Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2649: Chapter 2658: Considering a Childhood Engagement for Bobby

She blended two stories into one, yet she could still present herself as a serious little adult, as if she remembered clearly, as if the story was originally concocted by her, with a sweet and innocent voice, a voice so sweet it could melt a person’s heart.

Old Master Lawrence’s sudden fainting this time was partly because of his age, and partly because the poisoning incident by Skye Lawrence had greatly weakened his body. Another reason, Enna Clark felt, was that he was living too tensely.

She couldn’t quite grasp how much effort it must take to manage a vast family like the Lawrence Corporation, but seeing Old Master Lawrence reviewing documents even while having an infusion, she could roughly tell how exhausted he was usually.

The fatigue of life combined with Skye Lawrence’s incident, it’s no wonder Old Master Lawrence’s health couldn’t improve.

So she wanted Gigi to spend more time with him. Children naturally possess a certain ability to help those around them relax.

And since Gigi naturally has a cheerful personality, she’s even more suited to accompany Old Master Lawrence.

”She’s becoming more talkative by the day. From the moment she opens her eyes, her little mouth hardly stops. Sometimes even her brother finds it hard to tolerate her chatter.” Enna’s smile blossomed as she spoke about Gigi, there was an unbelievable gentleness to her, ”Grandpa, if she bothers you with her chatter, you can tell her. She’s really well-behaved, if you let her know, she’ll quietly entertain herself.”

Old Master Lawrence imagined a chubby little girl like a New Year Picture Doll, recalling her calling him Grandpa in her sweet voice. He rarely allowed a smile to trace his face, ”Gigi is indeed very well-behaved and sensible.”

Then, as if something crossed his mind, he said to Enna, ”By the way, a good old friend of mine saw Tobias’s photos and mentioned he has a granddaughter about the same age as Tobias and asked if I would consider arranging a childhood betrothal for the two kids. What do you think?”

The old friend he mentioned had an unusual status; otherwise, he wouldn’t have bothered asking Enna Clark.

He valued Bobby highly, and since they’ve been friends for decades, knowing the old friend was trustworthy, along with the girl’s good upbringing and background, he took it seriously.

Nonetheless, he wanted to hear Enna’s opinion.

Enna hadn’t expected that they were discussing Gigi, and suddenly Old Master Lawrence brought up Bobby, mentioning betrothal.

Slightly flustered for a moment, she took a second to react.

No one could blame her.

She had lived over twenty years as an ordinary person, leading a simple life. Among regular folks, pre-arranging marriages isn’t common; typically when they meet the right person, they just talk about marriage directly. Hearing Old Master Lawrence mention betrothal, she then realized how high society families quite favored establishing connections with appropriate families early for their next generation. So when they grow up, they could directly enter into marriages.

But Bobby...

Enna recalled that apple-faced little girl, Rose Howell, who used to follow behind Bobby during kindergarten.

Wyndham Howell had returned to the Westbrook Family, turning back into Lyle Westbrook. What about Rose Howell?

She vaguely remembered Old Madam Habsden mentioning that Rose Howell was Lyle Westbrook’s sister’s daughter, a posthumous child, and she was raised by Lyle Westbrook since birth.

It seemed that since they left Capital City, they hadn’t seen Rose Howell.

It looked like Bobby quite liked that little girl, though he always called her a slug. But it was quite visible that he treated that little girl differently.
