24: Chapter 24: The Much-Anticipated Update for Honor of Kings! So that’s how it is!

I get it now!

I understand everything now!

Pang Xietang was now fully confident.

Seeing how arrogant Bai Jingqing was,

he had thought Bai Jingqing might just have a massive capital reserve and wasn’t worried about losing it all,

which was why he was so overbearing.

Now, listening to Chairman Xue’s analysis,

it actually made perfect sense!

If he really had such a massive reserve,

he should have paid off the bank loans long ago!

But he had delayed the repayment for so long;

did he enjoy being hounded by debt collectors?

Clearly not.

This meant he didn’t actually have that much capital.

He was just gritting his teeth and holding on,

waiting for an opportunity.

Now Pang Xietang knew—

he was waiting for the official launch of honor of kings!

When that happened, most phones wouldn’t be able to maintain a stable 30 FPS,

and he guessed Bai Jingqing would start boasting again about how his phones could handle a stable 30 FPS.

But according to Chairman Xue,

most phones on the market couldn’t hit a stable 30 FPS at all.

Achieving a stable 30 FPS was much harder than imagined.

However, the Li Xiang Phone could do it!

That was because Li Xiang Technology had always collaborated with Penguin.

When Penguin launched a new game,

Ideal would naturally communicate with Penguin’s internal staff immediately

to perform better optimization and adaptation.

It would definitely be much better than those other off-brand phones.

”That kid!

I wondered why he never seemed panicked;

so this was his plan.

But what a pity!

Since Zhou Yu was born, why was Zhuge Liang also created?

You have your Zhang Liang’s strategy,

but I have my wall-climbing ladder!

You think you’re safe,

but unfortunately, Chairman Xue has already seen through everything.

Just you wait and see!

Your plan is going to fail!”

After ending the call,

Pang Xietang couldn’t help but rub his hands together in anticipation.

Looking at the leisurely kid across from him,

a contemptuous smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

...

Finally, under the watchful eyes of the public,

heroic battle records officially went offline,

and the renamed honor of kings was officially launched,

ushering in an epic update.

The installation package for this update alone was 1.5 GB!

In the 3G era,

downloading 1.5 GB really took all night.

Keep in mind that the previous heroic battle records was only around 500 MB!

The size had increased nearly threefold!

At this time, the heroic battle records forum—

no, it should be called the honor of kings forum now—

was already going crazy.

”Holy crap! This is so exciting!

The installation package is actually this big!

You can tell Tencent is very ambitious!

The massive success of league of legends has made them set their sights on the mobile market.

They want to create another league of legends in the mobile market,

which is this honor of kings.”

”An installation package over a gigabyte!

I can’t even imagine how clear the graphics will be!

How smooth this game must be!

I can’t take it, I can’t take it,

I can’t wait to play!

But this damn internet download speed is way too slow!”

”I see the estimated download time is actually 1 day and 8 hours!

Damn it, I’d better get some sleep first.”

”It’s about the same for me,

so I’ll just lurk on the forum for a bit

to see if any pro has already finished downloading.”

”Impossible! Even with the fastest internet, it’ll probably take several hours.

Everyone should just wait a bit longer.

I don’t know when it’ll finish,

and I don’t know exactly what updates were made.

Anyway, the official announcement says this update is quite massive.

It truly deserves to be called an epic update.

I really want to play a couple of rounds right now!”

”I love playing league of legends,

but I don’t always have a computer nearby.

Sometimes when the itch comes,

I really don’t know what to do.

Now that we have honor of kings,

I feel much better.

You basically always have your phone on you;

no matter where you go, you’ll have it.

With honor of kings, you can play a round anytime, anywhere.

It’s really great!”

”I have a feeling

honor of kings is bound to explode in popularity!

It will definitely spawn many streamers and even professional players,

just like those pro players and big streamers in league of legends now.”

”Forget it, who would watch a stream of honor of kings?

People watch league of legends streams because they don’t have a computer nearby,

so they can only watch others play to satisfy their craving.

But you always have your phone with you.

In the time it takes to watch a stream,

you could have played a few rounds yourself.”

”Who knows.

Right now, I just want to finish the update and go in to experience it.”

...

Meanwhile,

in Shanghai,

there was a technical pro who, back in heroic battle records,

had already reached the top 100 in the entire server rankings.

He was called a master by many,

and some even sought him out to be their mentor.

It could be said that this game greatly satisfied his vanity,

so he really liked heroic battle records.

Now that the game was undergoing an epic update,

he was naturally very excited.

Moreover, seeing the size of the installation package,

he knew Tencent definitely intended to develop this game properly.

So this was a unique opportunity for him;

if he played his cards right,

he might soar straight to the top

and truly walk the path of a major streamer!

To that end, in order to enter the game a bit faster than others,

he had specifically installed the fastest 200 Mbps broadband currently available.

The download was indeed much faster than for others.

He couldn’t help but show off his internet speed on the forum.

Blood-Red Pupils: ”See that?

Is your internet speed as fast as mine?”

[Image][Image]

”Holy crap! Master Red Pupils!

That internet speed is insane!

How much does that broadband cost a month?”

Someone quickly left a comment under the post.

Blood-Red Pupils: ”This broadband costs about twenty thousand a year.”

As the crowd of onlookers grew,

many people expressed their envy for his internet speed.

Seeing so many people flattering or envying him,

Blood-Red Pupils felt very proud.

”This is the fastest internet in all of Shanghai.

Just you wait;

once I finish downloading and get into the game,

I’ll see exactly what updates there are.

I’ll post it on the forum then,

so you guys can be the first to know.”

”Master Red Pupils is awesome!”

”Bookmarking!”

”Bookmarking to wait and see!”

”I also want to see how big the changes are!”

Finally, three hours later,

Blood-Red Pupils’ game was finally downloaded.

He impatiently picked up his phone,

but as soon as he touched it, he was startled

and immediately threw the phone away.

”Holy crap! This phone is so hot!

Can three hours of downloading make a phone this hot?”

Blood-Red Pupils panicked a little;

a small blister had been burned onto the webbing of his hand by the high temperature.

He quickly took an ice pack out of the fridge,

iced the small blister first,

and once it didn’t feel so painful,

he carefully picked up the phone and placed it on the ice pack.

The phone finally cooled down a bit.

Ignoring the pain in his hand,

Blood-Red Pupils quickly clicked install

and then waited anxiously.

Ten minutes later,

it finally prompted that the installation was complete,

though the phone was still very hot,

even though it was currently sitting on an ice pack to cool down.

He didn’t care about that anymore

and directly tapped to open the game.

”Timi!”

Accompanied by a crisp sound,

the game started,

and the loading screen appeared.

In the center was a cool icon

with the four large characters for ”honor of kings.”

On either side, various heroes faced each other,

each looking heroic and valiant,

as if about to engage in an unprecedented battle.

Blood-Red Pupils carefully identified the heroes on the screen: ”Arthur, Zhou Yu, Ahri, Bai Qi,

ah, and my best hero, Miyamoto Musashi!”

Blood-Red Pupils was very excited.

There was a progress bar at the bottom decompressing game resources;

as soon as it finished,

he would be able to enter the world of Kings and fight to his heart’s content!

However, his excited and expectant expression soon vanished.

”Holy crap! I can’t get into the damn game!”

He found that the decompression progress bar was stuck at 33%,

unable to move even a tiny bit!
