Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 181: The Academy Exchange Competition Where All Academies Converge

After personally teaching that fellow a lesson, I returned to my seat.

This time, it was also a lesson for myself.

In the future, I can’t just casually sleep in public places outside.

And I had also underestimated my own popularity in the academy.

After calming down, especially after beating someone up, even my mood improved significantly.

The side effects from the potion were also mostly gone after this nap.

Now I just had to wait for the afternoon’s competition to end, for the announcement of the rewards for tomorrow’s top ten.

As the afternoon competition progressed, the Witch Academy’s Newcomer Top 100 List had almost been finalized.

With the birth of the last three contestants for the top ten, tomorrow would be the challenge for the ranking of the top ten spots.

And today’s competition ended much earlier than yesterday’s, even now it was only an afternoon with the sun at its peak.

But that was fine, the academy wouldn’t waste such time.

After all, there was the more important announcement of the top ten rewards in the afternoon, as well as the lottery for the exhibition match.

The exhibition match also had rewards to be won.

As the top ten contestants were born, the contestants on the field were also cheering for their entry into the top ten.

And the most conspicuous one was Shi Huiyu.

Sure enough, without me, she also had the strength to be in the top ten.

But she was quickly and politely asked to step down by the referee, because what followed was the final summary.

At this moment, Lina, as the Director of the newcomer grade, also stood on the speech platform.

No microphone was needed; a simple spell could make everyone present hear clearly.

And at this time, such a teacher was needed to speak on the phased conclusion of the Newcomer Competition.

The subsequent rewards would also be announced by her.

“I am very happy that this session of the Witch Academy’s Newcomer Competition could proceed smoothly to this stage.”

“After today, the academy will officially announce the top one hundred newcomers to the entire school to acknowledge everyone’s efforts in the competition.”

“And next, the most important ranking of the top ten newcomers for tomorrow will also be decided tomorrow. To encourage all newcomers and motivate their enthusiasm for the competition, I will now announce the rewards for tomorrow’s top ten rankings.”

“First, the rewards for the sixth to tenth places are announced. The regular rewards are one hundred Earth Vein Memories, a selection of Earth Vein materials, 100 Magic Power Sources, as well as one High Consumption Spellbook, which the last five can choose in order, two Medium Consumption Spellbooks of their choice, and five Basic Consumption Spellbooks.”

Lina first announced the rewards for the last five of the top ten.

The rewards seemed quite good, and the gap wasn’t large.

The only difference for the last five was probably the order in which they chose their spellbooks.

However, choosing a suitable or the most powerful spellbook first was also an advantage, and the last of the top ten naturally had no choice.

But this was a High Consumption Spellbook, a spellbook with a one-hundred-point magic power consumption.

Even for Tan Han, aside from that ultimate trump card, a hundred-point consumption spellbook was her most powerful tool.

They had seen the power of this kind of spellbook, and Tan Han had personally demonstrated it for them.

I had also displayed a spellbook of this level, but I hadn’t used it in combat.

However, just from its aura, it was very intimidating.

To ensure they could use such a spellbook, the academy had even thoughtfully prepared one hundred Magic Power Sources for them.

As for whether they knew the classification of spellbooks or what Earth Vein Memory was, Lina didn’t care.

If you don’t know, won’t you ask someone after the competition ends today?

“Next are the rewards for fourth and fifth place, which are three hundred and two hundred Earth Vein Memories respectively, a selection of Earth Vein materials, two hundred Magic Power Sources each, two High Consumption Spellbooks, five Medium Consumption Spellbooks, and ten Basic Consumption Spellbooks.”

Now, except for the top three which had not been announced, the rewards for the top ten were enough to make many people green with envy.

The rankings after the top ten were not so generous.

Even for spellbooks, there was no reward like a High Consumption Spellbook; the highest reward spellbook’s consumption was only close to a High Consumption Spellbook, but did not reach it.

