Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 188: The Powerful Memory Bookshelf Spellbook

She left just like that?

Watching Big Sis Bai’s hasty departure, I figured Big Sis Bai must have her own things to do again?

I subconsciously touched my lips, recalling my impulsive action just now.

Now that I had calmed down, my thoughts had regained the high ground.

Big Sis Bai felt so strange recently, really so strange, she had changed so much compared to before.

Could it be that Big Sis Bai was interested in me?

But having this kind of relationship with Big Sis Bai no matter how I thought about it, it felt a bit weird, right?

When I was still a boy, Big Sis Bai had no interest in me.

I could clearly feel that trace of distance due to the difference between genders, but now that feeling was gradually being broken.

Because I had also become a girl.

Although Big Sis Bai called us best friends in name, it had already reached this point, I should have realized it.

After all, I had had a girlfriend before, if that Yao Beijuan counted.

But sigh, I didn’t know how to face Big Sis Bai’s feelings.

If this feeling remained a friendship, then nothing would change.

If it was something else…

Sigh, then there’s nothing I can do about Big Sis Bai.

Anyway, I already owe her so much, let’s put this kind of troublesome matter aside for later.

I picked up the spellbook in my hand, its name was Memory Bookshelf?

It felt like every time Big Sis Bai gave me various things, they were always the most useful ones for me, whether it was spellbooks or alchemical items.

Without hesitation, I directly inserted this spellbook into my body.

Let me see what this spellbook could do.

Inside this spellbook, there was also the introduction I was expecting.

After all, it was a very valuable type of spellbook.

Without an introduction, its importance wouldn’t be reflected.

Of course, this also saved me the process of figuring it out myself.

At least I would know how to use it the moment I possessed it.

I pushed open the door and returned to the laboratory.

“Little Han, who was that just now?”

“It was a senior I know. She came to see me and brought me something.”

“Is that so? So that’s how it is. But I think I heard someone shouting outside just now, who was that?”

“Oh, that. Coincidentally, the other person is an elf from Aphrodite Academy, and also my ex-girlfriend.”

“So that’s your ex… ex-girlfriend?”

Tan Han’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Although the current social climate was very open, same-sex relationships were not particularly common after all.

Even though she knew before that Little Han had such an ex-girlfriend, she didn’t expect her to find her here.

“Yeah, unfortunately, we went our separate ways after the college entrance exam.”

I nodded and said nothing more.

Besides, I had previously indicated that I used to be a boy and had mentioned having such an ex-girlfriend.

She shouldn’t be this surprised, right?

“Then why did she come here?”

“Oh, I don’t know, but I was chatting with my senior just now, and she misunderstood and ran off. But I couldn’t be bothered to explain.”

“Maybe she came to get back together with you?”

“I don’t think it’s very likely, but I didn’t expect you to be the type to pick up a past relationship?”

“No, that’s not what I mean. Forget it, I’m not the person involved, so I’m not qualified to comment here. Since you’ve already made your decision, there’s naturally no need for me to express my opinion anymore.”

“Mm, thank you for your understanding.”

I nodded and returned to my Earth Vein Operating System.

As expected, talking with a study god was less tiring.

And now I was more interested in finding out the effect of the spellbook Big Sis Bai gave me.

The Memory Bookshelf spell effect required a large amount of magic power to shape a ”permanent” spell effect on the first use, which was to create a bookshelf for placing ”books”.

This bookshelf existed in the spell dimension created by this spell, and I needed to communicate with it using my mental power, so there was a threshold for using this spellbook.

First, a large amount of initial magic power was needed to meet the usage threshold, and then my mental power needed to establish a connection with this spell effect, which was to communicate with the ”space” where the bookshelf was stored.

As for how to use this spell, it required a continuous consumption of magic power to condense blank books, as well as ink and pens, and to write content in the books.

This process continuously consumed magic power.

And when the written content was placed on the bookshelf, it could be interconnected with one’s own memory through mental power.

The greatest value of this spellbook was that there was no upper limit to the bookshelf and the books.

Of course, a person had an upper limit.

The more books, the more records, and the greater the burden when interconnecting with this memory.

So, the further one went, the more time was needed to organize these book memories and streamline the content.

If that memory could be understood by oneself without interconnection, then that book could be thrown away.

This was practically a divine artifact for aiding memory!

It could quickly interconnect memories, assist with memorization, and if I remembered it myself, I could throw the memory from the bookshelf to reduce my burden.

What kind of divine spellbook was this!

But I had to add, after one person used this spellbook, the vast knowledge base established could not be transferred.

Because this spellbook could naturally be taken out, but this spellbook also had another layer of connection on the mental level.

If it were to be gifted, this connection naturally needed to be severed.

Without this connection, the effects of those spellbooks would instantly dissipate.

After all, there was no one using mental power to maintain its existence, so it would naturally dissipate.

After all, those bookshelves and books were just spell effects and not real objects.

But even so, the value of this spellbook far exceeded my imagination, even more than the Flexible Learning and Application Spell.

