Avoiding Death in an Otome Game

Chapter 12: Chapter - 12: The Secret Route

Heroine’s POV:-

I am Hina Blessen, the eldest child of the viscount of Mani. I am nine years old now.

Our family is not as rich as the other viscount families, because it is in a remote location but another reason which caused our financial instability was my step mother who spent a lot of money in gambling and drugs until she died two years ago.

No one tells me but I know that I am actually an illegitimate child, my father married my mother who was a maid after she gave birth to me.

And how do I know it?

It’s because I have memories of my past life, those I regained last year.

In my previous life, I used to live in a world where technology was far more advanced than here.

But there was no magic, at least in that era, though there were several religious institutions.

I was just a 12 year old middle school student when I died because of cancer.

I was not able to even attend my middle school properly.

The only pleasure I had at that time was playing my favorite game ’Holy Maiden’.

And this world is the identical one from that game, and I Hina Blessen was the supposed heroine of this game.

Of course it’s no longer a game but a life for me, a second chance to live my life.

...

I have just arrived at the Royal Palace along with my father.

Today is the second prince’s tenth birthday, and this grand party is held for that.

I nervously entered the grand hall.

This is going to be the first event of the game.

I can already hear people being astonished by my beauty, even I myself always get amazed by it when looking at a mirror.

But I know, it’s due to the existence of the holy essence in my attribute.

This will be revealed in the final arc of the game.

After walking for a while, I saw various characters from the game including the capture targets.

But there was something different.

There was someone who was not supposed to be here according to the original game.

It was Kai Shen, the only son of the Marquis of Cerulean.

In the game, he was an arrogant noble kid who despises the commoner, and probably the only male student who was not flustered by the heroine’s beauty.

That’s why he is called an unenchanted character among the fans.

In three normal routes, he dies no matter where the story proceeds.

Except for one scenario; the secret route.

That’s the only route where he lives because he is the capture target of the secret route.

It is a hidden route, only very few diehard fans know about it.

[Author: Kai doesn’t know anything about it, he was not a diehard fan like her]

But it is a thrilling one because everyone wanted to make him enchanted and see him flustered.

It was the only route where the reason behind his prejudice personality was revealed.

It was an incident that was supposed to be happening right now.

Kai was coming to the capital only accompanied by knights because his parents were busy dealing with some business.

He was supposed to be ambushed and get kidnapped in the way.

Marquis Shen heard the news and used everything possible to save him and he succeeded.

They found Kai four days later, in a very bad condition.

He was already severely tortured by the kidnappers and went into a trauma.

They also found the mastermind who was a member of the commoner faction.

After the incident, Marquis Shen joined the noble faction to eradicate everyone involved in that crime.

Although Kai recovered from his trauma in half a year. But he developed severe hatred for the commoner faction.

Now that I think about it, I feel pathetic about myself. Although I knew something like this was about to happen I couldn’t do anything.

But I am glad that it didn’t happen, but how?

Then I noticed the villainess Elena who was handing around Kai.

They seem really friendly.

A thought came to my mind, could it be that villainess is also a reincarnated person?

Maybe she was the one who saved him, and she maybe aiming for the secret capture target herself?

[Author: shooting arrow in the dark, but it was a really close one]

I will have to be careful, what if she is an evil person?

Well she is the supposed villainess but I mean what if she is a bad person who got reincarnated.

At that moment the music changed and everyone looked at a very fancy door that got opened.

The first prince and his fiancee walked out followed by other royal family members.

And finally my favorite character, the main capture target prince Lucian walked with the King and the Queen.

All the capture targets have different personalities. Ralf is a smart type, Jin is a strong type and prince Lucian is the gentle one.

Of course there is Kai, but being a secret target his personality was like a mix of all three.

He appeared headstrong like Jin in the start but later his cleverness was revealed in the middle of the secret route.

And finally when he and the heroine get together, his gentle personality becomes visible.

Although some fans loved that, honestly I prefer prince Lucian who is kind to everyone.

He never discriminates between people, and never plays underhand tricks, he is someone who works hard and focuses in both his studies and practices.

After congratulating prince Lucian, the party started in its true sense.

I don’t know what to do now, the dancing scene between the heroine and the prince starts by an incident.

I can’t just deliberately fall in front of him.

As I was just thinking about it, a kid went running in front of me, being startled I moved back when my leg slipped.

I thought I would fall by my back when someone caught me.

It was prince Lucian.

Is this the effect of the game? Although it played differently, it really happened.

”Are you fine?”

Prince Lucian asked gently.

I subconsciously nodded, and stood up properly.

”Thank you, your highness”

”You’re welcome, and also would you like to have a dance with me?”

Prince Lucian asked and offered his hand, just like in the game, he even forgot to ask my name because of nervousness after seeing the pretty heroine.

I gladly accepted his hand and we went to dance.

Everything was going smoothly when I remembered that the villainess scene is about to happen.

I saw the villainess walking with a glass of juice just like in the game.

We are about to hit each other but I can’t just forcibly stop prince Lucian.

Unexpectedly the incident didn’t happen, when I looked behind me, the villainess was walking with Kai.

She is really a reincarnated person!

But she seems to be only interested in Kai and not in prince Lucian.

But doesn’t it mean that all the scenarios of this event will change?

”I am sorry to ask but can you tell me your name again?”

Prince Lucian suddenly asked.

His face is all red from embarrassment, how cute.

”Hina Blessen, I am the eldest daughter of Viscount of Mani”

”Hina, very beautiful name just like you”

Ahh!

You should not be saying something so embarrassing to the girl you have just met.

Look now you are also averting your eyes in embarrassment.

As expected, no event happened with other capture targets but I am not interested in them either.

.....
