Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2603: Chapter 2612: He’s Strictly Business

”Leigh!” Olivia Lewis was almost losing her mind with frustration, just as she was about to dial the number again, August Oliver had already walked up to her table, pulled out the chair opposite her, and sat down.

”One Blue Mountain, with two sugar cubes.” The clear, cold voice was like an orchid blooming in the depths of night, extremely cold and seductively alluring.

The waiter recognized him, clutching the order slip tightly, stammering as he looked at him, ”Okay, okay, okay, got it.”

Though he said okay, he didn’t leave, unable to contain his excitement, he gathered the courage to step forward, pulled out a small notebook from his bag, and handed it to the man with both hands, ”Mr. August Oliver, I’m a fan of yours. Can you sign for me?”

She nearly called him husband in her excitement, but luckily caught herself, looking at her idol just within reach with an expression full of anticipation and delight.

August Oliver didn’t like giving autographs or taking photos. He seemed uninterested in doing things stars typically enjoy, aside from playing music.

Olivia thought he would refuse, but unexpectedly, he indifferently took the small notebook and pen handed by the waiter and signed his name with swift strokes.

The waiter’s cheeks flushed with excitement, ”Th-thank you.”

She took back her notebook, and before leaving, without August Oliver saying a word, she promised him proactively, ”Don’t worry, I definitely won’t let others know you’re here!”

After she said this, she couldn’t resist sneaking a glance at Olivia Lewis, her eyes full of gossip, as she reluctantly walked away...

Olivia Lewis wished she could leave with her, anything was better than being here, uneasy and restless. Especially when the person sitting opposite her refused to speak, simply watching her. She tried to ignore him, but his presence was too strong. If she didn’t, it felt like there were pins poking her underneath, making it impossible for her to sit still for even a second.

August Oliver was the first to break the silence; he placed the document folder he had brought with him on the table, his thin lips barely moving, adopting a business-like demeanor, ”Leigh had an emergency, so he asked me to come and discuss the script with you. I’ve brought the script, you can take a look at it first.”

As he spoke, he took out a stack of scripts from the folder and pushed them in front of Olivia Lewis.

His unfamiliar, business-like attitude made Olivia Lewis feel a bit relieved, as she picked up the script in front of her and said, ”Just a moment, let me take a look first.”

”Okay.”

Olivia Lewis lowered her head to read the script, not noticing the deep gaze with which August Oliver observed her once she did.

Reading scripts is an essential skill for an actor, and Olivia Lewis flipped through it quickly. She had only read a few pages, but was already drawn in by the story.

Strictly speaking, this script counts as an art film, aimed at winning awards. It mainly tells the story of a female lead who grew up in the city with a privileged life, and after getting accepted into university, she was abducted by a woman in the same vehicle to the deep mountains at the start of her journey to the school. It narrates the story of the female lead experiencing escape, getting caught and returning, escaping again, miscarriage, breakdown, and finally choosing to compromise, becoming a teacher in the mountain village.

The mountain people in the story are ignorant, cruel, lawless, and trample on humanity. While the film vividly depicts the ugliness of human nature, it also focuses on their helplessness, hardships, and compulsion.

After experiencing massive highs and lows in her life, the female lead chooses to stay in the mountains as a teacher, a decision somewhat unexpected to her.

But upon further contemplation, one can roughly understand the thoughts of the female lead.