And such rewards made those newcomers who couldn’t even participate in the Newcomer Competition even more envious, jealous, and hateful.

But there was nothing to be done; the academy would not consider their thoughts at this time.

The Newcomer Competition was the first way to obtain resources after the start of school.

As the saying goes, a horse doesn’t get fat without night fodder.

If you can’t even fight for a class president position in your class, you naturally don’t have the qualification to show yourself in the Newcomer Competition.

Let alone showing yourself, you can’t even embarrass yourself on the field.

As for some classes where the class president was chosen frivolously, it was a wake-up call for them.

The Transcendent Witch Academy was no longer the academy you attended before.

If you’re still fooling around here, you deserve to be an ordinary person.

And when the information about the Newcomer Competition was announced, the fact that people could die was deliberately emphasized by the counselors.

This was a further screening.

If you’re afraid of death, why come to a Transcendent Academy?

And it was true that people could die in the Newcomer Competition.

The academy wasn’t lying, was it?

“Next is the third place, the runner-up, five hundred Earth Vein Memories, a selection of Earth Vein materials, 300 Magic Power Sources, one Non-restricted Spellbook, one High Consumption Spellbook, 10 Medium Consumption Spellbooks, 20 Basic Consumption Spellbooks, and one custom-made alchemy item voucher, to be custom-made by the academy.”

With the announcement of the third-place prize, everyone was very surprised, because among them was a Non-restricted Spellbook.

This one book was worth several High Consumption Spellbooks!

Even my gaze slightly sharpened.

This Non-restricted Spellbook was a spellbook without a fixed consumption.

This meant it was a spellbook without a clear usage threshold.

Spellbooks that couldn’t be graded by consumption threshold would be classified into this category.

This type of spellbook was more flexible than other spellbooks, but it also had an upper limit.

Otherwise, if this kind of spellbook had no limit, wouldn’t it be used directly as a Million God Spellbook?

And there was a reason why I paid so much attention to this, because that kind of spellbook that improved learning efficiency would usually be classified as a Non-restricted Spellbook.

“Next is the runner-up prize, eight hundred Earth Vein Memories, a selection of Earth Vein materials, 500 Magic Power Sources, two Non-restricted Spellbooks, two High Consumption Spellbooks, 10 Medium Consumption Spellbooks, 20 Basic Consumption Spellbooks, and three custom-made alchemy item vouchers.”

And before the many contestants and the audience could exclaim, the prize for this year’s champion followed.

“And the prize for the champion of this Newcomer Competition, one thousand Earth Vein Memories, a selection of Earth Vein materials, 500 Magic Power Sources, one Super Consumption Spellbook, one High Consumption Spellbook, 10 Medium Consumption Spellbooks, 20 Basic Consumption Spellbooks, and five custom-made alchemy item vouchers.”

As soon as such a reward was announced, the audience and contestants were all shocked at the same time, and then the audience burst into intense discussion, mixed with cries of unwillingness.

This was the Newcomer Competition.

Previous Newcomer Competitions had never had a reward of the level of a Super Consumption Spellbook.

Although everyone knew that Tan Han already had such a spellbook, the imbalance in their hearts was still an imbalance, but many people also thought they had figured it out.

Because this Newcomer Competition was different.

After today’s competition, what would follow was the exchange competition with other academies!

This was for the glory of the school.

Many people could understand the Witch Academy teachers playing some small tricks to favor some contestants, but this still made them feel so unbalanced, only lamenting that they were born in the wrong year.

A Super Consumption Spellbook, the power of that kind of spellbook even though Tan Han messed up the first time she showed the power of this kind of spell, everyone still had a fresh memory of the blizzard that swept the entire open-air arena!

Such a spellbook was enough to trigger a celestial phenomenon!

Looking at the entire world, a person with such a spellbook would be enough to become a strategic-level combat power that threatened the entire world.

Of course, this was also ignoring other transcendent powers.

Transcendent Academies controlled such terrifying power.

