Avoiding Death in an Otome Game

Chapter 2: Chapter - 2: The Villainess

This is a bad day, definitely a bad day because something happened that I wanted to avoid. I can see my death flags rising.

The situation is that, we have just arrived at the mansion and there are already some people waiting for us, more precisely they have also just arrived a few minutes ago.

Marquis Gael Mizo, the Lord of the North East territory of the kingdom, but he wasn’t the problem. The problem is his daughter!

This time Marquis Mizo came with his two daughters, eldest daughter Allia Mizo, probably 11 years old this year, she is also the heir of Mizo family and I expected to see her here but the real problem is her younger sister Elena Mizo! The villainess of the game!

She should be around the same age as me and the heroine since all of us supposedly entered the school in the same year. Her hair and eyes are black, and of course being a noble girl she was pretty and elegant in the game but not as pretty as the heroine.

The heroine was kind and bright just like her holy powers, while the villainess was completely opposite, cold and uncaring like her dark attribute but of course there was a reason behind that and since no ”event” has occurred yet so she is just a completely normal noble girl.

”It has been a while, Lord Yude”

”Yes, it has been a year since our meeting, Lord Gael”

Marquis Mizo and my father greeted each other formally, but that’s just a ’showcase’ in front of these officials, they are actually very close friends since they were classmates in the Royal Academy.

Of course there is some rivalry but it is just a healthy competition of power and capabilities.

”Nice to meet you Lady Alia and Lady Elena” Hiding my true thoughts, I greeted both of them with a smile. As the sole heir of Marquis family I have been taught all the noble etiquette and culture.

”Nice to meet you too, it’s been a while, Lord Kai” I have met Allia once during a formal party, as the successors we sometimes have to attend formal parties with our fathers.

”Nice to meet you” Elena gave a very short reply, evidently she is not used to formal meetings, if I think about it even in the game it was mentioned in her monologue that she was a genius magic user who only likes to train.

Well it’s better this way, since I will not have to interact with her too much. It’s better to avoid the ’main characters’ of the story as much as possible so I can also avoid my death.

My goal in this life is simple, train hard to become strong, enjoy my youth, get married to a lovely girl who should be completely irrelevant to the main story of the game, and become a Great Marquis in future.

.....

”I think my knights are more suitable since they are used to working in the mountains”

The topic of the meeting is the exploration of the newly found dungeon. Since this city is under both territories so both parties have to participate, they have to decide who will lead the exploration.

Marquis Mizo has a point, since their territory is in a mountainous region so they are definitely used to working in such areas.

”My party is led by Cecil” Father replied with a very confident smile.

Sir Cecil Wood, my father’s personal Butler-cum-Bodyguard, he used to be the knight captain of our territory but he retired from that very early and became my father’s bodyguard.

He is also a middle aged man slightly older than father, at first glance you might think he is just a normal veteran knight that he is but he is also an excellent manager, after our family he is probably the highest authority in Cerulean City. His strength and leadership can’t be doubted

Discussion was going on in a circle when suddenly Marquis Mizo said ”I have an idea”.

”What Idea?” Father replied with a smile, both of them are smiling in a similar manner and it’s giving me a bad feeling.

”Let’s make a bet” - Marquis Mizo said.

Here we go again, it always ends up like this, these two always come up with some completely irrelevant game to decide on any matter they disagree on.

”Alright, what’s the bet” Father also enjoys this.

”How about a spar match between my Elena and your Kai, whoever wins, their side will lead the exploration”.

Wait, What?! Don’t drag me in your bullshits!

That is what I wanted to say but I swallow those words but I am really pissed off. I wanted to spar with the main characters but I was talking about the capture targets not the villainess of all people.

In the game ’Holy Maiden’ Elena was the most important character after the heroine as half of the game revolves around her falling into the evil path.

She is also the most dangerous among all the main characters because just like how the heroine’s attribute evolves into holy so thus the villainess’s attribute evolves into evil. Evil attribute can affect the users mind and make them a psycho.

”Challenge accepted! Let me show you how I have trained my son”.

What challenge? And what training? I was mostly trained by tutors and knights. Sometimes my mother also gives me tips but when did my father train me in combat?
