Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 153: The Advantage in This Battle is Mine

The effect of the Mayfly Fireball was actually quite lackluster.

It dispersed the explosive power of a complete Fireball spell, splitting it into fine sparks like mayflies, sacrificing its explosive property to grant it points of light that burned with continuous high temperatures.

Its only advantage was its extremely wide coverage.

While I was thinking, the Fireball spell had already appeared in my hand, but it didn’t explode, just staying quietly at the tip of my magic wand.

But the next moment, as I waved my magic wand, the fireball split apart as if it had disintegrated, and the sky was filled with sparks scattered like a tree of fire and a shower of silver flowers.

The incoming poison bees seemed very wary, but like my spirit cats, they were summoned creatures without intelligence, and under Tan Han’s control, they continued to attack me.

The magic wand waved, and the sparks were like meteors in the sky, drawing long, fiery trails.

So many sparks danced together, chaotic yet possessing a shocking beauty.

They wove into an impenetrable net, using their last residual heat to shoot down all of Tan Han’s summoned creatures.

This process lasted for a few seconds before the sparks extinguished, leaving only a heatwave in the air to prove they had existed, like the fleeting life of a mayfly flashing by.

”What kind of technique is this?”

Tan Han was astonished by the brilliant firelight effect just now and couldn’t help but ask.

”Fireball.”

Although Tan Han was my opponent at this moment, I still told her.

Fireball?

Impossible.

If you don’t want to tell me, you don’t have to.

Tan Han’s brow furrowed slightly, but the spell in her hand didn’t stop.

”Don’t believe it if you don’t want to.”

I naturally had no objection to this.

After all, I was about to launch a counterattack and couldn’t delay any longer.

One Fireball spell consumed one point of magic power, which was the magic power of an entire magic power source.

Even if I could increase my magic power conversion efficiency and reduce consumption while maintaining power, I couldn’t last long.

Don’t forget, I didn’t just have Fireball, but also the Energy Shield!

The Energy Shield could defend against spells and attacks, so naturally, it could be used as a stepping stone.

Tan Han’s plan to trap me with terrain spells was doomed to fail.

Although I had never performed many difficult maneuvers, it was different after my body was strengthened.

And with the Cat Person Transformation Spell, inheriting the dexterity, agility, flexibility, and balance of a cat person.

I could do many things.

For example, leaping several meters high and performing twists and somersaults in the air were no longer difficult.

So, under the watchful eyes of everyone, I leaped up, and the characteristics of a cat person appeared on my body.

My cat ears twitched springily, and a furry tail extended from behind me.

This was a spell effect and could be changed back.

If it couldn’t be changed back, then it couldn’t be called a spell, but a bloodline.

For now, I didn’t want to mess with my own bloodline.

Being a human, or rather, a witch, was actually quite good.

As I was about to land in the corrosive swamp, the tip of my foot tapped on the Energy Shield.

Instantly, ripples of energy spread across the shield.

Such a small piece of Energy Shield could provide me with a place to step on.

In theory, by arranging such things in the air, I could continuously maneuver in the air.

But doing so, apart from consuming stamina and showing off, had no benefits.

Right now, I just wanted to quickly close the distance before Tan Han could react.

Otherwise, if my spells couldn’t hit accurately, all my efforts would be in vain, and it would even be a waste of magic power.

My magic power couldn’t afford such waste.

As I approached Tan Han, several Fireball spells appeared by my side, surrounding me like stars around the moon.

This was my initial attempt to break the inherent cognition that a Fireball spellbook couldn’t control the spell’s flight after it was cast.

The biggest advantage of this technique was being ready to strike at a moment’s notice.

Using a limited time to cast the spellbook and releasing it instantly when needed was equivalent to a form of instant-cast spell.

The disadvantage was that it couldn’t be sudden, and the opponent would be on guard.

But with so many Fireball spells behind me, the momentum it created had a sense of mutual destruction.

Even Tan Han’s pupils contracted when she saw me approaching so quickly.

So, the powerful Tan Han could also show such an expression?

Perhaps the rumored terrifying number of magic power sources Tan Han had, and her spellbooks of terrifying power, were not as insurmountable as imagined when facing actual combat.

Just as I was holding the elongated spear of fire, Tan Han also responded.

The high-speed operation of her magic power source gave me a very bad premonition.

This was a spell with extremely terrifying consumption!

But I still threw the fireballs in my hand without hesitation.

This distance was enough for me to hit her, and she was still casting a spell with terrifying consumption.

Even if she wanted to dodge, the aftershock of the explosion from such a large amount of fireballs would be enough to make her suffer.

But the abnormal elemental surge around the arena at this moment made me very uneasy.

The spell had already triggered such a large-scale phenomenon before it was even cast.

Since it was related to elements, was this an Evocation Spell?

I was very familiar with Evocation Spells.

After all, it was a mainstream violent output type of spell, and also one of the few spells that needed to be tanked.

There was basically no room for tricks, especially for this kind of area-of-effect attack.

So, because of this characteristic, those who majored in Evocation Spells were also called Spell Turrets.

