Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 253: A Heart-to-Heart with Dongli Yiren

”Bury the Wind Leaf Grass seeds in the soil... need to maintain soil humidity... wait, how do I measure this soil humidity?”

”Just open your phone and search for it, you still need to ask such a question?”

”To test soil humidity, you need to dry the soil at a temperature of 100°C to 105°C for 7 hours... wait, if I dry it, can I still plant seeds?”

At this moment, having returned from the secret realm, I had also bought some flower pots suitable for the terrace, along with many tools.

These things were actually not expensive for me now, so I bought quite a few.

But according to the notes that Sofili gave me, if I wanted to plant this kind of plant containing transcendent elements, there would still be considerable trouble, even requiring the use of mixed soil and fertilizers configured with many transcendent materials.

I, including my illusory clone, had been busy for a good while, and the seeds hadn’t even entered the soil yet.

This was not to mention the subsequent cultivation methods targeting the transcendent characteristics of the plants.

Originally, I really just wanted to cultivate some rare things to refine my temperament.

After all, in my plans, I couldn’t possibly maintain high-intensity studying all the time; that would break me.

So, I needed something else to divert this anxiety.

This trip to the secret realm was what gave me the inspiration.

I could try the profession of a Planter, learn about more plants, maybe even come into contact with the skills of an Apothecary later on.

With this foundation, if I wanted to become a Potion Alchemist or learn Elixir-making in the future, I wouldn’t be without a base.

This open-air terrace on the third floor of the villa was very nice, very suitable for planting these seeds here.

The sunlight was sufficient, the view was good, I just hoped those guys in the villa wouldn’t casually pull out my flowers as weeds.

”Little Han, what are you doing here?”

A sudden voice came from behind me.

I immediately paused my hand’s movement and turned around.

”Dongli Yiren... I didn’t expect you to like coming here.”

Seeing the person, I was also very surprised, ”I thought you’d only lock yourself up in your bedroom alone.”

”After being locked up for a long time, I wanted to come out for some fresh air.”

Dongli Yiren walked in my direction, then leaned on the railing at the edge, her whole person becoming lazy.

”How does it feel? Life at the Witch Academy.”

At this moment, I continued to busy myself with the work at hand and started a chat mode.

”It’s just so-so. Damn academy, the other academies are equally damn. I should have gone to work in a factory screwing screws right after graduation.”

”Is that so? Perhaps you could try to find the happiness of the transcendent world. It’s much more interesting than screwing screws.”

I smiled and shook my head.

Dongli Yiren didn’t seem to have changed at all, still hating the Witch Academy as much as before.

However, after the academy exchange competition, she had changed quite a bit.

”Happiness? There’s no happiness at all...”

As soon as the word happiness was mentioned, Dongli Yiren subconsciously blushed.

Maybe she didn’t notice it herself.

In short, the happiness she was thinking of was probably not the same as what I was talking about.

”How could there not be? Didn’t I say yesterday that I was going to a secret realm today? Today I got the seeds of some marvelous plants, and I plan to plant them. Planting and harvesting, isn’t that a kind of happiness?”

”Seeds?”

”Yeah, it’s a pity none of you accompanied me in the morning. But it’s also a good thing no one accompanied me. I went to a lowest-level secret realm with an entry threshold of only one Red Copper coin, but even a secret realm like that was full of dangers,” I said to Dongli Yiren.

”You’re so strong, would it still be dangerous for you?”

Dongli Yiren had seen the exchange competition, don’t take her for a fool.

”There’s indeed no fatal danger to me, but have you ever seen a bean pod that could swallow me along with my protective spell in one go?”

”Man-eating flower?”

”Something like that. There are indeed man-eating flowers there. Some are like Venus flytraps, but bigger, more terrifying, and can even prey on small animals. Their sharp teeth can break human bones.”

”Do such things really exist?”

At this moment, Dongli Yiren also found it a bit hard to imagine.

These were things she had only seen in movies, but she didn’t expect the things in movies to become reality.

”Would I lie to you?”

”Impossible... impossible, right... how could such plants exist in this world... even if they do...”

”Even if what? They spread? This is the world of transcendents, all information is isolated from the outside world. And how can you be sure that our world is the only one?”

”Really? Are there really other worlds?”

