Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1435: Chapter 1435: The Good Deeds Miranda Lewis Did Behind the Scenes! Chapter 1435: Chapter 1435: The Good Deeds Miranda Lewis Did Behind the Scenes! He was Miranda Lewis’s biggest supporter at Elysion, and Miranda dared not offend him.

Seeing his displeasure, she immediately plastered on a compensating smile and edged closer, whispering, “Director Liu, don’t be angry, I’m telling the truth, I’m telling the truth.”

“Actually, this is what happened. The day before yesterday, I took on a commercial—you know, the one you helped me land. The shoot was scheduled at a resort, and when I went there, I happened to run into someone.”

Director Liu waited for her to continue, not adding a word. His expression made it hard for Miranda to gauge how much he knew or what version he had heard.

She could only clench her teeth and continue, “It was Elysion’s Number One Female Star, Olivia Lewis.”

Enna Clark was originally uninterested in their conversation, but when she heard Miranda mention Olivia’s name, she couldn’t help but perk up her ears.

“Wasn’t there news saying she was filming an international blockbuster in Country W, working away in secret? But then I saw her at the resort, with an injury on her left cheek, so I secretly took a photo and sent it to a reporter I often work with. I planned to have the reporter stake out the place, to find out what the big secret was. If there was any scandal, it would be perfect to have one less competitor in the future.”

The entertainment industry is just like that—kill or be killed.

Every year, the media spotlights only four or five young actresses, and everyone wants to squeeze into those scarce spots. What can they do? They have to find a way to pull people down from above so that they have a chance to rise.

Some, even if they have no chance to rise, still want to drag others down. That way, they remove an invisible competitor and pave the way for their future.

Miranda belonged to the latter.

She was still far behind Olivia Lewis; even if Olivia fell, it would not be her turn to take Olivia’s place.

But Miranda still wanted to see Olivia fall.

Firstly, Olivia was an obstacle on her future path.

Secondly, Olivia and Enna were friends.

These points guaranteed her dislike for Olivia.

Since she disliked her and had the chance to bring her down, why not do it?

That was the mindset with which she contacted the paparazzi.

“The way I see it is not wrong. I’m doing it for myself, for the company’s sake. But then, the reporter went and told Sister Andie, and after finding out, Sister Andie had the photo deleted. She didn’t even say hello to me the next day, and applied to the Directors not to take me with them. I feel so wronged.”

In reality, when Andie applied to the higher-ups not to bring her, she said it was because of her limited energy and she didn’t want to delay Miranda’s development.

As long as Miranda kept silent, no one would know about the underhanded things she had been doing.

But Miranda, thinking that Andie had backstabbed her, confessed everything outright.

The man she was clinging to suddenly shook off her hand with a look of rage on his ugly face, and furiously said, “You actually contacted the paparazzi behind our backs! What’s wrong with your brain, all grown on your chest, is it?”

As a man who had always been accommodating and sweet talking in private, his public outburst was something Miranda had difficulty accepting.

With a face full of grievance, she defended herself, “I don’t think I did anything wrong. If Olivia Lewis goes down, it would naturally benefit our company as well. Sure, I was selfish, but who isn’t like that in this circle? If I don’t do this, others will do it to me.”

“But you picked the wrong person!” Director Liu enunciated sharply, cutting off her pitiful defense!
