The Dramatic Crown Princess Wants to Poison Me!

Chapter 643: Chapter 642: Expel

This is the study room of Prince Zhuang, the place where Prince Zhuang specifically handles matters.

All who enter here are trusted confidants of Prince Zhuang, so the steward did not think much until he spoke and realized that Princess Consort Zhuang was also present!

The steward’s words suddenly halted, one foot stepping over the threshold, neither entering nor retreating was appropriate.

Instead, Prince Zhuang calmly said, ”The Princess is not an outsider!”

Seeing this was an official matter, Princess Consort Zhuang quickly acted with understanding and said, ”Your Highness, I just came to see you; there is nothing urgent. Since Your Highness has important matters, I will take my leave first!”

Prince Zhuang gently replied, ”Very well, then rest well! Leave the household matters to the servants; don’t stress too much!”

Princess Consort Zhuang nodded, showing a gentle smile, enjoying the tenderness and affection from Prince Zhuang, feeling very content!

After Princess Consort Zhuang left, the tenderness on Prince Zhuang’s face instantly disappeared. He looked at the steward with slightly stern eyes and said blandly, ”Next time, ensure clarity before you report anything!”

The steward quickly responded, ”Yes!”

Thankfully, he did not let slip any information due to the Prince’s remark that ”The Princess is not an outsider.”

Moreover, he hadn’t mentioned who the mister was; apart from the Prince, Princess Consort Zhuang presumably wouldn’t know either!

Prince Zhuang said, ”Speak, what’s the matter?”

The steward, wiping his sweat, said, ”A letter was sent by someone from the mister’s side!” As he spoke, he took out a letter and presented it with both hands.

Prince Zhuang took the letter, saying blandly, ”You may leave and claim your penalty of ten lashes yourself!”

The steward immediately said, ”Yes!”

Thankfully, it was only ten lashes, which he could endure!

After the steward left, Prince Zhuang, who appeared calm and indifferent, a hint of excitement flickered in his eyes.

How long has it been? Almost three months, no, even longer; Mr. Gongyang is to pray for him. Not being able to meet Mr. Gongyang, nor having any news from him, made him feel uncertain; he worried about the changes in astrology as well as the alteration of his destiny.

Luckily, Mr. Gongyang hadn’t forgotten him. Though they couldn’t meet, he sent someone with a letter.

He closed the door to the study, latched it, and then walked to the third row of bookshelves. On that array of pedestals were not just books but ornaments as well.

He pressed hard on a specific book, and a rustling sound came from behind the bookshelf, revealing a small hidden room.

Prince Zhuang swiftly entered; inside that hidden room, he carefully opened the letter and began to read solemnly.

The contents of the letter were not many, just a few words:

”Stars and moon clear, just like before. If an anomaly cannot be eliminated, then it must be driven away!”

This letter was truly written in a secretive and cautious manner.

But this was exactly to Prince Zhuang’s liking.

After all, even if the contents of this letter fell into someone else’s hands, they wouldn’t know what it was about. Furthermore, there were no addresses or signatures.

However, Prince Zhuang could immediately understand what it was about.

Stars and moon clear, just like before. This means the astrology hasn’t changed; he is still the destined one.

If an anomaly cannot be eliminated, then drive it away. The anomaly, of course, refers to those who divide his destiny. Initially, he wanted to eliminate it, but it was fraught with difficulties, which Mr. Gongyang also knew, so he told him that if it couldn’t be eliminated, then drive it away.

Send the person back to Yunzhou, so they won’t affect his astrology anymore.

As Prince Zhuang looked at the words ”if it cannot be eliminated, then it must be driven away,” he felt a twinge in his teeth and his face.

The person was originally in Yunzhou, far from the Capital City. To conveniently eliminate him, he had invoked the identity of the Crown Prince, telling the Emperor that all Vassal Kings should send their hostages to the Capital City.

Now, the person has arrived in the Capital City, yet not only did he fail to eliminate him but also lost the Crown Prince position.

Now he has to send the person back to Yunzhou.

He isn’t the Crown Prince anymore, and his words don’t carry much weight with his father.

Moreover, he’s still in a period of restriction; even if not, he’s no longer a First Class Prince but a Second Class Commandery Prince, not entering the palace as easily as before.

If the Emperor doesn’t summon him, how can he enter the palace?

This is truly worrying.

However, Prince Zhuang merely frowned slightly, confident in finding a solution.

Even if he couldn’t think of one, his advisers within the mansion could help him come up with one. ℴ

He took out a flint, burned the letter, exited the hidden room, restored the bookshelf to its original state, exited the study, and at the study’s entrance, spoke to an invisible place, ”Invite Mr. Sheng to the study for consultation!”

There was a slight movement in the air, quickly drifting away.

With drinks and feasts satisfying everyone, throughout the process, Huangfu Yuxuan’s performance was affable, as endearing as toward one’s own children or nephews.

This left Hua Yuanming and Gu Hongxin feeling grateful as well as moved.

They had previously thought turning from principal culprits due for imminent beheadings to merely having committed errors, sentenced to only ten days’ imprisonment, was a result of Huangfu Yuxuan negotiating for them. Now seeing him as an Imperial Grandson still being so humble and engaging, disregarding their low official ranks, sharing drinks and laughter with them, they believed such a noble and virtuous person destined to become great in the future!

So during the banquet, they continually toasted Huangfu Yuxuan, who graciously accepted every toast.

Of course, the three brothers always believed a chance meeting deserves a thousand cups of wine, so they shared many toasts among themselves too.

By the time Yan Zui Xuan closed shop, everyone enjoyed themselves and went their separate ways.

Having drunk too much, Hua Yuanming and the others couldn’t return to their posts; Xia Wanqing said accommodations were prepared for them at Xia Mansion, and they could always stay there.

Huangfu Yuxuan smiled and said, ”Chief Xia, such close brotherly bonds, but having Uncle Hua and Uncle Gu stay at your place isn’t quite appropriate!”

Xia Wanqing insisted, ”We are brothers, what’s inappropriate? Living together only enhances closeness!”

Huangfu Yuxuan shook his head and said, ”No, no, that’s not what I mean. I mean, although the two uncles have faced a small setback this time, their righteous help and bravery have received much praise. Such talents, their superiors will certainly not overlook, and promotion is likely imminent. Thus, further squeezing with Uncle Xia in one mansion wouldn’t be fitting!”

Having drunk a lot, and with the influence of liquor, Hua Yuanming and the others, without overthinking, were somewhat pleased and said, ”Living with big brother makes us happy, but since big brother lives with his children, it would be inconvenient for us, so we shall head back to our posts instead!”

Huangfu Yuxuan said, ”No need to rush, gentlemen; I haven’t finished. Since both uncles are now Military Officers, with promising futures, of course it isn’t suitable to keep living at their posts. Naturally, they should acquire residences and bring their families to live together. So, I took the liberty of purchasing the property next to the one you stayed in last time, to be precisely gifted to both uncles!”

Gu Hongxin replied, ”How could we accept that? How could we let Young Master Xuan incur the expense? Absolutely not!”
