Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 2640: Chapter 2649: Feeling Drained

If he hadn’t overheard from a girl who accidentally let it slip about her candy hoarding yesterday, he would probably still be kept in the dark by her.

The little dummy usually seems dopey and oblivious, but at critical moments she’s quite clever. She even knows how to play dumb to outsmart others, teaching those girls to hide things from him.

And she’s not greedy, just takes a little at a time. Every day she hides two or three small candies in her pocket, which indeed makes it hard for him to notice.

He wondered why she had been so enthusiastic about coming to school to pick him up recently, and it turned out she was trying to get candy from elsewhere all along.

The little girl was so scared by her brother’s teasing that she didn’t dare lie anymore, twisting her fingers together and lowering her head, looking like a guilty thief.

”I’m giving you a chance to confess and be leniently punished. Be honest, and maybe I’ll go easy on you. Now tell me, where did you hide the candy?” Bobby intended just to scare her; seeing she was already frightened, he pursed his lips, ready to be ruthlessly stern with her.

Gigi was already intimidated, unsure how much Brubby actually knew. She counted on her fingers, raised her head with immense inner turmoil, and weakly said, ”I...”

”Think it over carefully before you answer; you only get one chance. If you lie, I’ll have to punish you twice as much.” Bobby cunningly intercepted her confession, attempting once more to coax the truth.

The little girl’s sweet face completely collapsed as she miserably confessed, ”Gigi hid it in the toy.”

”Which toy?”

”In the toy car’s compartment.”

”And where else?”

The little girl pouted, giving him a pitiful glance. Seeing his unyielding expression, she continued to confess several more places.

Bobby estimated the amount of candy she might have received during this period and, after checking the places she mentioned, concluded she had almost told him everything, then squinted his eyes, ”There’s one more place. Will you say it or should I?”

”Let’s be clear, if I have to say it, you’ll be properly punished. If you say it, I might consider lessening your punishment for hiding candy from me this time. Think it over...”

He actually didn’t know anything, just relied on understanding Gigi’s personality, guessing there might be one more place she hadn’t mentioned.

Even though she always seems timid, looking pitiful, whenever made to be honest, she keeps a little back.

She’s the classic smart-cookie-playing-dumb type.

Sure enough, after he finished talking, the little girl quickly stole a glance at him, as if judging whether he really knew.

Seeing her reaction, Bobby knew he’d correctly bluffed again; she indeed had the guts to keep one place secret. He deliberately put on a stern face, squinting with a mysterious air, ”Have you thought it through? Will you confess or should I find it? I’m giving you three seconds.”

”Brubby, three seconds is too fast.”

”3.”

The little girl’s big eyes were filled with anxiety; she stomped her feet, humming and spinning in circles, extremely flustered.

”2.”

A mental battle raged inside her; sweat appeared on her forehead, as she clutched Bobby’s sleeve, pleading cutely, ”Brubby~ Gigi loves Brubby the most, my Brubby is the best.”

”Pleading doesn’t work with me. This is your last chance, think it through.” Bobby calmly allowed her to tug, completely unmoved.

Gigi didn’t wait for him to count to one; she closed her big eyes and confessed, ”I hid it with Brother Hayes.”

Bobby raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised by this answer.

Gigi had confessed her last little stash, feeling like a wilting eggplant, all shriveled.
