Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 198: Speech-Spirit Spell: Unity of Knowledge and Action

“Little Han, what’s wrong? Did I speak too fast for you to remember?”

Bai Yu waved at me when she saw me spacing out.

“Ah? No, I was just thinking about something else, but this exchange competition is indeed quite complicated.”

I quickly waved my hands after snapping back to reality.

After all, it wasn’t very good to be lost in my own thoughts and need Big Sis Bai to remind me.

But back to the competition, were the rules complicated?

Actually, not really.

It was just a shell for mutual slaughter.

Wouldn’t it be over when only one person was left?

The rest was mostly just fancy stuff.

After that, I continued to discuss some specific rules with Big Sis Bai.

The exchange competition didn’t restrict means like alliances between academies.

If you had the eloquence for negotiation, that was a skill in itself.

Moreover, this was in the Dream State, so many things were actually simpler, even to the point of being ”without any restrictions.”

As I continued to understand the situation, I also began to try and memorize things, because there was no such thing as a mini-map in the Dream State.

If I wasn’t familiar with the map, I might even get lost.

Of course, a very capable person could completely record the map’s terrain, but no one would be foolish enough to spend so much time just to record a map.

Although one could roughly determine their position based on the characteristics of their surroundings, not everyone had this ability.

At least, I couldn’t do it right away.

I could probably manage to not get lost under normal circumstances.

But I had the Spellbook of the Memory Bookshelf.

Besides recording text, a blank book could naturally also record images.

Some spells, from the very beginning, didn’t necessarily need modding to add more abilities; rather, their inherent abilities could achieve effects beyond the conventional.

For example, could a book record a three-dimensional map like this?

No, but this was a spell effect, not an ordinary book.

The only thing limiting this ability was my ability to express it.

But was my ability to express things poor?

Not necessarily.

The things Spirit Vision could see were far more abstract than what actually existed, but I was slowly adapting to it now, and could even use the Earth Vein system to model the Spellbook.

Could modeling express what Spirit Vision saw?

Obviously not.

This required using existing forms for abstract expression plus annotations.

This was why, if your Spirit Vision level wasn’t high enough, you couldn’t even understand the information, because you couldn’t imagine it.

And the map I recorded was for my own use.

I didn’t need others to understand it, so I could describe this map within the spell of the Memory Bookshelf.

“Little Han, this map you’ve drawn is so abstract. Will you be able to understand it later?”

At this moment, Bai Yu stood beside me, looking at my finished product, and finally frowned.

“Of course I can. If it really doesn’t work, there’s always this version.”

I controlled the book, and it gradually dispersed, turning into pages of paper.

They stacked up, layer upon layer, forming visible contour lines.

In this way, they sketched out the appearance of a three-dimensional map.

“The Memory Bookshelf Spellbook can be used like this? Wait, Little Han, you’ve already learned how to use this spellbook? Don’t I remember the usage threshold for this spellbook is...”

“The threshold is as good as non-existent for me. I’ve gained a rather thorough understanding of spellbooks recently. I’ve discovered that even if I don’t understand a spellbook, I can still use it flexibly.”

Take this Memory Bookshelf Spellbook, for example.

It was simply for recording and intercommunication, without this ”presentation” ability.

But some abilities had to be discovered by oneself.

You couldn’t just look at the original intention of a spellbook and what effect it was meant to achieve.

Instead, you should look at what applications the spellbook’s function could be extended to, and what efforts were needed to achieve that effect.

“Is that so?”

Although Bai Yu didn’t understand these things, or even what my words represented, it didn’t stop her from being shocked by it.

To go beyond the framework of a spellbook, to use the transcendent at will wasn’t this what she was pursuing?

She had previously tried to cast spells without a spellbook.

Naturally, she failed.

It couldn’t be considered a complete failure, just that it couldn’t meet her expectations, and her mentor didn’t support her actions, but did express understanding.

Now, seeing such a scene, she finally asked the question she had wanted to ask before.

The previously modded spells hadn’t touched her as much as this scene did.

“How did Little Han do it?”