Dongli Yiren slowly widened her eyes and looked at me.

”Mm... there must be.”

I nodded.

Otherwise, would everything from my previous life be just a dream?

And how did these transcendent academies that invaded this world come about?

It’s already self-evident, isn’t it?

”But don’t think too much about it. We basically have no chance to leave our world. Probably only after graduating and becoming a Transcendent Witch would we be qualified, right? Otherwise, where do you think so many senior sisters go after graduating every year? They must have gone out to venture into the outside world, right?”

”Is that so...”

”Mm, you seem to really want to leave this world?”

I asked curiously.

Just now, she had clearly shown a shocked expression, and a look of joy had flashed by.

”I want to... of course I want to...”

Dongli Yiren turned around and sighed.

She reached up to adjust her slightly bulging chest, ”I’ve already become like this, I don’t want to stay in this world anymore. I want to change to a world where no one knows me...”

”Still can’t accept the fact that you’ve become a girl?”

”Can’t accept... haven’t I already been forced to accept it? Little Han...”

”What’s wrong?”

”You... how did you accept it so quickly? Because... of that terrible family of yours?”

”Hehe... I guess you could say that. It’s mainly because I’ve lived for a long time and want to live life differently... becoming a girl is not unacceptable. Oh, I forgot to mention, strictly speaking, we didn’t become girls, but witches. According to my understanding, after becoming a witch, we won’t be affected by a girl’s normal menstrual period and so on... we don’t even have the ability to reproduce before fully becoming a Transcendent Witch.”

”Is that so... I envy you for being able to see it so openly... wait? No reproductive ability?”

”What’s wrong? Is there a problem? Don’t tell me you still want to experience the feeling of being pregnant?”

I tilted my head and looked at Dongli Yiren with a very shocked expression.

Although I knew she definitely wasn’t thinking that, it was still nice to tease her a bit.

After all, chatting with my illusory clone was too direct; we understood each other completely and could skip the conversational context and just argue.

”Of course not! How could I think that! I don’t want to get pregnant, having a big belly or something... eww...”

At this moment, Dongli Yiren’s expression became disgusted, ”It’s just... since there’s no ability to get pregnant... why do witches still have a full set of reproductive organs... shouldn’t useless things just not exist, and I was originally a boy, so there’s no need to be so redundant, right...”

”First, to correct one point, we are only Reserve Witches, not real witches. Second, we just have reproductive isolation with any existence, including other Reserve Witches. It’s not that we can’t give birth. If someone uses a Pregnancy Spell on you, you might still give birth...”

”Wait... wait! How can there be a Pregnancy Spell! Is there really such an evil spell!”

Dongli Yiren immediately locked onto the key phrase and interrupted my popular science.

”I’m not sure, but based on my understanding of spells, such a spell probably doesn’t exist. At least, the academy shouldn’t have a spell that can really make you pregnant. And even if there is, if you get pregnant, it’s a spell effect. A spell effect and real pregnancy are two different concepts. A spell effect is just an effect, and a spell effect has an end time. You’re not really pregnant.”

”Is that so... that scared me...”

Dongli Yiren subconsciously patted her chest, seemingly a little scared in hindsight.

”Wait, what do you mean by that sigh of relief? You’re not playing around behind my back, are you?”

I asked casually.

”I... no! How could I! I’m not!”

”Hmm?”

I looked at Dongli Yiren’s expression.

She really should learn to manage her expressions better.

Unfortunately, I didn’t expose her.

”Actually, it’s nothing, just normal physiological needs. I understand it all. The academic pressure at the Transcendent Academy is also very high. Look, I’m even preparing to plant something to relieve stress,” I said, waving the small shovel in my hand.

”Is that so... Little Han, you also think this is normal, right...”

”Mm, very normal,” I nodded.

”Normal... that... then Little Han, how often... do you do it?”

”Ah?”

I suddenly looked up at Dongli Yiren.

Did our topic just go off track?

”I’m dying of laughter! You’re still saying ’ah’? Do you know how much damage that ’ah’ caused Dongli Yiren? She treated you as a confidante and asked such a private question, and you’re playing mind games with her?”

At this moment, the illusory clone directly started mocking me, and then I directly extinguished it.

That’s right, I did think that Dongli Yiren would have this kind of need, but I didn’t expect her to be so direct, asking such a question right away.

