THE GOD EATER

When he was sure that he wasn’t mistaken and no one was playing a prank on him, he turned to the seer and said, “How did you turn out like this?”

He said, “I died only to come back and find out that I had been replaced. The new divine being occupying my divine position went hunting for me and tried to kill me so that I would never be able to threaten her.”

“In fact, it can be said that I am already dead because I am no longer the person I was. I had to transfer my mind into this new body through my Life Ability. Then I came here to join the Four Directions Sect.”

The seer said, “I can’t take back my Divine Position in my current state. My plan is to look for an alternative. So I spread my Knowledge Network throughout the Central Domain by installing an information broker shop in every city.”

Loki was so impressed by this plan that he clapped. As he clapped, he said, “Good plan. Very good plan.”

The seer’s eye twitched a little bit before he said, “Because becoming a divine being is very difficult. Every Divine Position is already taken and guarded jealously.”

“This makes replacing a divine being nearly impossible. The alternative is to create a new Divine Position, and I am already working on that.”

This time, the resistance was greater. He struggled not to spill his greatest secret, but he was still compelled to talk.

“If I succeed, I won’t have to fight the World King or the will of the world for control of the world. And if I fail, I can always transfer my mind into another body and start again. It is just that failure means I will have to wait a while for the previous World King to die.”

Now he was seeing just how insidious the Knowledge Network Life Ability was. Not only can the Life Ability be used to harvest knowledge from the minds of others by parasitizing them, but even the mind of the host can be transferred into a parasitized mind.

Of course, not everyone believes that. Many people believe that the new body is only someone with the memories and Life Ability of the previous host, not the exact same person.

But what Loki found absurd is that even with this ability, someone was able to steal the Divine Position from this seer and turn him into someone who can only fake his death and struggle to become a divine being.

His focus had returned to his own plans and preparations. So he said to the seer, “Since you know so much about divine beings, you should know how powerful a divine being is. Tell me exactly how they produce power.”

“The cultivation rank is also the Dao Status of the divine being. And as far as I know, it ranges from rank 6 to rank 8. I am not entirely sure about rank 9.”

“The Divine Metac is the portion of the power output that is affected by the Divine Metac. There can be one, two, or three Divine Metacs working together. The power of each one ranges from 6 to 8.”