“Hmm... understand the spellbook, comprehend the spellbook, mod the spellbook, and use Spirit Vision.”

“Comprehend... the spellbook, Spirit Vision... so that’s how it is.”

Bai Yu suppressed her desire to ask more.

She understood what she had to face the huge gap between Spirit Vision levels.

So her own cognition had surpassed her abilities, and it was the inability of her abilities to catch up that caused this series of confusion.

Just this one realization let her know one thing:

The answer she was chasing was in Spirit Vision.

She recalled what her mentor had said before about the importance of Spirit Vision, and the importance of achieving transcendence.

Sometimes, if you don’t experience it yourself, you really don’t know how heavy the ”importance” others speak of truly is.

“Hey Big Sis Bai, are you okay? Did you figure something out too?”

“Oh... I guess so, I’ve figured some things out.”

Bai Yu didn’t plan to explain anything, but she knew that she would be busy in the time to come.

“Let’s continue discussing the rules. Didn’t you say earlier that the contestants have a more detailed set of rules?”

“Oh, that. There’s no hurry for that. It took quite some effort to record the map just now, and I’ve roughly understood the most important things. Teacher Ji Niang gave me some more things today, potions. It should be fine if I drink all these potions at once, right?”

“Hmm? These potions, they’re all permanent enhancement potions. She’s really generous. But potions generally don’t have major conflicts. And if there were any real accidents, Teacher Ji Niang who gave you the potions would have probably reminded you. But just to be safe, you should take these three with some time in between.”

“Then I’ll listen to Big Sis Bai.”

I opened a bottle of constitution improvement potion.

My physical fitness had always been my weak point, but body strengthening spells and transformation spells could temporarily make up for the deficiency.

I didn’t really mind it, but with a stronger constitution, the effects of these spells would definitely be more powerful.

And I remembered I had another spellbook I hadn’t used yet.

Although I was only given one spellbook, I naturally wouldn’t refuse it.

I wanted to see what this spellbook was.

Even a high-consumption spellbook wasn’t very useful to me; it just enriched my methods a little.

They couldn’t possibly give me a thousand-point consumption spellbook, right?

I didn’t lack power now, and my main strength didn’t come from high-consumption spellbooks.

There are many ways to kill a person.

It’s not that the more terrifying the spell damage, the better.

To a certain extent, a basic spellbook that is just enough to kill the opponent serves the same purpose as a high-consumption spellbook.

But as I stuffed this spellbook into my body under Big Sis Bai’s gaze, I looked at its introduction, and my heart couldn’t help but tremble.

Non-restricted Spellbook!

Speech-Spirit Spell: Unity of Knowledge and Action

After seeing this spellbook and carefully understanding its abilities, I was directly frightened by its function!

This spellbook was a type of spell different from the usual evocation or illusion spells; it was a Speech-Spirit spell.

It was probably similar to the form of ”what is spoken becomes law,” but this spellbook’s Speech-Spirit was used on oneself, and could only be used on oneself.

It could achieve a state where what is said is what is done, reaching the state of ”Unity of Knowledge and Action”

My understanding of the unity of knowledge and action was still at the level of philosophical theory, where the mind and behavior are consistent, and the inner self and the outer self are coordinated.

Perhaps in my hands, this spell might not allow me to reach that philosophical height, but it was obviously a spellbook that could improve my learning efficiency.

What did I need most right now?

Wasn’t it a spellbook like this?

I knew I wanted to learn.

The world of the transcendent was endless.

Continuous learning, understanding, and practice was the correct path.

But I couldn’t fully act on this idea of mine.

Temptation, fatigue, laziness, emotions, my own state, inner thoughts, these were all stumbling blocks to my beautiful ideas, and it was the same for everyone.

What mattered was how to overcome these difficulties.

And this spell undoubtedly solved a big problem for me.

Of course, the use of this spell might not be limited to just this, and I might not even be able to use it well.

If this spell wasn’t limited to using Speech-Spirit only on myself, then its value would definitely not have reached me.

Even so, its value might not be something I could possess right now.

So was this an expectation from the Witch Academy for me?

