THE GOD EATER

In no time, the sect grounds were cleared out of people and buildings. With space now available, Loki was able to funnel more people into the sect grounds like a shepherd shepherding sheep into a pen.

As usual, many people didn’t like what he was doing. They tattled on him and called people over to help them stop Loki.

When the rank 4 cultivators came, he killed all of them. All 11 of them were killed and swallowed by Fenrir. But when the rank 5 cultivators came, he decided to listen to them.

One of them threatened him, saying, “You will regret this if you continue. You’d better stop now for your sake and mine, or you will offend someone you can’t afford to offend.”

In response, Loki said, “Alright, alright. I’ll stop killing.”

He did what he said and stopped killing people. He also recalled the vessels of Fenrir back into his body.

Clearly, he was being cooperative. Unfortunately, what he was doing still wasn’t enough to satisfy the rank 5 cultivator.

The rank 5 cultivator watched him work and saw the beasts that were running wild in the city earlier fuse with Loki’s body. What he saw interested him, so he mentioned it to the divine being that sent him.

The divine being had never heard of any Metac that could do what Loki was said to be doing, so they became interested in the matter. They were so interested that they immediately decided to come over to see for themselves.

A few seconds later, a large tear in space appeared above the city. The golden divine being came through the tear and immediately locked their gaze onto Loki.

When they saw what he was doing, the eyes of the divine being narrowed at Loki, and they said to themselves, “It truly is a Divine Metac. It seemed I was right to come.’

Just like before, the divine being didn’t bother to say anything to Loki. He immediately made his move to capture Loki.

Once Loki falls into his Cave Heaven, then he will be able to control everything. Loki won’t even be able to commit suicide or detonate his Metacs, so he will be able to capture this new Divine Metac that Loki is flaunting in his face.

This turn of events made Loki feel aggrieved. He truly felt cheated because he felt that he had already done his part, but they still refused to let him enjoy the fruits of his labor.

He couldn’t retrieve all of the vessels and had to commit suicide in order to escape. So this time, when he grumbled, he had a lot more choice words to say.

However, this time, he made sure to descend from the River of Time much earlier than he did before. So when he got control of his body again, he found that he was on his way to the central market to gamble, make more money, and buy Branch Metacs.

The feeling of tumbling and falling down an invisible staircase when he descended from the River of Time into his body happened again this time. But apart from a slight disorientation in his stomach where his Power Core is, his vision didn’t swoon, and he didn’t feel dizzy or nauseous.

He didn’t have to vomit at all, which made him excited. In order to find out why this had happened, he quickly used the Power Identification Ability.

What he saw made him say, ’Could it be that I didn’t feel queasy because my Power Core has grown stronger or because this version of myself in the past already has a Mental World and a Power Core, unlike the previous versions that I fused with?`

As he thought of these two options, he scratched his chin and asked himself, saying, ’Or could it be both? It truly could be both of them. After all, they are both different.’

He was leaning towards the latter because he felt that the addition of the Mental World and the Power Core into a body that didn’t possess them before was a drastic change that should affect him more than a simple increase in the size and power of his Power Core.

But he didn’t have conclusive evidence yet, so he decided to wait and acquire more information before coming to a conclusion. In the meantime, his plan to devour the city is still on track.

When he thought back to how he had been forced to give up over 90% of Fenrir’s vessels, he chuckled and said to himself, ’So you are a busybody. Good for you. I just hope that an enemy of yours won’t try to use this as an opportunity to bait you.’

With that said, he laughed with mirth as he resumed his journey to the central market.

On the way to his destination, he passed a lot of people. This is normal as there are always people coming and going. What wasn’t normal was the gaze he used to look at them.

In the past, he wouldn’t have bothered to look at these people because they were weak and insignificant. Literally nothing about them could affect him, so there was no need to pay any attention to them.

If it were possible to rob them of their money, he might have paid some attention to them. But he couldn’t rob them because all of their money is usually in their accounts and tied to their lives, so he never bothered with them.

However, now that he has become capable of eating them to gain power, these people have become useful sources of resources to him. They are now sources of food, so they have become important enough for him to pay attention to them.