It really did shock me for a moment.

”If it’s about that, I haven’t done it yet.”

”Ah?”

Now it was Dongli Yiren’s turn to be shocked.

What kind of double standard was this?

Persuading others that it’s normal, but never doing it herself?

”This is related to personal concepts and ideas... but the act itself is still very normal.”

”You...”

At this moment, Dongli Yiren really wanted to point at my nose and ask if I was lying to her.

”Think on the bright side. Since you’ve become a Reserve Witch and can’t bear the next generation, isn’t that part just for you to relieve stress? Don’t think too much about it. By the way, maybe you and Guan Qiuling would have a lot to talk about,” I comforted her.

After all, it seemed that Guan Qiuling hadn’t broken off her relationship with that senior sister yet.

Since that senior sister came over last time and was discovered by me, they hadn’t come to our villa.

In short, I expressed no opinion on this, only offered them my blessings.

Even if it was just that kind of relationship, I still wished them comfort.

I personally saw it very openly.

After all, she’s a dorm mate, so I still needed to be a little tolerant.

”Her? Better not. A bit... hard to get along with. I feel like we’re not the same type of person.”

”I thought you two got along very well. At least, the kind of relationship between you two made me envious.”

”Envious... you have things you envy too?”

”Why not? I never had any friends since I was a child. I was treated as an outcast. Except for one big sister, before enrolling, I had nothing.”

”Friends... it’s indeed a luxurious noun. If in your eyes, a relationship like ours is called friends...”

”You guys don’t get along happily?”

”After getting in touch more, it’s just like that. Little Han... you, actually, if you... forget it, thinking about it, even if I advised you not to be an involution king, you wouldn’t agree, right? You’re so persistent about the power of transcendents.”

”I’m very persistent in your eyes... is that so? I’m just... nothing...”

It’s just that the cognition formed under the education of my previous life couldn’t be changed in a moment.

If I didn’t study at the academy, it would be a waste of life...

Heh, such an idea has truly poisoned me for two lifetimes, but to change it... is really a bit difficult.

”Actually, among us, that girl Hong Chenyi is the core. She’s the most active. She must be the most carefree fool.”

”A carefree fool? Heh, have you ever heard this saying... the more active a person is on the surface, the more they hide an absolute loneliness they are unwilling to face in their heart. Do you think Hong Chenyi could be like that?”

”Looking at her carefree appearance, is it possible?”

”Who knows? Everyone in this world lives uncomfortably, but it’s precisely because of the existence of the Transcendent Academy that we can bid farewell to the past. Maybe Hong Chenyi is just completely bidding farewell to the past and revealing her true self?”

”Her? Forget it. Didn’t she say she used to be a simp? Her self-awareness is quite clear now, but isn’t she still with that person named... Shi...”

”It’s Shi Huiyu,” I reminded her.

”Isn’t she still all lovey-dovey with Shi Huiyu now?”

”No matter what, at least she managed to win her over. It’s hard to change one’s nature, not to mention the education from her father since she was a child. Now that she has won Shi Huiyu over, do you still expect her to wake up? Don’t say it, this is actually quite good for her,” I said with a smile, shaking my head.

”Heh... one after another...”

”Alright, let’s not talk about them. It’s not good to talk about others behind their backs, although we’ve already complained about everything,” I picked up the watering can and poured water into the flower pot.

This seed was considered planted.

”Mm, so you’re done now?”

Dongli Yiren looked at the watering can in my hand and the flower pot and asked.

”Pretty much. By the way, Dongli Yiren, are you interested in planting some flowers and plants?”

”No, it’s a waste of time.”

Dongli Yiren shook her head, which was a refusal.

”I remember... you seem to be a bit short on money, right?”

”What does that have to do with me being short on money?”

”You could try planting flowers to sell for money,” I suggested.

”No, the cycle is too long, I don’t want to.”

Dongli Yiren shook her head again and refused.

”These are transcendent plants. Many transcendent plants have a very short maturation cycle. And now that classes have officially started, you won’t earn much from part-time jobs. It’s better to take care of some transcendent plants.”

”Let’s just forget it. Planting can be done in batches, the efficiency is much higher than just me alone.”

