THE GOD EATER

According to the information he acquired when he asked around, it usually takes an average of 3 years for rank 5 cultivators to gain 1% of mastery. Only the most talented and the best can gain 1% of mastery in 2 years.

So by gaining 1% of mastery every week, he is approximately 104 times faster than the fastest rank 5 cultivator and 156 times faster than the average rank 5 cultivator.

Because of this great disparity in speed, it would only take him 100 weeks or 1 year and 11 months to reach the limit of 500%. As for other rank 5 cultivators, it usually takes them 300 years or 6 reincarnations, with an average of 50 years for each reincarnation, to reach this limit.

This makes it so that the increase of 12% to his mastery of energy manipulation is not modest at all. This is enough to bring a smile to his lips, which it did. But this is not the only source of joy for him.

Now that he has advanced to rank 5, the density level of his internal energy has doubled and increased from level 16 to level 17. This has directly doubled the quantity of his total internal energy from 29,491,200 units to 58,982,400 units.

In comparison, a rank 5 cultivator with the maximum energy well size of 90 units and an energy density level of 20 will have a total internal energy of 47,185,920 units. So he already possesses more internal energy than a peak-stage rank 5 cultivator.

Already, he has a 25% lead over a peak stage rank 5 cultivator. So by the time he reaches the peak of rank 5 himself, he will have 900% more internal energy than they do.

This isn’t surprising since the size of his energy well is 10 times the size of the limit of humans. However, this superiority in talent and the quantity of internal energy is still enough to make the smile on his face widen in delight.

As a source of joy for him, this advantage in total internal energy and energy regeneration is a lot to deal with. But this still isn’t all there is to the sources of joy for him. There is still the new Power Core Stat as a third source of joy.

The new Power Core Stat is a stat that every rank 5 cultivator enjoys. The Power Core Stat will replace the amplification of their energy well. It is why rank 5 cultivators are so much more powerful than rank 4 cultivators.

For now, his Power Core Stat is at 10 units. It should have been 9 units, but absorbing Fenrir back into his body after he let it eat Lady Red’s corpse increased it by 1 unit. All that sand that Fenrir ate didn’t increase his Power Core Stat by even 0.1 units, so it was mostly useless.

The exact source of joy from this is the fact that 90 units is usually the limit of the Power Core Stat. But for him, 90 units is only part of the beginning, and he has a long way to go before he reaches his limit.

This time, this source of joy caused him to chuckle in delight. But when he thought about how he would soon be able to afford to devour entire cities to increase his Power Core Stat, he began to laugh.

He laughed loudly and without fear as he flew through the sky. It was clear that he was in a good mood. But not everyone is in a good mood.

He has a lot of reasons to be in a good mood, but those same reasons are why someone else is in a bad mood. This person is none other than Golden Sun.

Golden Sun is currently wearing the identity of Slav. He has also advanced to rank 5 now.

He was already rank 3 when he woke up. It took him one week to advance to rank 4 and two more weeks to advance to rank 5. So it took him three weeks to go from rank 3 to rank 5.

He used one of the fragments of a world heart in his possession and used it to advance to rank 5. He had a lot of these fragments lying about, so he didn’t have to go looking around like other rank 4 cultivators.

The next thing he did after advancing to rank 5 was to go to the eastern border between the Central Domain and the Eastern Domain.

His goal is to enter the Eastern Domain. But the world barrier is blocking his way.

As he looked at the world barrier, he frowned. But the grey wall of mist blocking his way wasn’t the reason he was frowning.

The world barrier couldn’t be the reason he was in a foul mood because he knew what to expect when he came here, and so far, he hasn’t seen anything beyond the ordinary here. So the only thing that could put him in a bad mood was the source of bad luck that he could do nothing about.

Just now, he sensed that the source of bad luck had suddenly grown stronger. He knew that the source of bad luck was capable of growth, but he didn’t expect its growth to be this fast, hence his bad mood.

As he looked at the cloud of golden luck above his head, he said to himself, ’Just how did I get saddled with this bad luck. I can’t even find any causal link between us. So what I did to incur this bad luck shouldn’t exist at all.’

’Could it be because the source of the bad luck is one of my strong enemies? That would explain why I can’t pinpoint exactly what the source of bad luck is.’

’But the source of the bad luck seems too weak to be my enemies. Not unless it represents how soon they will find me. Either way, I have to do something to remove or suppress this bad luck before it becomes worse.’
