Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 182: The Predicament Faced by the Bakery Owner

“Ah? Ah?!”

I watched Lina walk away from the audience seats with my own eyes, and then I let out two confused sounds.

The audience in the arena also gradually dispersed, leaving only me, still somewhat in disbelief about everything that had just happened.

What about the promised rewards?

What about the promised Spellbook?

Where did my Spellbook go!

Why was it suddenly messed up like this?

If things had followed the normal procedure, everything should have been over by tomorrow.

The rankings would be announced, the rewards distributed, and I wouldn’t have to agonize over them deliberately not putting the Spellbook that improves learning efficiency in first place, just to stop me from vying for that top spot.

Now I couldn’t get anything!

Aphrodite Academy!

It was that elf’s doing.

I recognized her voice, fine, fine, so you want to play me like this, huh?

First it was Yao Beijuan, then her teacher, coming one by one to cause me trouble.

I’ve made a note of this.

Hehe this time, even without Teacher Ji Niang deliberately telling me, I wouldn’t show any mercy.

You like exchanging so much, I’ll have to properly exchange, exchange with them!

I was like a clown sitting here foolishly all afternoon, and I even got turned into a meme sticker.

Was it easy for me?

Was I waiting here to watch those matches?

It was for the Spellbook I was hoping to see.

The previous rewards had already been announced, and now they just postponed the whole thing on me.

Isn’t this just trying to annoy me?

Forget it, I’d better go back and take some potions.

Since I have nothing to do tomorrow, I’m going to study the Spellbook properly and prepare to do something big.

Originally, I planned to focus on learning runes and put the research on the Spellbook aside for now.

After all, I didn’t have any rivals to contend with anymore, but with the current situation, I can’t let it go, I just can’t.

I probably won’t even sleep well tonight.

But I was powerless to change this fact.

As I walked out of the contestant area, I ran right into Big Sis Bai.

“Big Sis Bai You actually waited for me here on purpose.”

Seeing the familiar figure, I immediately threw myself into Big Sis Bai’s arms.

In this malicious world, only Big Sis Bai’s huge bosom could give me a trace of warmth.

“Little Han, there are so many people here.”

When Bai Yu saw me pounce on her like this, she subconsciously wrapped her arm around me.

In Bai Yu’s impression, the old Little Han would never have done something like this so proactively, but Bai Yu thought this Little Han was especially cute.

If it weren’t for being here, she might have even wanted to press Little Han down and let her experience what Big Sis Bai’s ‘facial cleanser’ was like.

“True…”

After closing my eyes and relaxing for a few seconds, I quickly came to my senses and stood up straight.

I found that after becoming a girl, my relationship with Big Sis Bai had become even more intimate, but seeing that Big Sis Bai didn’t seem to mind, I was relieved.

It seemed she was okay with it.

However, I was self-aware enough to stop this behavior of taking advantage.

“Sigh! I feel so tired.”

“Little Han, is something wrong?”

Bai Yu felt the emptiness in her arms and felt a little lost, but she quickly realized that Little Han’s mood seemed a bit off at the moment.

“It’s just… just now, everything got messed up. The rewards I could have gotten tomorrow, who knows what year or month it’ll be now.”

I sighed again after I finished speaking, lamenting the unpredictability of things.

“I see, Little Han values this reward a lot, huh? Are you interested in that Super Consumption Spellbook?”

Bai Yu asked tentatively.

“No, it’s that Teacher Ji Niang said there’s a Spellbook in this competition that can improve learning efficiency. It’s most likely that non-restricted Spellbook…”

“I see…”

Bai Yu nodded, “Little Han, don’t be too sad. Look on the bright side, you didn’t get the reward this time, but the rewards later will be even more generous. There’s no need to care about a day or two, right?”

“Since you think so too, Big Sis Bai, then I… sigh, I feel like I was so busy before, and now that I’ve stopped, I feel a sense of unease.”

“That just goes to show you need to rest. Witch Academy is different from other academies. Pushing yourself so hard might be counterproductive. Working hard blindly doesn’t mean anything; you have to master the right methods.”

“I’m tired of all the chicken soup for the soul. I understand all these principles, but when it comes to knowledge, it’s just rote memorization. How can you be heading in the wrong direction with your efforts?”

“Let’s not talk about this. Let’s think about what to do with the rest of our day.”

Bai Yu reached out and patted my head, her tone extremely doting.

“True.”

I picked up my phone and looked.

It was still afternoon.

For regular classes, the afternoon sessions wouldn’t even be over yet, not to mention that the time after class was when students were truly free.

But speaking of what to do, I actually kind of wanted to take this opportunity to buy some potions.

According to my original plan, I would get that Spellbook tomorrow, and my potions would be almost used up, so I wouldn’t have to waste money buying more.

This was truly frustrating.

I hated it the most when my plans were disrupted.

But since I was with Big Sis Bai, I naturally had to consider her thoughts too.

“Does Big Sis Bai have any recommendations?”

“You’re asking me actually, I don’t really know where to go either. Witch Academy is very large, so large that there are even places I haven’t been to. But it’s also very small, so small that whenever I want to go somewhere, I have no destination in mind.”

