Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1423: Chapter 1423: Tastier Than She Imagined Chapter 1423: Chapter 1423: Tastier Than She Imagined He actually made this?

Compared to the previously disastrous Red Wine Chicken, this Salmon Sashimi is just worlds better. It’s like night and day, as if it wasn’t even made by the same person.

“Hold on, it will be ready to eat in a moment.” The man who had just washed his hands walked over to the fridge, took out a lemon, cut three slices from it, and squeezed the juice from the rest of the lemon over the salmon. The remaining three lemon slices were then placed stylishly on the ice.

“It’s ready.” He picked up the plate and walked toward Enna Clark.

Enna had watched him prepare the salmon intently. Her appetite had been building while watching, and as the finished dish was placed in front of her, her cravings only grew stronger.

The orange salmon lay glistening and delicate on a plate shaped like a Dragon Boat, with a thick layer of ice underneath, separated by plastic wrap. The salmon was set on top of the plastic wrap, maximizing protection from the ice’s moisture while benefiting from the ice’s chill for freshness.

There was a delicately carved radish garnish next to the plate, beautifully wrought as if it were real. And beside the garnish lay the three lemon slices Baron Lawrence had cut.

The bright yellow and orange hues were strikingly attractive.

A pair of chopsticks was handed to her, disrupting her gaze.

Taking the chopsticks with anticipation, Enna said, “Baron Lawrence, I’m going to start eating.”

“Go ahead.” He said nonchalantly, though his eagle eyes closely watched the young woman’s every expression.

Enna picked up a thin slice of salmon with her chopsticks. It must be said, Baron Lawrence’s knife skills were impressive. It’s difficult to cut such delicate salmon into thin slices without them falling apart, but Baron Lawrence’s slices were evenly thick, perfectly intact, and without any variance in thickness.

Enna’s eyes curled up as she took a bite without dipping into the mustard.

As soon as it touched her tongue, her eyes involuntarily widened in surprise.

She wasn’t a stranger to salmon; at the Habsden Family, she often ate seafood prepared by the chef.

But none was as delicious as the Salmon Sashimi she was eating now.

The salmon has an inherent sweet aftertaste, and since it’s a seawater fish, the meat naturally contains salt. The sweet salmon paired with the slight tartness of lemon created a delectable balance of sour and sweet flavors in her mouth.

No wonder Baron Lawrence and the others liked sea fishing so much.

Indeed, seafood cooked immediately after being caught while sea fishing is just much tastier than what you find in restaurants.

Baron Lawrence had been waiting for her to comment on the taste. After a long wait, the young woman kept her eyes narrowed, showing no sign of giving a compliment.

He furrowed his brows and couldn’t help asking, “How’s the flavor?”

Only then did Enna realize she had been so engrossed in eating that she forgot about him. She looked up and gave a positive response, “It’s delicious!”

The man who had seemed indifferent relaxed the subtle tension in his jaw, a hint of a glow appearing on his handsome face, although he still pretended to be nonchalant and said dismissively, “Of course it is. Who do you think made it?”

His certainty was as if the one who had just asked whether it tasted good wasn’t him.

Enna couldn’t help but laugh quietly.

Nevertheless, she passed him his chopsticks, her bright eyes curving into an invitation, “Baron Lawrence, it really is delicious; you should try it too.”
