Chapter 20: Chapter - 20: A Couple

The ’Storm Spear’ pierced through the Solar Bash and reached Ray in no time, there was nothing he could do except backing off.

But there was nothing to worry about as a really firm magic barrier appeared, and also sir Ben pulled Ray away.

”Thud!”

The spear and the barrier collide with a loud sound as cracks appear on the barrier.

It actually managed to block it.

What a strong barrier, even though it was cast in a hurry.

It could also be because the attack was already weakened after piercing Ray’s Solar Bash.

”What kind of magic was that!”

Someone among the students said in astonishment.

Of course it was my intention to let them see my strength.

Actually I want to use it to deter all the arrogant troublesome kids while also hiding my real combat abilities behind strong attack magic.

”Let’s stop here, the result is evident”

Sir Ben said as he signaled Ray and me to get out of the field.

”What was that bro, I never saw that spell before”

Ian asked me as soon as I got back to the group. I can also see other students trying to hear us.

”That was ’Storm Spear’, it is a fusion spell of water and wind attributes”

Of course I omitted an important part, it was my self created move so there is no record of it in your standard magic book.

Well I already registered it in our family’s record by my father’s help.

He said that once I am outside, people may copy my spells so I should register myself as the creator beforehand.

It will be good for our family’s reputation.

After me, there was only one last pair that remained so we wrapped up with the test pretty soon.

The results will be declared next week, based on the combined score of written and practical tests.

Then the classes will be allocated.

So I am free this whole week.

”Now all of you can leave”

Sir Ben gave us permission to leave so I left the testing area along with Elena, Ian and also Lily who has no other acquaintances here.

”Lord Kai, wait!”

I heard someone calling me from behind and when I turned back to see, I saw Ray walking towards us.

But he does not look angry or sad about his defeat, instead he has a serious look.

”Sorry to stop you Lord Kai”

”No worries Lord Ray, I guess you want to talk about something”

”Nothing much, I just thought of making acquaintances with you”

”It is my pleasure, by the way this is my fiancee Elena, my cousin Ian and Elena’s friend Lady Lily”

I introduced them to Ray.

Taking note of Ian’s advice, I introduced Elena as my fiancee since she already did it once when introducing me to her friend.

”We already know each other. It has been a while Ray.”

”Good to see you again Ian. Also it is a pleasure to meet you, Lady Elena and Lady Lily”

After all of us greeted each other we decided to talk while walking out so as not to hinder other students.

Apparently, Ray is not as enthusiastic as described in the game.

He is just what you may call an extrovert who easily makes friends.

”Ray!”

Just as we reached the exit of the campus, a girl with light blonde hair and greyish eyes walked towards us.

Actually she is walking unnaturally fast.

”Luna!”

Ray said as he walked towards the girl, they held each other’s hand but it seemed like they wanted to hug.

Here she comes!

She is Luna Layton, daughter of Count Layton and also Ray’s fiancee.

”Why are you here?”

Ray asked while holding her hands.

”I wanted to greet you after your test, just like you did after mine”

Luna replied in a really sweet voice. And now all the students are looking this way.

Ray and Luna are oblivious to those gazes, as they keep talking in a lovey dovey manner.

Please go and flirt somewhere else!

Those were the feelings of everyone here, including me.

But it’s not like they can hear us.

”Oh I forgot!”

Ray turned around and walked towards us with Luna, they are still holding hands.

”Sorry about that. By the way, this is my fiancee Luna”

”And Luna, this is Lord Kai from the Shen family, his fiancee Lady Elena from the Mizo family, her friend Lady Lily from the Besant family, and well you already know Ian”

Now I feel like every student in the capital knows Ian.

”Nice to meet you Lady Luna”

We all greeted Luna just normally and she returned the greetings to Ian and me as normally, but when it came to Elena and Lily....

”Hello Lady Elena! I have heard about you but didn’t know you were also engaged! I think we will become really good friends!”

Her enthusiastic mode is fully on!

I can already see Elena being taken aback by Luna’s enthusiasm.

”And it’s also great to meet you Lady Lily, you are from the famous alchemists family right? I am really interested in alchemy!”

Someone stop her please, all the students are looking towards us.

”Hold it Luna, they must be tired after the test. You can chat with them some other time, we are all probably going to be in the same class”

Ray said to Luna, to calm her enthusiasm.

Maybe he is really tired after the loss in our battle. But it is a good thing for us at least.

After that we bid goodbye to Ray and Luna, then we also were about to leave when I felt tugged on my left sleeve.

”Elena?”

I asked Elena who is holding the edge of my sleeve with her right hand, there seems to be something that she wanted to say.

”You know there is nothing to do this week so I was wondering.....I mean if you are free then if we..can go to see around the city?”

Elena said the last part in a very low voice that I wouldn’t have been able to hear if I was not near her.

She seems really embarrassed while saying that.

C-could it be that she wants to go on a date with me!

No dude what am I thinking? There is no way she would!

”I.... I mean all of us! Yes! I mean if all four of us can go to see around the capital”

Her voice suddenly went from low to high, as she said that.

I guessed so.

She just wants to roam around the capital, it can’t be helped since we had no time to do so before.

We got engaged immediately after coming to the capital and then had to focus on preparing for the exam.

”I am fine with it. What about you, Ian, Lady Lily?”

”I think I will decline. I am really tired and just want to relax”

”I also have something important to do. Why not just both of you go? We have already seen most of the city anyway”

Ian and Lily replied in a not so convincing tune. I mean we only need one day from the week.

Is there something else?
