Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1424: Chapter 1424: Mustard on the Face Chapter 1424: Chapter 1424: Mustard on the Face Baron Lawrence used to go sea fishing frequently with Adam Sinclair and others; he was well aware of the taste of freshly caught salmon that had been immediately processed.

He hadn’t been particularly keen on eating it, but upon gazing into those sparkling eyes, for some reason, he suddenly wanted to try it.

He sat down and picked up a piece, dipped it in a bit of balsamic vinegar on the side. Sure enough, it tasted different from what he had imagined. It was indeed much tastier than the usual seafood he had, just like the woman had said.

“See, it’s delicious, isn’t it? I didn’t lie to you,” Enna Clark said with a beaming smile.

It was as if she had made the salmon sashimi herself.

In an unprecedented move, Baron Lawrence did not deny it, “It’s not bad.”

Enna had long been accustomed to his way of saying the opposite of what he meant and started eating herself.

She wasn’t too fond of seafood, but this time was different.

This time the fish was caught by her, and the sashimi was prepared by Baron Lawrence himself. It tasted so sweet and fragrant that she couldn’t help eating more slices than she intended.

She was enjoying her meal immensely.

Suddenly, the man sitting opposite her, who had mostly been watching her eat, spoke up, “Ms. Clark.”

She stopped, perplexed, and looked up, “What?”

The man across from her stood up and leaned over condescendingly towards her, stretching out his hand; his fingertip brushed the corner of her mouth, “Here, you’ve got something.”

A bit of mustard had accidentally adhered to the corner of Enna’s mouth.

His looming manner made Enna feel the heat of his breath on her face.

She instinctively dodged a little, and her gaze began to drift. She quickly said, “I’ll wipe it off.”

As she spoke, she reached for a napkin on the side. Just as she lifted her arm, it was grabbed by someone else. The next second, she heard a deep voice from above, “No need, I’ll help you!”

Help?

How?

Suddenly, her chin was lifted, and the towering man bent down, his body covering hers, sealing her lips with his.

After an aggressive and passionate kiss, he slowly drew back, nipped at the corner of her mouth, and then deliberately ate the bit of mustard.

The taste of mustard is quite pungent.

Baron Lawrence’s eyebrows knitted together, his hawk-like eyes scanned the young woman’s alabaster cheeks before he lowered his head again, capturing her red lips once more in a conquest.

“Mmm…” Caught off guard by the flavor of the mustard, Enna felt tears coming to her eyes.

But her chin was held firmly; there was no way to dodge, and she could only go along with the kiss amid the taste of the mustard.

…

After returning from the yachting trip, Baron Lawrence acted as if he had forgotten the mustard kiss. As soon as he stepped ashore, he busied himself with a video meeting.

Although Baron Lawrence was injured, there were too many matters to attend to at Lawrence Corporation, not to mention at Headquarters. There were numerous issues across the Branch Offices that required his approval before they could proceed. So even though he was injured, he still couldn’t truly rest.

He was busy, and Enna Clark never disturbed him.

She had just returned to the bedroom and turned on the faucet, wanting to splash her face with cold water, when suddenly, her phone in her bag rang.

Who could be calling her?

Enna turned off the tap, picked up the phone, and glanced at the Caller ID, only to discover it was the Housekeeper’s number.

She was surprised for a moment, then put the phone to her ear, “Hello?”

Indeed, the affectionate voice of the Housekeeper came through the line, “Hello, Miss Clark, it’s me. I apologize for calling at such a late hour.”