Ordinary people who had not come into contact with the transcendent could not even imagine that such combat power could be controlled by a student?

Apart from the reverence for transcendent power, there was more longing and fanaticism for transcendent power.

As soon as such a reward was announced, the ones who couldn’t sit still were the other transcendent academies that came for the exchange.

They came with an attitude of ”friendly exchange,” and you’re giving a newcomer a cheat in front of my face?

Even though in the past two days, they had already gathered intelligence that Tan Han already had a Super Consumption Spellbook, but without enough Magic Power Source support.

Now that the Magic Power Sources were replenished, and another such terrifying spellbook was given, how were other newcomers supposed to play?

Yes, that’s right, Aphrodite Academy had indeed mocked Witch Academy for being trash in the early stages, only relying on Magic Power Sources and spellbooks as combat methods, but that didn’t mean they weren’t afraid, right?

Previously, that Erica leading the elves was somewhat envious of the existence of spellbooks, which was enough to show that spellbooks were very precious.

Spellbooks didn’t necessarily have to consume magic power; they could be driven by magic power because the spellbooks created by witches had the ability to convert magic power.

And these academies naturally couldn’t just sit there.

They had to take action.

If they increased Tan Han’s strength again, how would the students they brought play?

Serve as her fodder?

So it must be stopped, and if they could snatch such a spellbook into the hands of their own students, it would also be a very good result.

So after Lina announced these rewards, many transcendent academies began to contact each other, especially the Three Great Top-tier Academies.

Today was already the fourth day of the Witch Academy’s Newcomer Competition, and many academies had successively arrived at the Witch Academy.

Among them were academies like Aphrodite that entered with a high profile, and there were also types that didn’t make a sound when they came in, very low-key, for example, the Wizard Academy.

However, the Wizard Academy was one of the Three Great Top-tier Academies after all, and they also came in flying ships.

But it was undeniable that at this point in time, the number of transcendent academies that had arrived at the Witch Academy was no less than a dozen.

Their communication was very fast, and their goals were also consistent.

Soon, they roughly had some plans.

“Please wait a moment!”

With a loud shout from the guest box for foreign visitors in the arena, everyone’s eyes turned there.

That place was the first box to be used, which was the elves from Aphrodite Academy, and the one who stepped forward was Erica, one of the leaders this time.

“Oh? Does this teacher from Aphrodite Academy have any objections to our Witch Academy’s internal teaching arrangements?”

Turning to look there, that sharp gaze seemed as if it would cut the box open.

She had thought that other academies might have objections to their Newcomer Competition rewards, after all, the rewards were too rich.

The first place was obviously prepared for Tan Han.

But Lina also didn’t expect someone to be the first to step out at this time, Aphrodite Academy?

It didn’t seem to be an accident.

After all, the Witch Academy was now clear about Aphrodite Academy’s little moves.

They were the academy with the most Seeds of Destiny.

Naturally, they were the most anxious.

“Respected Ms. Lina, I represent Aphrodite Academy to state that I absolutely have no objection to the Witch Academy’s arrangements. I am just here to make a small suggestion.”

“This time, our major transcendent academies are gathering at the Witch Academy, which is a very meaningful event in itself. The purpose of our visit this time is to have an exchange between newcomers, to promote the relationship between transcendent academies, share experiences, and complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses.”

“I think the Witch Academy’s Newcomer Competition has already entered its final stage, and the final top ten have been selected. If it’s just simply accepting the unilateral rewards from the Witch Academy, it would be too monotonous. Why don’t I, on behalf of Aphrodite Academy, offer corresponding rewards and merge the final top ten ranking challenge into the exchange competition between our academies?”

Erica’s voice was loud and clear, even with a hint of persuasion.

“But you only represent Aphrodite Academy, and we also need such a challenge to determine the final ranking of the top ten.”

Lina said at this moment with a somewhat displeased expression, but she didn’t argue too much, because she knew that after this point was raised, many academies would surely follow, and she couldn’t win against them.

