Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 565: The Attempt at Soul Mimicry

“Beibei, are you okay?”

After my figure completely disappeared from this area, the elf senior girl next to Yao Beijuan immediately stepped forward to comfort her.

“I’m fine... I, I’m not as fragile as you seniors think.”

Yao Beijuan said this, but the fluctuation of her emotions was still visible to the naked eye.

They quickly left the area, comforting her along the way, especially Orian.

“It’s okay. Didn’t you say you’d already let go? Don’t overthink it. Look on the bright side.”

Soon, more elves noticed Yao Beijuan’s situation when they returned and quickly came to greet her.

Aila saw the sisters being so caring towards Beibei that she couldn’t even get a word in, so she stopped approaching and looked at Orian, who had also stopped walking.

“Stop, Orian, come here.”

Aila called out in a low voice.

The sound was not loud but enough for the other party to hear.

Then she dragged the other party to a corner.

“Orian, you know, don’t you? I know you. You are the best at gathering information. How could you not know that Yang Yuehan is the boyfriend Beibei was talking about!”

“Correction... girlfriend. Oh no, ex-girlfriend.”

Orian seemed unfazed by the other party pinning her against the wall, even having the leisure to correct some mistakes in the other party’s addresses.

“I’m not joking with you!”

Aila’s tone carried a hint of anger.

“What do you mean by this?”

“I don’t mean anything.”

She seemed to be formulating her words to be honest with her, or rather, she had no intention of hiding it from the other party. “Do you know how shocked I was when I found out this news?”

“You knew, indeed!”

“Yes, but so what? Do you have a way to keep Beibei from finding out? And... what’s the point of hiding it?”

“What does this have to do with you keeping it a secret? You were the one who encouraged me to go up and talk to her just now, so this was all planned by you?”

Aila ignored the other party’s barrage of rhetorical questions and directly questioned her.

The moment she thought of her actions earlier, she felt regret.

If she had known the final result would be this, she definitely wouldn’t have gone to talk to her!

“What do you mean, ’planned by me’? I won’t admit that. Didn’t the final outcome turn out good? We just played the clown, letting the other party have a laugh. We didn’t suffer any loss, but we resolved a potential conflict.”

Orian said with an indifferent look, then her expression became serious again.

“You know how terrifying the Witch Academy is! You’re not a child anymore. Haven’t you recognized some truths at Aphrodite Academy?”

“You...”

“Isn’t it true? We should be past the stage of acting on impulse.”

Seeing Aila’s tone weaken, she gently held the other party’s supporting forearm and said with a look of emotion, “After our interaction with this Teaching Assistant Xiao Han this time, I found that we were actually overthinking it. She is more perceptive than we thought.”

“What do you mean?”

“You are still stuck on the way Beibei described that guy, unwilling to open your eyes to see the other person’s true appearance. A powerhouse who can rise in a short time is a steadfast and powerful monster internally. The only word in Beibei’s description that can be believed is probably ’monster.’ Opportunities and resources are certainly important, but they are not the decisive factors.”

“So you’re trying to say that Beibei lied to us?”

Aila asked.

Although her tone was questioning, she already had the answer in her heart but was blinded by emotion and unwilling to face it.

“Hehe.”

Orian laughed at Aila.

She didn’t answer the question but continued with her own thoughts.

“I’ve met many men, and I understand many men. I roughly know what kind of man is most likely to succeed. The most terrifying thing about that Xiao Han is that she was lucky enough to enter the Witch Academy and possesses an awakened masculine mindset.”

“The problem now is not whether I lied or not. Beibei can’t accept the mental disparity of this long-expired relationship. This is a kind of comparison psychology that most girls have: they can’t stand their ex doing better after they left. This subconsciously leads to the conclusion that they were the burden, and they can’t accept this answer.”

“Then what’s the point of you doing this?”

“I told you the point: resolving the potential problem that is Yang Yuehan! That is the biggest benefit. Beibei’s problem is her own; she needs to figure it out herself!”

“But did you ever consider Beibei?”

“Beibei is a Child of Destiny! Don’t forget why we approached Beibei. You are raising her into a good-for-nothing... Huff... Sorry, I said that too harshly.”

Orian took a deep breath at the end and ultimately admitted her mistake first.

Of course, Orian clearly understood that she wasn’t wrong; she just wanted to ease the current atmosphere first.