”You don’t understand, do you? These are transcendent plants, they can’t... oh no, I should say they basically can’t be mass-produced mechanically. I teamed up with a Planter to go to a secret realm today. Planting is a very formal profession. Cultivating transcendent plants... she contracted an entire plantation at the Witch Academy, but it’s still not mechanized production. Personal skill and one’s own mastery of techniques are fundamental.”

”Planter?”

”Yes, and there’s another very important thing. The money from selling the produce of transcendent plants is Red Copper, Mithril, and Arcanite Gold. I told you before that the lowest entry threshold for a secret realm is Red Copper, right? These three transcendent materials are the common equivalents in the Witch Academy and even the transcendent world. The money you’re earning now is only useful in the early stages. In the future, you might not even be able to spend it if you want to.”

”Really... are you serious?”

It was obvious that Dongli Yiren was already a little tempted.

”I can’t guarantee if it’s true or not. Although you can buy many things at the academy with ordinary money, the stronger you become, the more resources, Magic Power Sources, spellbooks, potions... you will need this kind of transcendent material. You have to plan for your future path, right?”

”My future path? But I don’t want to plant flowers and plants for a lifetime, even if they are transcendent plants.”

”Can’t you think a bit? Am I asking you to farm for a lifetime by having you plant transcendent plants? You are planting transcendent plants! As you plant them, you will gradually gain a basic understanding of their characteristics. Later, you can become an Apothecary! Apothecaries make a lot of money! If your talent is good, you can even develop into Potion Alchemy! After you master Magic Power in the future, you can even switch tracks to make Elixirs! With such a good promotion path, are you still hesitating?”

”This... I...”

At this moment, having been exposed to so much information at once, her brain couldn’t quite process it, but the terms Apothecary, Potion Alchemy, and Elixir swirled in her mind, feeling very high-end.

”Can... can you give me some time to think about it?”

Dongli Yiren finally asked.

”Of course. If you agreed in one go, I would doubt whether you could handle it. You’d better go and learn about this stuff. After all, this is planning your future path. Besides, you’re a newcomer. You and I both have the time and capital to start over, don’t we?”

”Thank you... I... I’ll go back first...”

”Wait.”

”What’s wrong?”

Dongli Yiren turned her head to look at me in confusion.

”If you decide, I’ll entrust these transcendent plants of mine to you. They’re a gift for you. When they mature, the fruits will also be yours.”

”This... wouldn’t that be a bit inappropriate?”

Dongli Yiren glanced at the flower pot, then looked at me again, feeling a sense of unease from having taken advantage.

”This is just what I got from one trip to the secret realm. How about treating it as an investment in a future master of potion-making?”

Of course, the main reason was that I probably didn’t have much time and energy to deal with so many seeds and seedlings.

I was just making the best use of things.

And to relax a bit myself.

Besides, it’s not like I couldn’t cultivate them anymore.

I just needed to relax intermittently, but these plants couldn’t be watered and cultivated intermittently.

We could just take it slow together.

And these things didn’t sell for much money, so I was naturally willing to give them away.

But for them, it might be a considerable income.

Thinking of this, I remembered that little rich lady Sofili, who was even willing to exchange her notes for over a hundred Red Copper coins.

But sometimes, knowledge is the most priceless thing.

It seems she hadn’t realized this point.

If she couldn’t realize this point, she might be stuck in that plantation for a lifetime.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t qualified to lecture others.

I just roughly inferred these things based on my own cognition.

”Oh, by the way, I got some of her planting and cultivation notes and experiences from that Planter senior sister. If you make up your mind, you can ask me for them.”

I said to Dongli Yiren.

After all, I had read some of these notes.

I would record the content I didn’t know or would easily forget in the Memory Bookshelf in the afternoon.

”Hmm? Thank you.”

At this moment, Dongli Yiren felt that she had definitely said this thank you with sincerity.

After all, this was a seemingly very good development path that the other party had pointed out to her.

She would naturally have to try it before she would give up.

Potion-making and concocting... this sounded like a profession that could make a lot of money, although it might also cost a lot of money beforehand.

But before that, she could slowly save up... or... find that person?

No, no, no!

Dongli Yiren shook her head, throwing this tempting idea away.

If it were really like that, what was the difference between her and Guan Qiuling!

She... she was going to be a master of potion-making in the future!

At least, she had such a plan now.
