THE GOD EATER

He licked his lips as he said, ’Apparently, the Life Fire is the foundation of their longevity. As long as their Life Fire is burning, they will not die. Age or injury won’t kill them as long as their Life Fire is lit.’

As he said this, his eyes were shining. But his eyes dimmed a little bit as he said, ’However, they can’t live forever. If their Life Fire goes out for some reason, they will die.’

’She also learned that the Life Fire is divided into grades. The higher the grade, the more extra lifespan they will have and the more powerful they will be.’

’As for the cave heaven of divine beings, it is actually created from their mental world. The cave heaven will attach to the divine position so that as long as another person doesn’t take their divine position and their cave heaven isn’t destroyed, divine beings can always reincarnate and retake their divine positions.’

’What a wonderful power. I can’t wait to have it.’

He didn’t learn just how powerful divine beings are, but what he learned was still impressive. He was so impressed with it that he was riled up into standing and pacing around the cave in the ground.

As he paced around, the light of the mark on his forehead grew brighter and brighter. This time, he could tell without looking at the light that he was nearing the end of the fusion. This was because his stomach felt full as if he had just eaten a big meal.

But this only made him more excited. He couldn’t calm down, so he rushed over to Lady Red and grabbed her head to search her mind again.

This time, he searched for how she planned to convince the rank 6 divine being to help her advance to rank 6. But what he got this time was more disappointing than before.

Apparently, Lady Red had made a promise and signed a contract with the divine being more than 300 years ago when the two of them used to be mortals. The two of them made a deal to help each other ascend.

Lady Red did her part and helped the other person ascend. So now that it was her turn, she was hoping the divine being would help her.

This made him sneer and say, “If they help her, that would be great. But if they don’t, then that promise is worthless.”

“Either way, the promise is useless to me. I can’t very well steal a promise.”

He began to pace around again as he thought about how to solve the problem of creating a divine position.

His thoughts made him say to himself, ’The good news is that I have the coordinates of a world from her memories that she planned to use. I can use it to create a divine position for myself.’

’The bad news is that I might have to go at it alone. To be honest, I don’t know exactly how bad this is.’

’I’m currently much stronger than a peak rank 5 cultivator, and this is with me still being at rank 4. When I advance to rank 5 and reach the peak stage of rank 5, I will be much stronger, so taking on a world king won’t be as difficult for me.’

’But I won’t know just how difficult or easy it will be for me until I’ve achieved the peak of rank 5 and given it a shot. So the verdict on difficulty is still on hold.’

Then he smiled and said to himself, ’Fortunately, I have the Rewind Metac and can use it to escape even if things turn bad. If I can use the Rewind Metac to escape from six divine beings, I should be able to use it to escape from one divine being.’

He was feeling confident in himself when he suddenly remembered something about the last time he had to escape from six divine beings. What he remembered made his eyes light up in excitement.

In his excitement, he said, “Come to think of it, that small world has already been captured and subdued. The world king had been killed, and even the will of the world had been silent. Can’t I just waltz in and take the world for myself?”

As he thought of this, the pros and cons of the plan flashed through his mind one after the other. So he said, “On the plus side, I won’t have to beg any divine being to help me. I can just take everything I want in that small world.”

“On the bad side, the divine beings and the five sects will surely be cross that I stole from them. But who cares?”

He didn’t know about other people, but he was sure without a doubt that he didn’t care about offending anyone by hollowing out the heart of the small world. All he cared about right now was confirming if the plan was feasible or not.

So he went over to Lady Red again to search her mind. This time, he wanted to know if anyone had done what he had in mind and if anyone had succeeded.

Unfortunately, her mind was too scrambled to get anything out of her. So he said, “What a pity. It seems she has outlived her use.”

Actually, there was one last use for her. Since the natural wonder was done fusing with him, he decided to proceed with the last use for Lady Red.

Currently, her head was still in his hand. So in order to kill her, he made the second skin on his hands turn into a clawed gauntlet. Then he combined the power of his body with the power of the explosion that he stored within the Vengeful Metac to crush her skull.

This killed her and caused her Mental World to detach from her body. Her Mental World remained for a while before it began to fade away into the afterlife.