Wait, I can’t compare it like that.

After all, the Flexible Learning and Application Spell focused on learning and inspiring thought.

It could be said that combining these two spellbooks would be the most terrifying!

Having a vast database and thought inspiration, wouldn’t that utilize Flexible Learning and Application to the extreme?

Flexible Learning and Application would also speed up the self-learning of these memories, preventing too many memories from piling up on the bookshelf and adding to my own burden.

Although I was still a long way from reaching the point of being burdened, some things needed to be planned for from the very beginning.

As I began to experiment with this spell, the spellbook was mobilized by my mental power, and a large amount of magic power was drawn away at this moment.

I roughly felt it, and it wasn’t until a huge, slightly quaint wooden symmetrical bookshelf appeared in front of me that the spell’s effect officially took hold.

The magic power consumption was about one hundred units.

It wasn’t very high for me, but it was enough to deter many people.

I wondered if alchemical items that stored magic power could be used as a substitute.

It should be possible, since this was a spell.

And this was the first threshold for using this spellbook.

Next was the consumption of books, ink, and the continuous consumption of writing memories.

I found that the condensed books also had wooden covers, a very thick blank notebook, probably thicker than a dictionary, and the pen was a white quill pen that I wasn’t very used to.

Unfortunately, these didn’t seem to be things I could control.

But if I wanted to mod these things, I still didn’t quite know where to start.

After all, this spellbook was another unfamiliar field I had never touched before.

Compared to spending a huge price to move it and mod it, I thought it might be good to take the initiative to adapt to it myself.

Besides, I had used a dip pen before, I hoped it wasn’t too difficult to use.

Let’s talk about modding later when I have nothing to do.

This wasn’t something that had to be done.

“Little Han, what’s this?”

The commotion on my side naturally attracted Tan Han’s attention.

After all, she wasn’t very clear about the effects of this spellbook, but it was the first time she had seen a spell effect that was such a large bookshelf.

“Oh, it’s just a spell effect. You’ll probably come across all sorts of strange spells in the future.”

I didn’t give Tan Han too much explanation, and Tan Han didn’t press the matter.

After all, everyone had their privacy, there was no need to probe like this, or it would only annoy people.

I naturally gave a thumbs-up for Tan Han’s tact, but my attention was still on this spell effect.

After all, this bookshelf effect was presented, and the space that accommodated this bookshelf, which was presented by this spell effect, would also be opened up.

To call it a space wasn’t entirely accurate.

After all, this was a spell effect, not a physical object.

It wasn’t really opening up a space.

If it really opened up a space, it could be used as storage equipment.

And I had quite a bit of storage equipment, just the storage thigh straps alone were numerous, not to mention the super-large storage equipment Teacher Ji Niang gave me.

But thinking about it this way, having a spellbook that opened up space seemed pretty good too?

It wouldn’t be easily stolen, nor would it be lost or anything.

But this type of spellbook must be very rare, right?

After the bookshelf integrated into that place, the next threshold of this spellbook appeared, which was for the mental power to communicate with that ”space,” connect, and form a state of interconnection.

This should be a very tricky problem for many people.

The fact that Big Sis Bai could get this spell, this threshold must be one of the important reasons, right?

I wonder if Big Sis Bai knew about this.

But this wasn’t an issue for me.

With my Floating World-level Spirit Vision, such an existence couldn’t hide at all.

My mental power, guided by Spirit Vision, was like taking something out of my pocket.

This difficulty was not even comparable to the difficulty of my mental power interconnecting with this spell effect.

When I established a connection with the effect of this spell, the enlightenment fed back by the spell was even more useful than the instruction manual engraved within the spell.

This time, after obtaining these two spellbooks that enhanced my learning efficiency, the regret from the previous newcomer top ten reward was completely gone!

Now, I could directly look down on the previous Newcomer Competition.

It made me feel bad for so long.

And those other academies, those academies that one by one said they would put the rewards in the exchange competition, I would settle the score with them one by one, especially Aphrodite Academy.

That academy started it, and it made people unhappy.

Of course, that was just a thought for now.

I had more important things to do now.

Then, I pulled over a chair and sat down, opened the first blank book on the Memory Bookshelf, dipped some ink, and started writing.

The first thing I recorded was naturally content related to illusions, because my decision to mod the Illusory Clone had never changed.

I had been preparing for it during the previous period.

“Looks like we’re about to defy the heavens. Big Sis Bai could even find this kind of spell?”

At this moment, the clone also came over from Tan Han’s side and whispered to me with a smile.

“Heh, you didn’t say anything you shouldn’t have to Tan Han just now, did you?”

I looked at the clone coldly and asked.

“As for what shouldn’t be said, your subconscious also knows it shouldn’t be said. Do you still not trust yourself? I just chatted with Tan Han about our three measurements and some other things.”

“You even talk about that kind of thing! And you still say you didn’t talk nonsense!”