It was obvious that the academy had already put me and Tan Han on two different training tracks.

What an unexpected spellbook.

I guess Teacher Ji Niang’s efforts must have played a part in this.

Now I suddenly had three such spellbooks.

As long as I was given time to slowly develop and settle, I couldn’t even imagine what I could achieve.

“Little Han, are you okay? What is this spellbook? Can it help you?”

Bai Yu’s words didn’t ask about the spellbook’s effect, only whether it brought improvement.

After all, everyone had their privacy.

If the other party didn’t say, Bai Yu naturally wouldn’t ask.

“I’m fine, I’ve never been better!”

The joy in my heart was overflowing.

When I said these words, even Bai Yu was stunned for a moment.

But just then, my phone suddenly rang.

I opened it and saw that it seemed to be a call from Tan Han.

Bai Yu watched from the side and only spoke after I hung up the phone.

“What’s wrong, Little Han, did someone contact you?”

“Oh, it’s Tan Han. She invited the other participants from the Witch Academy for this exchange competition to have a meal together at noon and discuss matters regarding the competition. It’s probably something like discussing tactics,” I explained.

“I see. We’ve indeed spent a lot of time here. Why don’t we leave first?”

Bai Yu tidied up a bit.

We had ordered quite a few desserts and drinks while analyzing the exchange competition here, as thinking was quite mentally taxing.

Besides, I woke up early and didn’t have breakfast, so I took the opportunity to eat something.

“Indeed, it’s already this late. I probably won’t be able to eat much at the gathering Tan Han invited me to. What a pity.”

“It’s fine. The focus of your gathering isn’t eating. After all, cooperation between students from the same academy is also very important in this exchange competition.”

“That’s true,” I said with a shrug.

However, I probably couldn’t provide many ideas for discussing tactics and such.

After all, I wasn’t good at this aspect, and there were so many variables in this exchange competition that tactics might not even be useful.

It still depended on adaptability.

Forget it, I’ll just go and hold down the fort.

After all, everyone was a top student among the Witch Academy’s newcomers.

I didn’t know if Tan Han could handle them.

And among the top ten newcomers, besides Tan Han and Shi Huiyu, I wasn’t familiar with the others.

I couldn’t even call them by name.

Maybe I should familiarize myself a little before going over.

After leaving the Witch Cat Cafe, I parted ways with Big Sis Bai.

I rode my broom slowly away, while Bai Yu went on with her own business.

The recent experience made Bai Yu understand one thing.

She hadn’t thought it through before, so she didn’t pay it much attention.

But now she knew the importance of Spirit Vision, and the transformation after becoming a transcendent.

This coincided with the path she was pursuing.

It was last year.

Originally, she wasn’t in a hurry, planning to muddle through with that project until graduation, and take her time with advancing to a Transcendent Witch.

But now it seemed she couldn’t continue to muddle through like this.

She already had a very clear goal: to become a Transcendent Witch.

But after becoming a Transcendent Witch, according to her mentor, she had to leave this Main World and go to the world of witches for a testimony.

But she also knew that if she wanted to return to this world again, it would be difficult.

Could she return as a teacher at the Witch Academy?

But who knew how long that would take?

Not seeing Little Han for so long, what if and this period of time was also when the script was starting.

How could she be at ease?

Sighing, Bai Yu opened her phone, preparing to go on the academy network to relax and see what the general sentiment on the academy network was.

She had used her connections to suppress some information about Little Han, but it was ultimately just a drop in the bucket.

After opening the academy network and scrolling for a while, a headline that made her heart skip a beat immediately made her think of bad things.

All Innate Spirit Visionaries to Date Are Madmen, Using Real Cases to State the Facts.

Isn’t Little Han an Innate Spirit Visionary?

At this point in time, it was hard not to connect the dots, even though Bai Yu knew that not many people knew Little Han was an Innate Spirit Visionary.

But many things fermented slowly like this.

This kind of thing again?

Who on earth was spreading this kind of news?

At this moment, Bai Yu furiously clicked on this person’s information.

She felt that before she began her own exploration of the transcendent, she had to solve some more troubles.
