Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 254: Drawing Parallels Between Skills

Many things recorded in Sofili’s notes were, in my opinion at this moment, still very important content.

This was a skill, a skill of guiding elemental energy with Mental Power.

Mental Power was the first transcendent thing we came into contact with.

Like Spirit Vision, many people had mastered it before enrolling in a Transcendent Academy.

And the Witch Academy’s Witch Meditation Method was a cultivation method to train Mental Power faster, and also a skill to condense Mental Strength Threads.

This skill could greatly increase the efficiency of Mental Power’s interference with transcendent energy, and also lay a solid foundation for Mental Power to control Magic Power.

And during this period, one could also come into contact with spellbooks and use them to cast spells.

Before that, our Mental Power could actually already interfere with transcendent energy.

For example, the elements that were everywhere in the places we were.

I had tried to stir the elements in the air with my Mental Power before, which was as magical as stirring water with chopsticks.

And Sofili’s notes were about the skill of how to use Mental Power to guide elements to cultivate specific transcendent plants.

Perhaps Sofili hadn’t noticed, or maybe she had noticed but didn’t care.

If this technique was applied to spells, casting aside the framework of the spellbook, I seemed to be able to ”hand-rolling-fireball”!

Of course, this was based on my complete understanding of the Fireball spellbook.

Only by understanding the spellbook and the spell ritual could I hand rolling a fireball.

At this moment, I was copying all these key points into the Memory Bookshelf, which counted as going over them in my mind again.

After finishing this part of the recording, I began to try to hand-roll a Fireball.

There was a very different aspect between a hand-rolling-fireball and one released from a spellbook, which was the issue of transcendent energy.

A spellbook’s Fireball spell converted Magic Power into fire elements to form the fireball, but hand-rolling was different; it directly mobilized the fire elements in the air.

Like this...

I extended my hand, constructed the Fireball spell ritual with my Mental Power, and drew on the ”meager” fire elements in the air.

Then, a spark appeared and was quickly extinguished...

”Tsk... that’s it?”

I frowned, a bit puzzled.

Even if the fire elements in the air were thin, it shouldn’t be like this, right?

Or was it that the Fireball spell required too many fire elements, or that the energy level of transcendent energy like Magic Power was very high, and the converted fire elements were also very large, and that was the power a normal Fireball spell could achieve?

I tried again many times and got the same result.

The best time only produced a small flame...

I seemed to somewhat understand why the Witch Academy used spellbooks.

If everyone started using spells like this, it would probably greatly discourage their interest in learning, right?

And I considered myself very knowledgeable about the Fireball spell.

Maybe it would be different when my Mental Power could interfere with Magic Power.

But my intuition told me that things wouldn’t be that simple.

Because if Mental Power could interfere with Magic Power, many things would actually not be that troublesome.

Then the value of spellbooks would greatly decrease, at least for the senior sisters.

Then they wouldn’t crave spellbooks so much.

And I also clearly understood what a spellbook represented.

It was a spell platform, the final result of connecting with the True Editing technology, from prototype spells to derivative spells...

Wait, this logic isn’t right.

Even if I can’t do True Editing, I can still derive spells.

Without the framework of a spellbook, I should still be able to use them.

So, spellbooks must have other things that I don’t understand, or even functions that I’m not qualified to access.

Speaking of things I’m not qualified to access... I thought of the domain-ization of spells, a real domain, not a spellbook with a domain effect like Fire Rain Domain.

Teacher Ji Niang had said that Fire Rain Domain was not a true ”Domain”, but a spell derivative inspired by a domain.

Thinking of this, I shook my head, throwing out the unrealistic things.

These were all useless fantasies that couldn’t even help me derive spells, so they were naturally useless.

Then, after giving myself a suggestion to concentrate with Unity of Knowledge and Action, I began to organize the remaining notes again.

This notebook was no longer just about cultivating transcendent plants, but also a skill in the use of transcendent energy.

It seemed to have some similarities with my ”Resonance” skill, but my Resonance was simpler and cruder.

Perhaps I could use this skill to completely perfect my Resonance derivative techniques.

Only by mastering the so-called real skills could I understand how crude the modding created by my previous cleverness was.

I think Teacher Ji saw it in a similar way back then, right?

No wonder she told me to calm down and stop playing around...

And at this moment, I also became interested in the other skills in the secret realm.

At first, I had a slight disdain for those useless skills.

For example, before I came into contact with the cultivation skill, I didn’t expect that the skills inside had techniques for guiding transcendent energy.

Maybe this is drawing parallels?

