated their children as a gamble or an investment, the children had no advantage from the start.

Hard work... who doesn’t work hard?

But a person’s character truly determines too many things, and those who eventually claw their way up are also destined to leave their original families without hesitation when they encounter an opportunity.

Although the Witch Academy did not explicitly state it, among the students who chose to graduate rather than complete their studies, the vast majority indeed came from very poor family backgrounds.

In fact, among those who could choose to advance to Transcendent but did not, those with happy families and living parents were also the most numerous.

This was enough to explain many problems.

All Transcendent Academies actually knew about this issue, but they all chose not to intervene aggressively, because it was impossible to intervene, and aggressive intervention might even cause a rebellious outcome.

Thus, there was no need to do something thankless.

This conclusion was actually the result of multiple attempts by several Transcendent Academies who refused to believe in the predetermined outcome.

This phenomenon originated from the dominating guidance and consciousness shaping of the World Consciousness and Earth Vein Chains on native life, and was called ”Shackle-type World Belonging.”

This was also one of the reasons why Transcendent Academies mostly adopted a hands-off approach toward their students.

There was no need to invest too much specifically in one student.

When a student became outstanding, they would easily be noticed by the World Consciousness.

Then they would be identified as a resource-type talent and would likely shine brightly in the Main World.

After that, this student would be guided post-naturally to form various unbreakable bonds with people to strengthen the birth of their sense of belonging to the Main World.

The World Consciousness forcefully interfered with individual will through this method, in order to cope with the loss of talent.

During the stage when the World Script was not activated, it was these people who bore the destiny of the world’s direction.

And as the Script opened, these people also bore a part of the Destiny, but they would also become helpers to the Child of Destiny, because they were already one of the invisible driving forces of Destiny circulation, and even a type of consumable resource that led to the achievement of the Child of Destiny.

...

There were too many people who lost sleep tonight, and too many people went crazy over it.

A new day dawned.

At this moment, the hotel had been restored to its original state as they had promised.

I just didn’t know how many people were exhausted that night.

But I had to admire their strong execution.

And on this new day, even more people came to participate in this preview.

Many of them were individuals who had heard the news released last night.

When I came down for breakfast in the morning, I did notice that the way many people looked at me was different from before.

That gaze carried awe and admiration, or they simply dared not meet my eyes.

Perhaps this was the notoriety effect brought about by establishing my authority.

If I was previously like cotton that anyone could pinch, now I was a powerhouse who could pinch them into cotton at any time.

The last person who provoked me had already been carried away.

No one wanted to be the next unlucky person to be pressed to the ground and rubbed with a book.

I was somewhat unable to accept this transformation for a time.

After all, being watched so closely everywhere I went was not good.

In any case... there were gains and losses.

At least no one would look for trouble in front of me.

After enjoying a very palatable breakfast, I ran into Jiao Xiaoshuang again.

Her arrival was not only to continue fulfilling her duty as my exclusive receptionist, but also to bring apologies and compensation from the Wan Shi Wu.

They admitted that part of the reason for this incident was their negligence, which ultimately led to the disaster, but they didn’t mention a single word about the matter of compensation.

Since the compensation was already in place, I naturally wouldn’t pursue anything further.

However, what surprised me was that Jiao Xiaoshuang also brought another apology and compensation on behalf of the Witch’s Secret Realm Club.

The one who wrote this apology letter was Tracy.

That senior girl who took the written and interview Teaching Assistant exam in the same batch as me.

She was now a Teaching Assistant just like me, and I still had an impression of her.

In the letter, she explained the responsibility of her club for this incident and also apologized on behalf of Lilianna for her rashness.

Looking at this letter and the compensation... I have to say, they knew how to conduct themselves.

At least my impression of this club had slightly improved at the moment.

But from the moment they had the idea of testing my strength, I knew that they were not my kind of people.

I wouldn’t have a good impression of them because of this small profit.

Perhaps I would greet them with a smile the next time we met, but that was just my own cultivation.

If they wanted to use me, there was absolutely no chance.

After experiencing this provocation, I suddenly understood a principle: not getting involved in someone else’s scheme is also a reflection of one’s ability.

However, due to the circumstances, I naturally had to enter the auction scheme they created.

That was because I also had my own reasons.

It just depended on who stood at a higher level.

It was still uncertain who would use whom in the end.

Moreover, I came with the mentality of watching the show.

After dealing with these trivial matters, I came to the less crowded book corridor again and started my quiet study.

