11: Chapter 11 DeceptionTan Zhuoren and Da Ya both had expressions of absolute shock.

They truly hadn’t expected

to encounter such a boss!

In their impression,

bosses who sold digital products were all massive scammers.

Whether they sold phones or computers,

every single one of them,

was a complete swindler!

Their hearts were pitch black!

They took advantage of ordinary people not understanding hardware specifications.

But they hadn’t expected

that today they would meet a boss who was different from the rest.

”No, no, Boss,

you’re losing too much money this way.

We’ll help you promote it,

but if you give us the phones for free,

we definitely can’t accept them!

We should still pay for them ourselves.”

Hearing the two of them refuse,

Bai Jingqing was also very anxious.

Actually, giving each of them one wasn’t a big deal,

but if he let them buy the phones themselves,

they definitely wouldn’t be as dedicated to the promotion as they would if he gave them for free.

What he needed urgently now was to build a reputation,

expand sales volume as quickly as possible,

and obtain more profit points.

So he said, ”You college students don’t have much income,

so forget about buying them yourselves.

As long as each of you can bring ten people to buy a phone,

I’ll give each of you a xiaomi 4 for free.

I can still afford to give away two phones.”

Seeing that the two were still somewhat reluctant,

Bai Jingqing continued his deceit.

”You might not understand why.

You’ve heard of Huayao Technology, right?”

”Huayao Technology?”

Tan Zhuoren and Da Ya both followed the digital tech circle,

so they were no strangers to this name.

Huayao Technology could still stand on equal footing with the current domestic phone overlord, Li Xiang Phone.

But for some unknown reason,

Huayao Technology collapsed overnight,

incurring astronomical debts.

In the end, the company and all other assets were used as collateral.

Heard that the founder of Huayao Technology couldn’t withstand the pressure

and took their own life.

Many people felt it was a tragic loss,

but also felt that such things were common.

After all, the smartphone market was an emerging battlefield;

survival of the fittest and constant reshuffling

were very common.

The competition within could be said to be extremely fierce.

Even though Li Xiang Phone had such a large market share now

and was the overlord of domestic phones,

there was no telling when it might suddenly collapse too.

Da Ya asked curiously, ”What happened to Huayao Technology?

Is this phone a new product from Huayao Technology?

But I heard that Huayao Technology already went bankrupt?”

Bai Jingqing nodded. ”Huayao Technology has indeed gone bankrupt,

but in fact, the founders of Huayao Technology were my parents.

The two of them took their lives in regret,

and I feel very distressed about it.

Their greatest wish in life was to let more people enjoy the fun of technology.

So, what do you think I’m after by selling these so cheaply?

I just want to fulfill my parents’ last wish!

I hope I can do a little more in my lifetime

to help them realize their dream,

so my philosophy is also to let more people enjoy the fun of technology.

Therefore, you must help me with the promotion.

The more I sell, the happier I am.

The more I lose, the happier I am.

If you don’t help me promote it, I’ll actually feel upset!”

These words directly stunned the two college students.

A warm current surged in their hearts—

they were moved!

So deeply moved!

This handsome man before them was actually the crown prince of Huayao Technology!

The bankruptcy of Huayao Technology was indeed regrettable,

but they never expected the crown prince of Huayao Technology would still want to fulfill his parents’ last wish,

even at the cost of losing money to ensure more people could buy high-spec phones,

so that everyone could enjoy the fun of technology!

This was just too great!

Too selfless!

With a boss like this,

they felt guilty for all the doubts they had earlier.

At this moment, they both felt a bit of remorse.

Da Ya said, ”Boss, please don’t be too sad.

Misfortune can strike at any time; these things are hard to avoid.”

Bai Jingqing shook his head. ”You don’t need to comfort me.

I’ve actually come to terms with it.

Now, the only thing I can do is carry on my parents’ legacy

and let everyone use better products.”

If these words had come from any other phone peddler,

Tan Zhuoren and Da Ya would definitely think he was playing the emotional card

and selling a sob story.

But this was Boss Bai!

The specs of his xiaomi 4 were indeed high!

The price was indeed low!

So they felt that what Bai Jingqing said was entirely from the heart!

Tan Zhuoren immediately made a decision. ”We’ll bring people!

We’ll bring people right away!

It’s just ten people.

Boss, don’t worry.

The whole class—no, the whole grade,

the whole department, even all the students in the entire school,

we’ll call them all over!”

Tan Zhuoren and Da Ya put their heads together.

First, they sent WeChat messages to all the boys in their class,

telling them there was a super-discounted phone here,

selling for only 1999,

with performance comparable to a flagship.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

They were freshmen,

and many still hadn’t bought a phone.

Stirred up by these two,

the thought of buying one immediately came to mind.

So they all replied asking for the address.

The two of them sent the address over.

Then Da Ya scratched his head and said, ”Basically all the boys in the class have been messaged,

but I’m not very familiar with the girls.

How about you message them?”

Tan Zhuoren scratched his head. ”I’m not familiar with them either!

If I message them out of the blue,

won’t it be a bit abrupt?

Will they think we’re scammers?

After all, it’s easier with the boys;

most of them have at least some understanding of phone specs

and know we wouldn’t cheat them.

But for girls,

specs are very unfamiliar.

If we suddenly recommend a phone to them now,

will they think we’re trying to scam them out of their money?”

Da Ya thought for a moment and said, ”It’s fine, let’s just send it.

The boss is so conscientious

and has moved us so much.

Can we really be unwilling to speak up just because we’re afraid of being misunderstood?

Since we said we’d help the boss promote,

let’s see it through to the end.

Helping the boss realize his parents’ last wish

can be considered a great deed.”

So the two of them brainstormed together

and wrote a short essay,

introducing Bai Jingqing’s background.

At the same time, they took photos and wrote down the phone’s specs in detail,

then sent it to the girls in the class one by one.

Before long, many students rushed over.

Most of those who arrived first were boys.

Because when Tan Zhuoren and Da Ya spoke to them,

they said it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,

so they thought the discount was time-limited.

Worried the discount would be gone if they were late,

they rushed over at high speed.

At this moment, Tan Zhuoren and Da Ya also took on the role of shopping assistants,

introducing the phone to the other boys.

Bai Jingqing also brought out more devices to use as display units

for them to experience.

And on the girls’ side, quite a few people actually showed up quickly too!

In fact, they didn’t come because the phone specs were high,

or because they couldn’t bear to refuse Tan Zhuoren or Da Ya’s invitation.

It was because they saw Bai Jingqing’s photo

and found that he was incredibly handsome!

After reading about Bai Jingqing’s tragic background,

their hearts were softened,

so they all rushed over to join the excitement.