Perhaps it’s also a manifestation of flexible learning and application.

When night fell, I finally finished recording all the key points.

Of course, it was naturally impossible to record everything.

I’m not a superman; it’s enough to take the essence.

The rest would depend on fate.

And during this period, I also felt the shortcomings of the Memory Bookshelf.

I had to write it myself... this was somewhat not very magical.

Spells are used to reduce trouble.

Whether it’s a physical solution or a magical one, I don’t like holding a pen to do half a day of copying.

It’s time-consuming, laborious, and wastes my hand.

If I want to learn many things quickly and in large quantities, the current state of the Memory Bookshelf is already somewhat unable to keep up with my thoughts.

If this Memory Bookshelf could record everything I see, and be controllable, it would be perfect.

After a brief thought, I temporarily divided the development of the Memory Bookshelf spellbook into three stages.

I was now in the first stage, where I had to copy it myself for the spell to remember it.

Next would be a two-step plan based on my own situation: what I see is what I learn, saving the trouble of doing it by hand, and using sight as a medium to record knowledge and content.

The third step would be: what I perceive is what I learn.

After all, reading books also takes time, and you have to read and understand sentence by sentence.

So, I would directly use Mental Power to perceive and record the content.

Although the third step was a bit fanciful, it wasn’t impossible.

As for why I had to go through three steps instead of one, it’s naturally because I knew my own limits.

If I asked Teacher Ji Niang about the second step, it might be possible to achieve it, but for the third step, I’d better save myself the trouble.

I can’t do it, I can’t do anything.

And just the second step would be enough for me to use for a long time.

Sure enough, laziness is what drives people to keep making progress.

After a busy day, I rarely gave myself some rest time.

I really should change this urgent habit of mine.

Having entered the Witch Academy, no one was forcing me to move forward.

The only one forcing me was probably myself.

There were also many other factors.

Because I should be considered at the forefront of the newcomer grade, not making progress meant falling behind and being surpassed by others.

The earlier the stage, the more obvious this kind of leapfrogging would be.

Only in the later stages of settling down would one not be so impetuous.

But my impetuous mood couldn’t stop at this moment.

I longed to communicate with these guys in the dorm, and also hoped not to be separated from the group, to see what normal students were learning at this moment, and what they had learned...

At this moment, a lot of discussions on the academy network were about this exchange competition.

As the fermentation and climax passed, it had now entered a second fermentation.

Perhaps the aftereffects of the exchange competition had not yet passed.

There were still countless senior sisters talking about related information at this moment.

And there were also many senior sisters who edited videos, who would edit various exciting clips.

Of course, among them, Tan Han and I were naturally the main force of the videos.

Various famous quotes we said in the exchange competition had become memes that were spreading, and various wonderful pictures or weird pictures had become emojis.

I was already used to this.

Wasn’t this kind of operation very normal in my previous life?

Or rather, in the outside society of this world now, it was also like this.

But the emoji that most stirred my emotions was none other than the world-famous painting ”Little Han is sleeping.”!

They took the emojis of me in the competition and the exchange competition and did a second edit...

And the extensions from this, such as ”Waking up grumpy” and ”Not fully awake”, were also infuriating.

But after the emotions passed, the emojis that should be collected still had to be collected.

Can’t I use my own emojis myself?

They can play with them if they want to.

Anyway, I don’t care, and I even feel it’s not bad.

As long as my ideological realm is on a higher level, they can’t laugh at me.

Of course, there were also many sour comments.

They were very envious of the rewards for this exchange competition.

After all, not every batch had such treatment.

They even tried to induce contradictions among the newcomers.

I looked at these comments with my phone, and I could naturally see clearly what they were trying to do.

However, as expected, quite a few people were indeed provoked.

After experiencing great storms and understanding many things, I also didn’t express my own opinion on this.

After all, I was the biggest beneficiary of this exchange competition.

My words naturally wouldn’t be convincing to them.

And... those who can be instigated by such remarks to fight for benefits that don’t belong to them, what kind of people they are, naturally needs no further explanation.

Wasting even a little bit of time on them would be disrespectful to myself.

”Little Han!”

At this moment, a sudden knock on the door pulled me back to reality, and I also realized that I was so addicted to the internet...

”Hmm? Dongli Yiren, what’s up? Just open the door.”

I put away my phone without a change in expression and said.

Then I saw Dongli Yiren pushing open the door a little reservedly.

Her gaze subconsciously swept across my bedroom, and finally focused on the open notebook on my desk.

”That, I’ve thought it through...”