After a moment of silence, and after both parties had calmed down, Aila was the first to break the stillness.

“No... perhaps... you’re not wrong... but I still feel that it wasn’t necessary to put Beibei through this for the sake of that Yang Yuehan...”

“You still haven’t seen clearly. Maybe you don’t have a standard for judgment in your heart yet. Let me ask you this... I’ll give you a chance. If you became a Child of Destiny, would you dare to destroy the Seed of Destiny?”

“Destroy the Seed of Destiny? Why? This...”

“That Yang Yuehan dared to.”

Orian directly interrupted Aila’s attempt to continue speaking and then explained further.

“And... that’s what she did. If it were before, I’d think she was an idiot. But until I heard the teachers of our Aphrodite Academy mention that Teaching Assistant Xiao Han was amazed by this act of hers, I understood. We are the fools. The other party stands at a higher level than us.”

“A higher level? What level exactly?”

Aila asked, still unwilling.

“How would I know? If I knew, I would probably be as amazing as Xiao Han.”

“Tch.”

“What is that supposed to mean? You were the one who brought me here, and in the end, I lectured you, and you’re turning around and mocking me?”

“Who knows what you’re thinking? All that high-minded talk, it’s exactly on par with your ability to hook up with those men!”

“Well, thank you for the compliment. Since you said that, I guess I’ll go see how that little hottie is doing. I think if I apologize, he should forgive me for neglecting him earlier.”

...

Not long ago, after I left the restaurant, I saw Jiao Xiaoshuang outside.

It seemed she had woken up.

Through the Earth Vein Information Appraisal Spell, I understood that she had rushed over after receiving a call, likely from the restaurant manager.

I was too lazy to find out more about these trivial matters.

However, she didn’t dare to complain that I had just left without even calling her.

Instead, she kept apologizing after she arrived.

“Alright, I don’t care about these things. The auction should start today, right? What is the actual time it is scheduled to start?”

I interrupted her and asked.

Although I knew the scheduled start time, there were certainly some discrepancies.

“The preview will end around eleven-thirty. The time after that is for dining, and the official auction will be held at one-thirty, officially starting at two. This period is for removing and securing the exhibited items. The subsequent auction is not a physical item auction. Before the official start at two, guests have the right to reconfirm the item division, auction rules, and even the detailed information of specific items with the receptionists or staff.”

“Then it seems there is still plenty of time.”

“Yes. In every auction, quite a few guests arrive on the day itself. They spend the morning half of the day learning about the items they need, and then bid for them and leave in the afternoon.”

“No wonder they left half a day. I have one more question. After these items are removed, besides the way of bidding for them, there should be no other way to access these relatively valuable items, right?”

Since it was a non-physical item auction, they would display a picture and directly proceed with bidding.

After all, the items were displayed before the auction.

If one was still unsure, then one simply shouldn’t bid.

No one was forcing you.

At least the auction house was doing its best.

Moreover, this preview even required full-time prevention against theft and robbery by some people, plus the subsequent removal process.

The more procedures, the more likely problems were to occur.

It could be said that for an auction to reach this level, their sincerity was at its maximum.

However, in my opinion, this process was likely built upon the absolute strength of the Witch Academy.

It was just that now... there were a few more ’players’.

After understanding the specific situation, I also found an excuse to send Jiao Xiaoshuang away.

Anyway, she was no use to me, and I naturally disliked having a shadow follow me.

Jiao Xiaoshuang didn’t fight for it much, nor did she say anything about wanting to stay by my side.

After all, I was the guest.

If she didn’t listen to my words, wouldn’t that directly confirm the fact that ”I was sent to keep an eye on you”?

However, before she left, I learned some other information from her: my No. 1 bid card came with an exclusive auction box.

This essentially meant that I didn’t have to sit on a small bench with others in a super large auction hall.

And this box had another advantage: I wouldn’t have to run around to different auction halls.

Since there were quite a few items being auctioned this time, the auction was not held in just one hall.

Even one hall was divided into several batches, corresponding to different items.

If the items I wanted to bid for were in different auction halls, I would need to plan my time to move between halls.

If the timings clashed and I didn’t want to miss out, I would need to trouble the staff for professional proxy bidding services.

This proxy bidding also required prior communication regarding the acceptable price range for the items and many other trivial issues.

My box, however, directly provided a real-time feed of all the auction halls.

Since it was a non-physical item auction, being in the box was essentially the same as watching a live broadcast; it was just going through the auction process.