“Big Sis Bai, are you trying to show off your literary talent to me?”

I retorted from the side.

“Actually, Big Sis Bai, I’d rather hear what you want to do. You don’t need to say where to go, just say what you want to do, and I can take you there.”

“I see… a pity, there’s not enough time.”

I said with a hint of regret.

It would be night soon.

I was a person with a very regular schedule.

Several hours could be used to do many things, but if I really wanted to do something, I couldn’t do much.

“Actually, I’m still thinking about the transcendent matter. After all, Big Sis Bai, you know how long I’ve been in contact with transcendent power, counting everything? It all feels a bit unreal to me.”

“Why so melancholic all of a sudden?”

“Not at all! Just a passing thought. Since you said to tell you what I want to do right now, I want to go buy some potions, but making a special trip just to buy this stuff really feels foolish.”

Speaking of which, I remembered going to buy potions alone before.

Standing alone in Witch Plaza was really awkward.

“It’s fine, isn’t it okay with me accompanying you? With me there, it’s not a special trip.”

“That’s true.”

So, the goal after leaving the arena was to buy potions.

Potions were very common in Transcendent Academies, and Big Sis Bai knew more about this than I did.

After all, she was an “old fritter” who had been in the academy for many years, so she had dabbled in basically everything.

And when it came to potions, Big Sis Bai mentioned that there would be lessons on it in future courses.

However, the teaching phase only went up to the introductory level of potions, as the academy had no obligation to train every student into a potion master.

The academy merely provided this direction, allowing suitable people to discover paths that suited them, and then they could choose whether to develop in that direction.

If possible, as long as one found a willing mentor, they could officially develop in that direction.

It could be said that most senior sisters had mastered the ability to concoct potions, but it was limited to some conventional ones.

And Big Sis Bai, she had taken potion-making as an elective.

Because she had also tasted the benefits of potions, she naturally fantasized about whether she had a talent for concocting them.

But unfortunately, Big Sis Bai said she didn’t have any talent in this area, but even now, she still had a few potion-concocting techniques up her sleeve.

Thanks to Big Sis Bai’s knowledge of potions, I now understood a lot of common sense about them.

For example, the refreshing and mind-clearing potion that I thought was pretty good before was actually one of the most cost-effective potions, and the long-lasting memory potion was just a very ordinary type among potions that enhance memory.

In this aspect, Big Sis Bai knew more than me, so it was naturally worth my humble learning.

In the end, while learning about potions, Big Sis Bai also took the opportunity to buy a lot for me as a gift.

And in the end, it was Big Sis Bai who paid.

Only then did I realize how bottomless Big Sis Bai’s wallet was.

Before, when I still used money, I was always worried, but now I realize how shallow I was.

Even if I became rich overnight now, I might not be as wealthy as Big Sis Bai.

I really want to know how the senior sisters make money.

Or is a rich woman like Big Sis Bai just an exception?

Unfortunately, Big Sis Bai was unwilling to tell me.

The happy process passed quickly.

After we finished buying potions and shopping, there was still a lot of time left.

This was a huge surprise to me.

I clearly felt that a long time had passed.

But it made sense when I thought about it.

I didn’t go out much before, and when I did, I would spend a lot of time on the road by taking a vehicle slowly.

Now that I had my flying license, I could fly directly wherever I went, which was very convenient and time-saving.

“It seems quite early. Is there anything else Little Han wants to do?”

“I don’t think so.

As expected, I’m still not used to the life of a normie.”

“If you’re not used to it, you don’t have to force yourself. Just be clear about what you’re doing.”

Bai Yu shook her head.

She could see that I was still a bit anxious at the moment, but this kind of thing couldn’t be changed overnight.

“Why don’t we go back? I’ll walk you back.”

“Eh? We’re going back already?”

“But I don’t think you have any intention of continuing, right? I already told you not to force yourself. Let’s go. Do you want to bring me back to your dorm to see your roommates?”

“Eh? That… that’s probably not necessary, right? They don’t really know you, Big Sis Bai, and…”

“Then I won’t go in. Consider it as me just walking you back. Besides, I have my own things to take care of too.”

“Eh? Big Sis Bai, since you have things to do, don’t waste your time with me like this!”

“It’s fine, it’s nothing urgent. I believe it can probably be done today.”

After Bai Yu finished speaking, she accompanied me and flew in the direction of my dorm.

But soon, I saw the bakery across the street from my villa.

At this hour, the seniors at the bakery were still sticking to their posts in the shop?

Didn’t I remember them getting tickets to the arena?

I even saw them cheering for me in the arena, but unfortunately, I never had a chance to say hello to them.

Speaking of which, it seemed like it had been several days since I last went to the Bakery Club.

I remembered that I was still a member of this club and a part-time clerk at the bakery.

Although I wasn’t short of money now, the thought of exchanging Mithril for money made my heart ache.

After all, Mithril silver coins and Arcanite gold coins could be easily exchanged for money, but money couldn’t necessarily buy a lot of Arcanite or Mithril, even though these materials were very common transcendent materials.