”Thought what through?”

I asked.

”I’ve thought it through... I, I want to take this path!”

Dongli Yiren said to me.

”Since you’ve thought it through, there’s no need to come over and tell me specially. But since you’re here, I want to ask why? Don’t you yearn for those transcendent powers, those powerful... violent things?”

After all, boys like this kind of thing, right?

Could it be that Dongli Yiren had completely fallen from thought to body?

”I... actually, it’s not like I can’t talk about this kind of thing.”

Dongli Yiren leaned against my door and closed it with a snap.

It seemed she didn’t want to be heard from outside.

”Actually, I don’t really like it. Now... I’m not afraid of you laughing at me for saying it. I was blown up by a firecracker when I was a child and was sent to the hospital. It left a deep impression on me, so I’m actually a little afraid of those spells. Plus, I’ve muddled along until now and I don’t even have a single spellbook. Guan Qiuling has one, and she got it through her own ability. Yu Yetian doesn’t care about spellbooks at all, but the way she studies is just like you... maybe I really should change my track...”

”Is that so?”

But Dongli Yiren’s words also surprised me a bit.

I didn’t expect that there were already two people in our dorm who had obtained spellbooks.

No wonder Hong Chenyi would beg me to take her to a secret realm.

Although she might not be clear about the dangers of the secret realm, she knew one thing: if she could do what I did, then even if she knew she couldn’t reach my level, her achievements would at least be at the forefront of the class.

”Mm, just like that. And I... am also very short on money.”

”I didn’t expect you to tell me so frankly. But maybe concocting potions will be more expensive? Have you thought about this problem?”

”I’ve thought about it, but this is a long-term process. I know that there are courses on potion-making in the future. I will complete my accumulation in the field of potions before then, and seize the opportunity to learn. Although I can’t say it will be enough to make the teachers’ eyes light up, at least when choosing my own teacher later, I can make an impression on the teacher.”

”You’ve thought that far ahead?”

”Mm, after all, this is no joke. I only have this one life, and I can’t afford to regret it. Although I’ve seen that concocting potions and elixirs is very talent-dependent, I also entered a top-tier academy with my own strength. Even at the Witch Academy, I have this confidence.”

”It’s good that you have confidence. Then I won’t say anything more.”

I organized the notebooks on the table and handed them over.

”This...”

”Of course it’s for you. I got this from that senior sister. I’ve finished reading the parts that are useful to me, but this should be enough for you to study for a long time.”

”Fin... finished reading?”

Dongli Yiren’s eyes widened, and then she took the several notebooks from me.

Just flipping through the pages of these notebooks would take a long time, right?

”It’s just that I’ve remembered the parts that are important to me. The rest is up to fate. You just don’t learn from me.”

”Mm, thank you.”

”Still saying thank you to me? That’s being too polite. Anyway, I’ll leave those transcendent plants upstairs to you, okay? Speaking of plants... I still have a lot of seeds, seedlings, and side buds here. You can take them with you too. They take up space here. They’ve been treated with a special method, so don’t open them rashly, or they might wither.”

”This... are these all?”

Dongli Yiren’s eyes widened, a little in disbelief.

”Mm, this morning’s harvest.”

And the bulk of it was with Sofili and the others.

I just took some of each and got this much.

You can imagine how much they have.

But I also gained Sofili’s notes, and the experience and experience of exploring secret realms that money can’t buy.

”By the way, there are dangerous seedlings and side buds like the Giant Corrosive Thorn Vine and Dark Thorn Grass in here. If you plant them, be careful not to get yourself into trouble. Go to the library and read more books.”

At this moment, I felt like I was nagging like an old mother, which made me a little unable to hold back.

”Anyway, that’s all. I won’t give you any more pointers.”

”Thank you, you’ve helped me so much, I don’t even know how to repay you...”

Dongli Yiren said, at a loss, holding so many things that she could barely carry.

”You’re still worrying about this? Let me teach you how to deal with this situation. You just have to work hard, and at most, report your progress to me regularly to give me some sense of accomplishment in mentoring you. Not just me, it’s the same for anyone in the future. In the future, when you become a master of potions or something, I’ll be the roommate of a master of potions.”

”Thank you for telling me this...”

”It’s nothing. Let’s go. I don’t like other people coming into my bedroom. Remember to help me close the door when you leave. But... can your hands still reach it?”

”They can, they definitely can. I won’t trouble you.”

Dongli Yiren said quickly.

Even holding so many things, she insisted on helping me.

It seems that what I just said had stimulated her.