I found that if I were the me from before, facing a major event, I would probably find it difficult to concentrate on reading a book, just like during the competition when I couldn’t concentrate on the Runology book in the spectator seats.

But now, I found that I was gradually becoming capable of it.

The urgency in my heart no longer seemed to be a reason, and I was no longer afraid of feeling anxious when the predetermined time was about to arrive at a critical moment.

Because I knew that as long as I wanted to keep reading, time would reserve the appropriate time for me.

Not long after the morning began, the hotel welcomed another batch of guests.

A unified motorcade drove into the hotel area, and the Attendants waiting outside seemed to have been prepared for this.

As dozens of beautiful figures walked out of the cars one after another after the Attendants opened the doors, the morning sun shone on them.

They tidied their light-colored robes, with exquisite belts tied around their waists, embroidered with the School Emblem representing their academy.

Just after getting out of the car, they subtly centered themselves around the few people at the front.

These guests, who had traveled a long distance, were the Forest Elves from Aphrodite Academy.

Aphrodite Academy was also invited to this auction.

Under the guidance of the Attendants and receptionists, they entered the hotel spontaneously and orderly, handing over their Invitation Letters along the way.

Their steps were light and elegant, like elves unintentionally straying into the city, yet still carrying that unique elven temperament.

The people around them cast curious glances, seemingly wondering what kind of guests had such a grand procession.

The elves seemed accustomed to such gazes, maintaining a composed expression.

Only the few slightly more immature young boys and girls in the back felt a little uneasy, but under the lead of their seniors, they did not appear very constrained.

For the subsequent arrangements, the elves in the front were clearly familiar with the process.

They elegantly entered the lobby, politely nodding to the receptionists and passersby.

Both the guests and the receptionists here were captivated by their demeanor upon this first meeting.

The receptionist quickly completed all the procedures for them.

After all, they were guests who had traveled a long distance and naturally needed accommodation arranged before the end of the auction.

The elves did not need to maintain that aloof elegance and would also gather to chat and laugh.

They discussed the auction, or some recent hot topics, and brought the newcomers, who were visiting for the first time, to familiarize themselves with the atmosphere here.

After going through some necessary procedures, many elves dispersed in twos and threes.

Facing elves with such an aura, many people had the impulse to go up and strike a conversation.

Whether it was the noble-tempered male elves or the gracious female elves, their appearance almost perfectly catered to human aesthetic preference.

It wasn’t until many people mustered the courage to approach and were subsequently rebuffed that they understood that elves were also a proud race.

But proud as they were, they would still come to the auction hosted in the Witch’s territory for good items.

“Beibei, are you still worried?”

At this moment, a tall elf girl came up to another girl with a concerned look.

The girl called Beibei was Yao Beijuan, a newcomer in Aphrodite Academy this year.

As one of the few Children of Destiny in Aphrodite Academy, she was destined to become a powerhouse at the very least, and naturally received more attention from her seniors.

And what Yao Beijuan was worried about was naturally related to her parents.

Her parents had a sudden accident recently, near the start of the semester, and were hospitalized due to a traffic accident.

This was not an accident but a premeditated attack!

With both her parents hospitalized, if they hadn’t been lucky, she might not have been able to see them again.

When this matter was reported to Aphrodite Academy, it was immediately issued as an investigation mission.

However, after several days, there was still no news.

Her parents were now under the protection of the academy’s radiation zone, which temporarily reassured them.

“Hmm, let’s not talk about this anymore. I believe in the academy’s power.”

“Then stop looking so glum and cheer up.”

The elf senior girl consoled her, then looked towards the representatives of the Witch Academy approaching from a distance.

There was a reason why Aphrodite Academy came with such a large entourage this time.

In previous years, they would either come separately or not at all, as it was quite troublesome for them to make the trip.

The reason for so many people coming this time was also to confirm one thing.

That was the partial information leak they received from the Wan Shi Wu of the Witch Academy two days ago.

They seemed to know some information about the desperate criminals currently active outside the Transcendent Academies.

They guessed that the culprits who attacked Yao Beijuan’s family were from the same group, so they brought Yao Beijuan along.

“How about we grab some breakfast first? After all, we arrived here so early and had to take a car to get here, and we haven’t eaten breakfast yet. Then I’ll accompany you to look around the auction preview, how does that sound?”

“Hmm, alright...”

Yao Beijuan nodded accordingly, but judging by her appearance, she seemed a bit absent-minded, clearly thinking about other things.