And the Academy Head had also anticipated this kind of thing.

If anyone should be troubled, it should be the Academy Head.

Anyway, she couldn’t represent the Witch Academy to accept their opinion now.

And she hadn’t thought of rejecting this proposal either.

Other academies had their own plans, didn’t the Witch Academy?

They were willing to give out those rewards, which was the most direct benefit.

Who would win and who would lose was uncertain.

“I am Andrew Jenny, and I represent the Wizard Academy in agreeing to this proposal. The younger generation should indeed communicate more. This is the only way to promote their own growth. Our Wizard Academy will also provide equivalent resources as the final reward for the academy exchange.”

At this moment, an old but vigorous voice sounded from another box.

They announced their identities, representing the will of the Wizard Academy.

“Let me introduce myself, I am Gena McIntosh of the Holy Angel Academy, and also one of the leading mentors of the academy this time. Regarding the proposal made by that beautiful elf lady just now, we at Holy Angel Academy also agree. We will offer even more precious resources for this academy exchange.”

“Haha, of course, this is also a small token of our academy’s goodwill. After all, I have to mention that your school’s student, Tan Han, originally applied to our Holy Angel Academy. Even though she has now become a Reserve Witch, out of care for a genius, we are also willing to offer higher-standard treatment. May the Holy Light forever shine equally on every talented student.”

With the representatives of the Three Great Top-tier Academies speaking out, representatives of many other academies also expressed their academy’s opinions, in short, they all agreed with this proposal.

Anyway, the matter of the academy exchange had been settled, so it was better to drag the Witch Academy into it sooner.

And the rewards given by the Witch Academy this time were also very unfair.

They definitely couldn’t let them be given out now, otherwise, would they let the Witch Academy’s newcomers steamroll everyone during the exchange?

Although they were confident that their academy’s students’ strength wouldn’t be crushed to this extent, the Witch Academy had Tan Han!

This was one of the main reasons they went through so much trouble to come to the Witch Academy for the exchange!

“Ms. Lina, since the opinions of all the academies are so consistent, then may I ask if your esteemed school will make a decision that disappoints everyone?”

Erica smiled and looked at Lina.

The current main venue of the arena was the Witch Academy, and she was very satisfied with the current atmosphere.

If the Witch Academy still insisted on its own way with this proposal, then they had ways to spread rumors of the Witch Academy’s cowardly retreat.

And these rumors would spread to every transcendent academy, and even flow out to the outside society.

Although in the outside world, the Witch Academy’s reputation wasn’t very good to begin with.

“Everyone is a guest visiting our Witch Academy, and also the main body for the upcoming newcomer exchange. We will naturally consider your proposals as appropriate. I will communicate with the Academy Head and the others about this matter. I believe we will give everyone a satisfactory answer tomorrow.”

“Of course, since all the academies have clearly expressed their attitudes, then for the rest of the time today, please move, and let us discuss the various matters of the upcoming academy exchange together.”

“At the same time, I officially announce that today’s Newcomer Competition ends here. Due to unforeseen circumstances and other uncontrollable factors, the subsequent Newcomer Competition will be postponed indefinitely. The specific situation will be subject to the official notice issued by the academy. Thank you all for your attendance and viewing.”

With these words from Lina, this farcical Newcomer Competition officially came to an end, and the subsequent top ten ranking was also postponed.

But everyone understood that it was gone, there was nothing left.

But no one felt regret for this, because what would greet everyone next, what would be presented to everyone, would be an even more tense and exciting newcomer exchange competition jointly held by dozens of transcendent academies.

A collision between other academies, other races, and other powers.

This was much more interesting than newcomers pecking at each other.

And the ones brought by each academy were elites.

Who wouldn’t look forward to such a competition?

Of course, there were also many cute young ladies, beast-eared girls, and handsome young men, adding a different kind of fun to this female-dominated Witch Academy.