This was absolute fire suppression.

”Little Han, do you only know Fireball? If it’s only to this extent, it’s far too unimpressive!”

Tan Han raised her protective spell, struggling slightly to block the first Fireball spell.

Judging from the damage surely by that shield, it should be a spell with very low consumption.

It seemed her defensive ability was not actually high.

But it was obvious that Tan Han would not make such a mistake and leave such a flaw for the enemy.

If her defense was weak, then other areas must be extremely strong, strong enough to ignore the weakness of a weak protective spell.

So, the next moment, she gave me the answer.

Flame Lord.

This was the effect of this spellbook, a summoning effect, consuming a huge amount of magic power to create a flame lava monster big enough to change the entire terrain.

Its appearance instantly extinguished the damage of my remaining Fireball spells.

The explosion of the fireballs only managed to overturn the lava rocks on its body.

”A summoning spell?”

I looked in astonishment at the huge monster in front of me.

Its appearance instantly turned the ground of the arena into molten lava.

Huge amounts of fire elements erupted from the cracks, and the continuous high temperature baked the entire arena.

Fortunately, the spells at the edge of the arena isolated it, otherwise even the surrounding arenas would have been affected.

At this moment, I had completely lost my footing and could only continue to stand on the Energy Shield, constantly consuming my magic power.

”Roar!”

The Flame Lord let out a roar, and a heatwave rushed towards me.

An attack of this level naturally couldn’t hurt me, but the more terrifying effect was yet to come.

The lava gravel on the ground seemed to be endowed with life by that roar and formed a monster as tall as a person.

Human wave tactics?

A summoned creature can summon minions?

How am I supposed to play this?

”Little Han, still want to struggle?”

At this time, Tan Han stood on the shoulder of the lava monster, where there was a specially placed rock for her to stand on, allowing her to be at eye level with me in the air.

”Of course I have to struggle a bit. Giving up just like this is not my style. Do you think you’ve already won?”

I started a conversation with Tan Han.

But it was mainly to buy time.

I was using Spirit Vision to find the weakness of this huge thing.

The Flame Lord was a creature constructed by a spell, so it naturally had a weakness like a spell, but it was just well hidden.

To defeat a creature from a summoning spell, one could physically destroy its body, forcing the controller to consume more magic power until the other party voluntarily dispelled the spell effect.

Or, one could break the core of this creature.

Its core was driven by a spell ritual.

Destroying it was equivalent to breaking the spell, and it might even cause the other party to suffer a mental power backlash to some extent.

”Then let’s give it a try.”

Tan Han sighed, and then her gaze turned cold.

It was obvious that she was getting serious.

After all, this was a spell that consumed a three-digit amount of magic power.

The activation of such a spell already represented that the battle had entered its climax.

And with the appearance of Tan Han’s Flame Lord, the audience became excited.

The power of a spellbook with a consumption of over a hundred magic powers was enough to satisfy the expectations of many spectators for violent spells.

Especially the molten lava domain that changed the entire field, it was as if it ignited the arena, and even the commentator’s tone became very excited.

”It’s the Flame Lord! The moment the Flame Lord appeared, it changed the entire arena!”

”Contestant No. 14 is in a precarious situation. Although we don’t know what method No. 14 used to stand in the air, the Earth Vein Information shows that contestant No. 14 has only used three types of spellbooks so far. It’s truly incredible.”

”No. 14 has launched a counterattack! That flame spear has appeared in her hand again. The Earth Vein Information shows that it’s a Fireball spell, but anyone with a discerning eye can see the difference. It seems the Earth Vein Operating System needs to be updated.”

Although the commentator’s tone was very cheerful, no one knew that she was more nervous than anyone else.

She had commentated on so many matches, but she had never seen one so frustrating.

Her eyes told her that contestant No. 14 was a newcomer who had mastered multiple fire element series spellbooks, and each spell was very unique, but this damn Earth Vein Information showed that it was a Fireball spell.

She wanted to smash it!

To hell with your Fireball spell!

I think your Earth Vein Information looks like a Fireball spell!

”This kind of fire element weapon summoning spell is just like tickling for the Flame Lord. It’s obvious that contestant No. 14’s move is a feint... wait!”

”Contestant No. 14’s flame spear has pierced the Flame Lord’s spell core!”

At this moment, in Arena No. 1, even with my protective spell, I was sent flying far away by the Flame Lord’s final self-destruction.

And even more shocking was Tan Han.

She couldn’t believe what was happening was real.

My attack just now felt like it hadn’t shattered the Flame Lord, but had shattered the elemental theory she had firmly believed in since she started learning!

The Flame Lord’s mastery over the fire element could form an absolute crush!

What level of consumption was that spell from the opponent that it could break through the Flame Lord in one hit and even cause her to suffer a spell backlash.

Such a fire element attack should have been assimilated by it.

Tan Han landed somewhat disheveledly, a trace of confusion flashing in her eyes, but her firm determination quickly allowed her to rally.

Because she figured it out.

She had suffered a spell backlash, which meant that the Flame Lord summoning spell had been destroyed.