“It’s your own subconscious that has the idea of showing off, okay? You’re a pervert and I… oh, we’re both perverts. We’re just flat boards, what’s there to show off?”

“Oh Wait, not a flat board, but just average at best. After all, it hasn’t been long since we became girls, they’ll get bigger in the future.”

“You don’t need to tell me that.”

After speaking, I ignored this clone.

I almost thought the clone would leak my secret, but she did remind me, my subconscious wouldn’t lie to me.

Perhaps it was this clone’s malicious personality that made me think she was an independent individual?

But that was still me.

So if there were no other factors, would I be like that?

It seemed not surprising at all.

After all, I also had a mentality of enjoying the show, but I had restrained it a lot after school started.

I even neglected the socializing that I had been concerned about before.

I had clearly said that after becoming a girl, I would start my new life and change myself from that moment on, but now it seemed I was just me after a change of gender.

I was ultimately still me, seemingly without any change.

The only thing that had changed was the thought of wanting to change.

Time passed quickly.

In the blink of an eye, the day passed.

I ordered takeout for lunch, and so did Tan Han.

However, she didn’t seem to have the habit of eating takeout.

Her first reaction at noon was to invite me to the cafeteria.

After all, I was currently in the Central Teaching Area of Witch Academy, which was naturally very close to the academy’s cafeteria.

But I refused.

Seeing this, Tan Han lost interest in going to the cafeteria and ordered takeout like me, probably to save time.

And by the end of the day, I had thoroughly understood the Illusory Clone spell.

I even came up with new creative applications based on my current level of mastery.

For example, it was easier to control the clone with my subjective consciousness, and I could also distinguish whether the clone’s behavior seen by the person under the spell was based on my subconscious or the victim’s subconscious.

These two had their own characteristics, so there was no superiority or inferiority, just one more option.

But these all belonged to applications after understanding the basics of the spellbook.

Compared to these, I still preferred the initial version’s unruly appearance, although the clone in that state was indeed very punchable.

And I had now developed other functions, which were various ways or ”mediums” to make the other party fall under the spell.

Before, it was always that kind of spell rune, but now it was more convenient to use.

Contact, perception, eye contact, and mental power perception were all derived ways that could possibly make the other party fall under the spell.

And the appearance of the Illusory Clone could also be changed.

It no longer had to look like me; she could be anyone I had an impression of, or even a non-existent person.

Or to go a step further, it didn’t even have to be a person!

This way, the utility value of this Illusory Clone skyrocketed!

With a big enough imagination, one could play around with it endlessly.

As expected, being knowledgeable is not as good as being proficient.

Of course, being both knowledgeable and proficient is naturally better.

This must be the norm for long-lived witches, right?

The precipitation of time made older witches even more terrifying.

Then, what kind of existence would the Primal Witch, the origin of witches, be?

I dared not even think about it…

Today, Tan Han also thoroughly understood the theoretical foundation of the Fireball spellbook, which made me feel the terror of a study god.

Even though what Tan Han understood was the most basic theoretical structure of Fireball, not like me, who explored from scratch.

It was just the simple model Teacher Ji Niang gave in the morning, but that was still a spellbook.

Of course, this was also thanks to the contributions of me and my clone.

And I also learned what ”great success comes from asking when you don’t understand” meant.

Tan Han’s potential in this aspect was something even my punchable Illusory Clone couldn’t handle.

If Tan Han wasn’t a study god, who would dare to call themselves one?

Perhaps there was still a lot I needed to learn from Tan Han.

This was a very realistic matter.

I really shouldn’t have a sense of superiority.

A true master always maintains the mentality of an apprentice.

I understood all the chicken soup for the soul, but it was too difficult to actually do it.

“Are you leaving?”

“Yeah, it’s getting pretty late. Why don’t you ask Teacher Ji Niang for a Portable Earth Vein Operating System? It’s very convenient.”

“Mm, thanks, I will. By the way, Little Han, you promised to try the Dream State battle tomorrow, does that still count?”

“Mm.”

I nodded and said.

I should indeed go and try it out.

After all, the exchange competition was not child’s play like the Newcomer Competition, and I also had a reason to beat those guys up, so I should get used to it even more.

“Is that so? Then do you want to go with me?”

Tan Han extended an invitation to me, “I have some experience with battles in the Dream State device. I can teach you how to use it.”

“Thanks, I will.”

I nodded.

My current understanding of the Dream State device was still from when I was learning Spirit Vision cognition, but it was obvious that the Dream State exchange competition was not this mode.

“Then let’s set a time. The location is the one on the academy’s notice.”

“Mm… eight thirty then.”

I recalled that the opening time for the Dream State device seemed to be nine o’clock, so let’s go a little earlier and wait.

Maybe they would let us in early if they saw we were Witch Academy students?

“Then eight thirty it is.”

Tan Han also nodded, agreeing to this time.

“Also, thank you for your guidance today. I also benefited a lot. Then, goodbye for today.”

“Mm goodbye.”