After understanding all of this, I was originally planning to go back to the book corridor to read some more to pass the time.

However, a piece of information directly interrupted this simple plan of mine.

It was a reply from the two Witch Sisters whom I had previously sent the compiled information about the Enlightenment Meditation Spell to.

They had taken over the relevant data immediately and asked Fool’s Blue, Fool’s Luck, and the others to help with the testing.

The first-hand data had been tested and shared with the Great Tree of Knowledge.

Subsequent testing would involve more aspects.

Afterward... they also indicated that they would participate in the experiment themselves, which was the unverified conjecture I mentioned in the compiled information: whether Witches and ordinary people could learn the Enlightenment Meditation Spell.

They also asked for my authorization, asking if they could create a formal Spellbook if the effect was good.

I naturally wouldn’t care much about this.

Compared to these things, I was more concerned about the effect of the Enlightenment Meditation Spell.

Based on the information they shared, they must have discovered something valuable to send the test data so urgently.

After all, how long had it been since I finished compiling the information?

During this time, I had only Meditated briefly and had breakfast.

Strictly speaking, it was still morning.

So, I returned to my suite.

After all, I felt like the book corridor was getting crowded for some reason.

Back in my room, I lay down on the comfortable large bed, then chose a comfortable posture to start checking the information.

The current experimental data was from Fool’s blue, Fool’s Luck, and Fool’s Fruit, three Fool’s Dream Clan members cooperating in the test.

First was the difficulty of learning.

For the Fool’s Dream Clan, the difficulty of getting started was not high.

Although it was a spell, the Fool’s Dream Clan could still learn it.

Next was the use of the Enlightenment Meditation Spell.

It was more convenient than the ”Fool’s Dream Drink Meditation Method” for resting, as they could easily enter a state similar to the Fool’s Dream Drink Meditation Method’s cultivation.

It seemed they reached the same goal by different means.

The Fool’s Dream Drink Meditation Method relies on rest to allow the cultivator to reach a certain state, while the Enlightenment Meditation Spell relies on the power of the spell to directly enter a similar state.

Then they tested the Enlightenment Meditation Spell itself.

The conclusion was that this spell is a special type of spell where the caster and the casting target overlap, so it cannot be cast externally.

Therefore, only by learning this spell can one experience the effect it brings.

And the Fool’s Dream Clan, who entered the special meditation state, could cooperate with my experiments more efficiently.

If the Enlightenment Meditation Spell only had this effect... it would undoubtedly be an unsuccessful, but not quite a failure, modification.

However, other data had not been tested yet.

I was very much looking forward to the final test.

Even the simple Meditation Spell, when used, could develop wisdom.

I didn’t believe that the effect of the Enlightenment Meditation Spell was merely achieving a state of cultivation in the form of a spell.

At the very least... it should achieve an effect on par with the Meditation Spell.

Perhaps this spell could even be promoted to the entire Witch Academy, after all, a method like developing wisdom... is somewhat terrifying.

But this idea was just something I was thinking about.

So, with this in mind, my consciousness sank into the Sea of Consciousness.

I prepared to try again.

With my current initial understanding of the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell, perhaps this time there would be some progress.

My body tilted once more, and I entered the Sea of the Dream State from the Sea of Consciousness, then called out to Fool’s Blue, Fool’s Luck, and the others.

According to the information just received, they should still be continuing to try the Enlightenment Meditation Spell right now.

Following my call, I could already vaguely hear the voices of the Fool’s Dream Clan, and I acted again without the slightest hesitation.

“Big Sis Xiao Han.”

The first figure to appear was indeed Fool’s Luck.

As the phantom power of the Tree of Wisdom’s Enlightenment emerged, the phantom figure of Fool’s Luck

appeared again.

This time, the figure, which was a continuation of the one that appeared due to a coincidence, lasted for several seconds, but ultimately Fool’s Luck’s body still turned into a bubble in my Sea of the Dream State.

“It looks like the idea is correct...”

Looking at my now empty hands, I muttered to myself with a calm expression.

All I faced now was failure, and while I still faced failure this time, there was progress.

This indicated that my idea of retaining the consciousness of the Fool’s Dream Clan in my Sea of the Dream State was feasible.

And this idea was to complete the attempt at ”Soul Mimicry” of the Fool’s Dream Clan using the Great Wisdom Enlightenment Spell.
