Chapter 22: Chapter - 22: Will Arrow

Kai’s POV:-

Elena and I decided to go on an excursion around the town today, so I visited the Mizo family’s villa along with my mother in the morning.

Mother kept telling me that I should wear something fancy since I am going on a date.

But honestly it’s not a date.

Elena just wanted to look around the capital, and she also asked Ian and Lily to tag along as well but they declined the offer.

Now I feel like they intentionally avoid coming.

Maybe they assume that it will be awkward to accompany us since Elena and I have just recently got engaged.

Of course we are not going alone, there is Elena’s maid Maya, and also Dalas who is acting as a coachman.

Really Dalas, what you take me for?

I know fully well that the reason you wanted to accompany me so much is Maya.

Normally he is a very straightforward and free spirited guy but whenever there is Maya around, he starts acting like a gentleman.

Of course he is not a bad guy, but it makes me worry as he was supposed to be acting as my bodyguard.

It’s not like I really need one, but ever since that incident with that Clive, my parents started to take cautions regarding my safety.

By the way I honestly told Elena about Dalas’s intentions.

[Author: MC is treating Dalas like he is some sort of a criminal]

After she assured me that they have no problem regarding it, I tried to change the topic.

”Didn’t we agree that you will drop ’Lord’ in private? Call me Kai only”

Honestly I brought up the topic without much thought.

But Elena gave a really long pause before answering it.

”Umm...Kai...”

She said something, probably my name, but I couldn’t hear it clearly.

”Huh? Sorry I couldn’t hear it”

I told her about it but she remained silent.

”Let’s forget about that for now”

Is she perhaps feeling embarrassed?

I have known her for several years now, but it’s rare to see her embarrassed about something so trivial.

...

Elena, Maya and I are currently at the local marketplace of the capital.

We are looking around the local shops and stalls on foot while Dalas is looking after the carriage.

Poor Dalas, he didn’t get the chance to hangout along with miss Maya.

”Uh a magic tool shop”

Elena said while pointing towards a shop that seems like an antique store.

It has a board ’Noah’s Magic Tool Shop’ written on it.

”Shall we check the magic tools in the capital?”

”Not a bad idea”

I replied to Elena’s question as we headed to the shop. It is a really well maintained and high class shop, though there were not many customers at the time.

We looked around the shop and I can see several decent magic tools here but many of them are not rare or eye catching.

I just glanced around the shop as my eyes fell on a weird magic tool that looks like an arrow but much shorter in length.

It was sealed inside a transparent box so it should be a decent magic tool but I can’t guess its usage.

”Can I see this?”

I asked the female shop lady who just got free after handling the previous customer.

She seems to be around 20 years old.

Wearing tomboyish clothes but has a lady-like look and hair style.

Honestly she seems to be the type I used to be interested in but don’t know why, I no longer feel any inclination towards them.

Maybe I don’t have much ’love hormones’?

Come to think of it, the original Kai in the game also didn’t have any girl, maybe it’s the problem with this body?

*gulp*

I am suddenly feeling worried about my health.

[Author:- acting like he is way past his youth.]

”Of course sir”

The shop lady said as she opened the transparent box and passed me the magic tool along with the manual.

”It’s called ’Will Arrow’, a range weapon that you can control at your will”

The lady gave me a brief description. The tool is made of a rare metal and has a light blue shade. It has a manual so I decided to read it.

Apparently it’s a wind attribute magic tool which has a similar feature to ’Yaka Arrow’ from Marvel.

But you can control it by will instead of whistling which is an advantage, but unlike ’Yaks Arrow’ this one has its limitations.

Although this arrow has amazing piercing power, it is mostly useful for surprise attacks.

”Wow what an amazing tool, it will be good for you.”

Elena said as she looks at the weapon.

I was actually thinking of gifting it to her but I had to change my mind after reading the manual. She can’t use it yet and it will become useless to her when she will be able to.

”Your choice is really great, this is an amazing weapon that my father found when he used to be an ’A’ class adventurer”

The lady emphasizes its value like a true businesswoman but I am not a fool either.

”I admit that it’s an interesting tool but isn’t this price too high for a toy?”

I said as I pointed to the price tag.

”Toy? Please sir, this is an important artifact that my father invested a lot of effort to find”

The lady replied in a business tone.

Is she acting or is she really oblivious?

”Hehehe... to think such a young man would notice this detail”

All of us looked at the old man who just walked out from the back of the store.

”Father? Today is your day off so you should be resting”

The store lady blurted out.

So he is that ’A’ class adventurer she mentioned. He looks like an official from his looks and clothes.

Well most of the high class adventures become officials after reaching the age where they have to retire from adventure’s work.

”Do you think I am some sickly old man? I am still much healthier than you”

The man said to the girl as he approached us.

”You look like a noble. I apologize for my daughter’s rudeness, she is still not much experienced in this.”

”What are you saying father? He just called this artifact a toy”

”He is not completely wrong. This is indeed an artifact for common people but for grand mages who can fully use it, it’s nothing more than a toy”
