Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2635: Chapter 2644: So It Was First Love

Adam Sinclair watched her back as she walked away, and without Olivia Lewis asking him, he took the initiative to say, ”I dated her for a while. She was my first love.”

”Huh?” Olivia Lewis turned her head, puzzled.

Why was he telling her this out of the blue? She hadn’t even asked. Could it be that he was afraid she’d misunderstand and was willingly confessing his romantic history?

It felt unnecessary. Who doesn’t have a past?

Especially with a famous playboy like Young Master Sinclair, whose romantic history could probably keep her entertained for three days and nights. She was completely uninterested.

”She was somewhat special,” Adam Sinclair seemed to hear her thoughts. He pushed the shopping cart while holding Olivia Lewis’s hand, continuing to pick out the salmon he had just chosen, ”Our families were neighbors and our parents were good friends. So, since we were kids, I often played with her. She was three years older than me. Since childhood, she was the type of ’other people’s child’ that parents always praised. She was cute, well-behaved, understanding, had good grades, and played the piano very well. Almost all the boys in the neighborhood liked her. I liked her too, but I didn’t dare to say it, always silently guarding her like a neighborly younger brother.”

Wow, who would have thought that a seasoned player in love had once been such a wholesome youth.

Olivia Lewis became interested, ”And then what happened?”

”Then, once she had a heartbreak, I helped her teach that jerk a lesson. She suddenly told me she wanted to try being with me.”

”A jackpot from the skies, huh? Boy, you must’ve been over the moon then,” Olivia Lewis nudged him playfully with a grin.

Adam Sinclair nearly choked on his own breath at her reaction, his nostalgic hint of melancholy instantly dissipated, ”Wouldn’t you be happy if the person you liked accepted you?”

”Happy? I’d be over the moon if Ronaldo confessed to me in a heartbeat.”

Adam Sinclair clenched his jaw, ”In your dreams!”

Olivia Lewis’s wrist hurt from his grip, and she admitted with resignation, ”All right, continue, continue, as if I didn’t say anything.”

Adam Sinclair eased his grip a bit to avoid hurting her and said nonchalantly, ”Not much happened afterward, just less than half a month later, she dumped me and got back with that guy. Then she went abroad.”

His tone was light, but Olivia Lewis heard a wealth of stories beneath his words. She imagined the infatuated youth’s transition from surprise to disappointment and guessed how much it must have affected him, leading to his indifferent attitude towards relationships afterward.

He wasn’t telling her this story as mere gossip; after briefly recounting his past with Renee Anderson, he tightened his grip on Olivia Lewis’s wrist, narrowed his eyes, and, looking into her eyes, said with serious intent, ”I used to really like her, and she indeed was my first love. But now, the one I like is you; these two kinds of affection are different, don’t misunderstand.”

His affection for the older and excellent neighbor, Renee, was a teenager’s innocent first crush.

His affection for Olivia Lewis now, after the vicissitudes of life, was an understanding of what he truly wanted.

Both were precious.

But if you really had to compare, she was, of course, the most precious!

Olivia Lewis understood his meaning, her beautiful eyes blinking, ”Are you confessing to me?”

”...” Is that all she’s focused on?

Olivia Lewis grabbed his hand before he could speak, shifting the topic, ”I get it, I get it, I’m starving, hurry up and buy whatever you need to buy, I want to eat my fruit salad when we get back.”
