Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1446: Chapter 1446: All the evidence is laid out before us, I believe her Chapter 1446: Chapter 1446: All the evidence is laid out before us, I believe her Enna Clark bit her lower lip hard, striving to calm herself down, and met Skye Lawrence’s doubtful gaze, saying, “I really don’t know what happened. When I saw Grandpa this morning, he was in good health…”

“That’s because he had just eaten the Tomato and Egg Noodles you made, and it hadn’t taken effect yet!” Skye Lawrence interrupted her forcefully.

Enna Clark’s lips nearly bled as she faced Skye Lawrence’s merciless accusation without being crushed, insisting, “I didn’t tamper with the Tomato and Egg Noodles. When I was cooking them, the hotel’s chefs were all there. The tomatoes and eggs were purchased by the hotel; I couldn’t possibly have poisoned them. Surely I couldn’t have served the noodles in the Presidential Suite and then poisoned them in front of Grandpa, right?”

“Ha, Ms. Clark, are you ignorant or just pretending not to know? The Old Master has a habit of not allowing surveillance cameras in the hallway on his floor when staying at a hotel. So, you had plenty of opportunities to poison him, no need to enter the room at all!”

Enna Clark had no idea about this, and she was momentarily stunned.

Nicholas Lawrence entered at this point, his rugged face still showing fatigue, indicating that he had rushed over as soon as he received the news. Rubbing his temples, he first greeted Baron Lawrence with a nod, “Baron.”

Then he gave Enna Clark a harsh look with the Lawrence family’s characteristic penetrating eyes, his cheek muscles twitching slightly as he restrainedly began, “Ms. Clark, Skye didn’t make it clear to you. Let me tell you.”

“Before I arrived at the hospital, I had already had someone send me the hotel’s surveillance footage. The footage shows that you entered the hotel at 9:30 AM and left at 10:30 AM. In the meantime, you made a portion of Tomato and Egg Noodles for the Old Master. At 11:00 AM, the front desk Customer Service received an internal call made by the Housekeeper, and because no one was speaking on the other end for a long time, they forcefully entered the Presidential Suite out of concern, only to discover the poisoned Old Master and Housekeeper and sent both to the hospital.”

Nicholas Lawrence, with his rough appearance and direct manner, spoke plainly using the surveillance as evidence.

“During this time, the hotel’s surveillance only captured you entering the floor of the Presidential Suite. The Tomato and Egg Noodles you made have been tested, and indeed they contained poison. I don’t know why you did this, and I don’t want to hear your reasons until the Old Master is out of danger. I have discussed it with others and now, unfortunately, you need to spend some time at the police station!” He used the word “unfortunately,” but his tone was not polite.

From his tone and demeanor, anyone could feel his anger and dissatisfaction.

“I will also hand over all the evidence to the police. If Ms. Clark feels wronged, you can explain to the police what those evidences are all about.”

After he finished speaking, he paused and turned to Baron Lawrence.

“I guess you didn’t know she went to find the Old Master at the hotel, this matter we…”

Nicholas Lawrence hadn’t finished speaking when the man who had remained silent tightened his lips and interrupted, “I know!”

“What?” Nicholas Lawrence was taken aback, asking instinctively.

The proud man stood firm, his jawline strong and his features sculpted like a statue, as he firmly grasped Enna Clark’s wrist, as if he had not seen all the doubting and accusing eyes around him, his gaze unyieldingly firm, “I believe her!”
