Chapter 10: Chapter - 10: The Plot

Hina Blessen, the heroine of the game ’Holy Maiden’. With light brown hair and honey colored eyes she is an absolute beauty.

She is the eldest daughter of the viscount of Mani, a small and remote territory further south of our territory in the east.

Of course that’s what the general public knows, but in truth she was an illegitimate child of the viscount and his concubine who was originally a maid in their household.

After several years of not being able to have an heir both viscount and his first wife distracted their minds in their fancies.

The wife started gambling while the viscount had an affair with the maid.

The maid got pregnant and viscount’s affair was found out by his wife.

It resulted in a rift in their already damaged marriage.

At that time Viscount’s father who was almost in his death bed urged the viscount to marry the maid who gave birth to their heir.

The viscount’s first wife is already dead after indulging herself in drugs for years, because of which Hina and her mother’s status has elevated in her family.

”She is pretty but it’s not good to stare at her Lord Kai”

I heard Elena’s somewhat displeased voice.

”I was not staring, I was just wondering why everyone is so flabbergasted”

I gave the most fitting reply I could think of.

”Weren’t you the same as them? ”

Elena replied with a doubtful expression.

”Of course not, why would I be when I know so many pretty ladies, like My mother, Marchioness Adelia and also you lady Elena”

Just praise the girls and they will not make an objection, I know I sound sexist but it is a tested method.

And as I expected Lady Elena didn’t reply due to embarrassment.

”We should greet her, shouldn’t we?”

Ian asked me with a nervous expression.

I didn’t expect this from you Ian but it can’t be helped I guess, it’s normal for a boy to get attracted to a beautiful girl.

”Go if you want, I am not interested”

I sincerely replied.

I am not a lolicon, if it has been a girl in her late teens or early twenties then maybe I had also got attracted.

While thinking about all that stuff I again heard Elena’s voice from my side.

”Lo..Lord Kai, just now you mentioned my mother’s name”

Huh?

”You know she is a married woman who dearly loves my father! So you should not think about her!”

What the heck!

What is wrong with this girl!

”You are completely mistaking it! I just meant in general sense! Didn’t I include my mother’s name and also your name?”

I don’t know why but I replied in really fast paced.

”A..and also, I would never look at married women in that way! I know what is right and what is wrong!”

”Hm..hehehe”

Suddenly I noticed Elena covering her mouth with both hands and trying to hold back laughing.

Really this girl is just!

”You should not tease others, Lady Elena. Especially a guy older than you”

I replied with an annoyed tone.

”I would not just tease anyone, it was just a payback. And you are only a few months older, Lord Kai”

I didn’t expect such wickedness from a kid, but maybe that’s why she is the villainess?

The music changed.

Before it was just light music for the sake of it but now it’s a fascinating music that attracts attention.

This signals the arrival of the stars of the party, at least for themselves.

These royalties are too much.

The other door that’s exclusive for only the palace’s residents opened.

And the first one to walk out is the first prince Rian Ripon along with his fiancee Ariana Elliott.

Ariana is the eldest daughter of the Duke of Ellor in the Southwest region of the kingdom.

Both of them should be around 4 years older than us.

After them, other younger princes and princesses followed behind.

Then finally the birthday boy arrived with his parents, I mean the second prince Lucian Ripon with his majesty Edward Ripon and her majesty Rihanna Ripon.

Lucian Ripon, the main capture target of the game. With blonde hair and amber eyes, a handsome, kindhearted gentleman type character.

But I think he has one fatal weakness, he is too soft and simple minded to become a ruler and that’s why he is pretty much out of the race for the throne.

First the King and the queen were greeted by high ranking officials and Nobles, which also includes my mother who represents the Shen family.

After that we the heir of noble families congratulated the prince Lucian. It was just a short interaction individually since there are so many people.

I can already see prince Lucian’s flustered expression on being greeted by the pretty heroine.

Now soon the event will start.

I again retreated to a side and waited for everything to proceed by itself.

And as expected the event started.

The heroine tripped and prince Lucian saved her from falling, and being urged by the surrounding nobles the prince asked the heroine for a dance.

At this moment prince Lucian still doesn’t know the heroine’s name.

When she greeted Lucian there were too many others who were greeting him and also he was too flustered after seeing her and didn’t heard the name.

I mean how stupid can you be? Well he is just a kid after all.

[Author: from here I am telling the game scenario so skip it if you don’t want to know how the villainess got engaged with prince Lucian in the game]

In the game, before their dance could end they stumbled with the villainess who was holding a glass of juice.

Actually it was because prince Lucian was too mesmerized by the heroine and didn’t take note of the surroundings.

While the heroine who has just started learning dance is not accustomed to dancing among the people.

And the villainess Elena was no good in this regard either since this was her first time attending the royal party as well.

On being stumbled, the juice slips out of the villainess’s hand and spoils the dress of the heroine because of which the heroine had to leave to clean her dress without telling the prince her name.

That marks the end of the heroine’s interaction with the first capture target in this event.

And left behind in an awkward situation and surrounded by glances of the people, prince Lucian had no choice but to ask the villainess for the dance.

Coincidentally this is also the time when the royal family and prestigious nobles come to become the audience.

Prince Lucian who keeps thinking about the heroine with a happy smile on his face caused the misunderstanding for the king and the queen.

After the party, the queen tries to inquire about the reason for Lucian’s smile and sums up it was because of the girl he danced with in the party.

Of course prince Lucian meant the heroine Hina whose name he didn’t know nor the name of the villainess.

The queen who misunderstood everything arranged the engagement of prince Lucian with the villainess.

And some years later, prince Lucian meets his first love, the heroine Hina again in the royal academy.

Really these royalties and their bullshits.

[Author: game scenario ends, so let’s focus on the main story]

So the biggest question here is...why is the villainess Elena is still by my side?

”I am feeling thirsty, I will get something to drink”

Elena says and leaves to get a drink.

So is it the time now?

If the scenario proceeds just like the game then the one who will really suffer is the villainess Elena.

I can’t help but think about it.

As I watch Elena going to get the juice I remembered her ending monologue.

I don’t remember clearly but she said something like ’my dream was to become a sage’.

Also something about going through training to act like royalties because she was no good in this.

’I always had to restrain myself because it will embarrass the prince if his fiancee is stronger than him’

’I hate these two because the important five years of my life were wasted because of them’

Well, it is a known fact that whether they are a warrior or a mage, the fastest growth will be in their early ages especially the time when the foundation is laid.

A person with an unstable foundation can never become a sage. That’s why she chooses the path of the evil magic users where all kinds of exceptions exist.

I gave an internal sigh and walked towards Elena.

If just doing something this simple can probably save her then I should not hesitate.

Some kid came running from behind Elena so she instinctively moved aside and at the same time Lucian and Hina mistakenly reached the edge of the dancing area.

Just as they were about to stumble upon each other, I pulled Elena while controlling the juice with water magic so it would not spill.

If I am doing something then it’s better to take no risk.

And that’s how I changed the whole plot of this Otome game. I don’t know what results it will bear when the time comes.