Destroying the core in one hit, was that possible?

Without any probing, without any dismantling, the opponent didn’t have this kind of spell, and shouldn’t have known its structure.

But now was not the time to hesitate and think about these unanswered questions.

She should counterattack immediately.

Originally, she thought that the Flame Lord spell alone could end the battle, but now it seemed it couldn’t.

Her magic power source couldn’t withstand such consumption, not even with potion supplements.

Her brain was working at high speed, searching for an attack among her ”limited” spellbooks that could end all of this.

But I wouldn’t give her such an opportunity.

Following up on the victory was what I should do.

I briefly checked my magic power source.

The consumption was not even half, a very good reserve.

It seemed that increasing the magic power conversion rate and using methods with extremely low consumption like the localized Energy Shield were indeed very suitable for someone like me with not many magic power sources.

Of course, there were not many compared to Tan Han.

The number of magic power sources I had was still quite a lot among the newcomer group.

The Flame Lord was blown up by me in one hit, but the molten state of the ground would not disappear immediately, but this did not prevent me from raiding Tan Han.

Just in case, I even used the Illusory Clone.

Although it couldn’t provide any real help, its deceptive effect was excellent and it was not easy to detect, very suitable for tricking the opponent’s targeted spells.

It could also distract the opponent.

Even if they knew the clone was fake, when a clone threw a punch at their face, the body’s instincts would still kick in.

”Tan Han, if you have no other means, I’m going for the kill.”

At this moment, Tan Han met my gaze.

She seemed to feel a distorted pattern flash in the other’s eyes, like an illusion.

But the next moment, if she didn’t act, she might really be eliminated by me just like this!

”The winner has not yet been decided.”

Tan Han immediately responded, casting protective spells, and releasing various spells as if they were free.

She didn’t even spare the effects of the alchemical items on her body.

At this distance, I naturally couldn’t make an effective dodge.

I could only let the protective spell clear the way for me against the effects of several spells.

But I soon felt something abnormal.

Mental Power Interference, Silence, Limb Twitching, Spell Poise Reduction, Physical Vulnerability.

I could only vaguely feel some abnormalities, but I quickly reacted.

Although I was not a professional in this aspect of spells, I had read many professional papers and materials.

I naturally knew that this was aimed at spells, or rather, at the rituals inside spellbooks.

For example, if the internal ritual of my spell was a ”Chant Ritual”, then Silence would directly interrupt my casting.

But no matter what, the Mental Power Interference did hinder my casting a bit, but it was not to the extent that I couldn’t even cast a single Fireball spell.

”Petty tricks.”

I commented on this.

These effects only lasted for a few seconds, only for interrupting the state, not for continuous interference.

These spells were even small spellbooks without internal rituals, no wonder they were cast so quickly.

”But it’s enough to hold you back.”

Although Tan Han was casting spells in a somewhat disheveled manner at this moment, she still maintained a very good mentality, which meant she still had a backup plan.

I just didn’t know what it was.

”Hold me back? What else do you want to do? Your current state is not enough for you to cast a powerful spell, and your usual methods are at most on par with mine. Want to try a battle of attrition?”

I controlled the modified Fireball spell to maintain a lively coverage.

Perhaps Tan Han never thought that she would also be covered by firepower one day, right?

This kind of split Fireball spell might be a bit weaker in power, but there were many of them, and they would explode just like a normal Fireball spell, which forced Tan Han to keep maintaining her protective spell.

”It’s indeed not enough, but I never thought of using a battle of attrition, because when I adopt a battle of attrition, it itself represents that I have lost this battle. But do you know? Some spells, even when being cast, are enough to produce a pressure that the opponent cannot resist.”

Tan Han said this to me while being distracted by blocking my Fireball spell attacks.

All this consumption was in preparation for this moment.

That was an energy storage alchemical item.

Because it had no offensive power, only the effect of storing magic power, it was allowed to be carried.

After all, at this stage, newcomers generally didn’t have many magic power sources and needed supplements, but the one in Tan Han’s hand was obviously not an ordinary energy storage alchemical item, but an alchemical item with an energy storage of up to several thousand magic power!

This was Tan Han’s final trump card, an alchemical item specially prepared for her spellbook that consumed up to a thousand magic powers.

This was the strongest spellbook she possessed, and also the core spell she was currently using to construct her combat system.

A transformation spell to strengthen herself to ensure her safety, supplemented by summoning spells for human wave tactics and group attacks.

Coupled with her understanding of ”Elemental Theory” and the simple application of the ”Elemental Countering” theory, it could cause explosive combination damage of ice and fire.

Perhaps under normal circumstances, fire and ice would melt when they collide, but the countering of fire and ice elements could cause a terrifying explosion!

The more profound theory also involved the field of energy alchemy, which Tan Han had not yet studied in detail.

But it was enough to deal with this battle now.

Summoned creatures can have their weaknesses found, but what about transformation spells?

After transforming, she was not the master who would stand there stupidly waiting for the opponent to attack like the Flame Lord.

”Come and taste the bone-chilling frost of the Ancient Glacial Ice!”