But everything is relative.

At different levels, a greater price must be paid.

“What? You want to go to the Bakery Club and have a look? I can go with you.”

Bai Yu saw my gaze fixed on the bakery below and spoke up beside me.

“Eh? But Big Sis Bai, don’t you have your own things to do?”

“I do have things to do, but I haven’t started yet, so it’s equivalent to having nothing to do.”

“Huh? It can be like that? But I do want to go and have a look. There seem to be quite a few people down there. Since the school year started, the bakery has been quite busy with customers.”

I rode my broom and slowly landed at the shop entrance.

As soon as I got down, I saw the busy Senior Ying Shiqian through the glass.

Even when I pushed the door open, causing the bell on the corner of the door to ring, the senior was too busy to notice my presence.

“Senior Ying Shiqian, still busy?”

“Mm… Hmm? Little Han? Eh! Why are you here? I haven’t seen you in a few days, I’ve missed you to death.”

Ying Shiqian was so excited to see me that she wanted to pounce, but I held her back.

At this moment, Big Sis Bai at the side silently retracted her hand, pretending nothing had happened.

“It’s only been a few days. I saw you all cheering for me in the arena, you know?”

“Really? I thought you didn’t see us. The seats we got were a bit off to the side, hehe.”

“Hmm? Little Han has time to come to the bakery?”

At this moment, Senior Tang Yihan also came out from the back door, carrying a large cake, ready to cut it up at the front.

“Eh? I just got back. I saw you seniors were still busy on the way, so I came over to have a look. You don’t mind, do you? I’ve been extremely busy these past few days, so I haven’t come to help you.”

“It’s understandable that you’re busy. You’re a contestant representing a class. You can’t let helping us delay you. But, the current Little Han is also the dark horse of this batch. You and Little Tan are both hot favorites to win the championship now.”

“That’s right! The thought of the first and second place of this batch both being members of our Bakery Club is so exciting!”

Senior Ying Shiqian added from the side.

“Eh? Are you Little Han?”

At this moment, a senior who was browsing and buying desserts here also confirmed this unbelievable fact from the conversation.

To randomly run into the hot favorite for this year’s Newcomer Competition in a bakery, she definitely had to get close and take a photo as a souvenir!

“It really is! This is the first time I’ve seen you so up close. Can I have your autograph? Or a photo together would be great too!”

“Count me in, I want a photo too.”

As the first person who recognized me asked for a photo, the other seniors in the shop also came over to join the fun.

“Wait, include me.”

At this moment, Bai Yu saw me being surrounded by so many people and immediately squeezed in, swatting away a few groping hands and protecting me from behind.

This farce lasted for a good while before it ended.

I looked at the Polaroid photo they gave me before leaving, still a bit dazed, but Big Sis Bai was in this photo.

“Big Sis Bai, I didn’t expect you to join in the fun too.”

“It’s nothing. Next time you encounter these seniors, you need to learn to say no. Their intentions might not be that pure.”

“I know.”

Just as I was about to say something in rebuttal, there was a noise at the shop entrance, and a person I hadn’t seen in a long time appeared.

It was Shop Manager Xia Li.

“I was wondering why the shop was so lively. So it’s Little Han. It’s been a few days. The moment you arrived, I saw so many people gathering. It’s a good thing I didn’t come with Little Tan, otherwise, I can only imagine the shop would be packed.”

“Indeed.”

I nodded.

Tan Han herself was a hot topic, and her temperament was something I couldn’t compare to.

She was indeed more popular than me on the academy’s network.

But I didn’t know if it was my imagination.

Since Shop Manager Xia Li came in, I seemed to see something flash across her body.

It was because of this anomaly that I decided to directly activate a deeper level of my Spirit Vision.

But after seeing Xia Li with this level of Spirit Vision, I was instantly frightened by the scene before me.

The thing that was originally faint and indistinct now burst forth with its original illusory gold.

They were fine threads, but I soon associated them with what they were.

That was destiny, the kind of destiny threads that Tan Han wove!

But unlike the single strand wrapped around me, the threads on the shop manager’s body seemed to be tangled and knotted, as if trying to trap Xia Li tightly, even as cruel as being torn apart by five horses.

But in reality, Xia Li was not affected at all.

But was she really not affected?

I asked myself this but couldn’t get an answer.

I only knew that at this moment, Shop Manager Xia Li gave me the same feeling as Tan Han did back then, being led by destiny.

The threads of destiny seemed not to belong to Xia Li, with the other end stretched tautly into the distance until it disappeared.

This scene truly sent a chill down my spine.

Could this have been Tan Han’s doing?

Or

the fate Big Sis Bai said one might encounter by getting close to Tan Han?

It seems that the next time I see Tan Han, it’ll be necessary to ask about this matter.

My gaze fell on the knotted destiny threads, and this thought emerged in my mind.

I wonder if I can untie this?

After all, I also have a strand of destiny thread, and I can interfere with it, but the ones on Xia Li’s body might not be the same; they don’t belong to me.

But my Spirit Vision, after I gained an understanding of the concept of destiny threads, could see its existence.

I should be able to touch it, right?
