The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

”The rule of our Criminal Investigation Team is this—let those who sweat enjoy the sweet rewards, and honor those who give their all!”

”We absolutely cannot let our heroes shed blood, sweat, and tears without getting what they deserve in return!”

A week later, in the grand hall of the Jiangcheng City Public Security Bureau, the solemn yet spirited honor award ceremony officially commenced.

This honor award ceremony, established the year before last, underwent a rule change.

In the past, leaders would deliver awards to recipients with simple ceremonies and limited scope.

Now it’s different; the City Bureau decided on a new rule—every six months, a collective award ceremony takes place, specially recognizing the outstanding individuals and groups of that half-year period.

The goal is to maximize the sense of ceremony, making the splendor of honor shine brighter and reach further.

And today, all 48 members of the Criminal Investigation Team are present, not one missing!

A solid block of dark blue uniforms sat orderly in the northeast corner of the hall, shoulder patches gleaming, spirits high.

Compared to other teams with just a few scattered representatives, they are undoubtedly the most striking and eye-catching presence in the whole venue!

Why is the Criminal Investigation Team so complete?

The reason is obvious—they have achieved a collective second-class merit!

This weighty honor belongs to every member of the team.

Who would want to miss such a glorious moment?

In contrast, if other teams have only a few individual awardees, naturally, they wouldn’t bring everyone to the ceremony.

Sending a few representatives to soak in the atmosphere and share in the glory suffices.

Otherwise, while the awardees bask in glory on stage, those seated might feel a pang of envy, changing the mood entirely.

The ceremony formally began, and Mr. Zhang briskly approached the podium, took the microphone, and scanned the assembled officers below, his voice robust and filled with emotion:

”Comrades, thank you for your hard work during this period!”

He paused, the hall fell silent, ”Especially given the heavy tasks, tight personnel, and numerous case situations, our entire Jiangcheng City Bureau personnel rose to the challenge, solving major cases repeatedly, achieving exceptional outcomes, and steadfastly maintaining social stability and public peace in our Jiangcheng!”

”In this half-year’s efforts, numerous outstanding figures and touching stories have emerged.”

”To boost morale and commend excellence, we have specially organized this grand collective honor award ceremony today!”

Mr. Zhang raised his voice by an octave, ”Of course, our main aim is to make everyone truly feel the sense of collective honor and professional pride through this form!”

”The police profession is tough, with high risks, and that’s the truth.”

His tone turned solemn, ”At any time, whether facing dangerous criminals or complex disputes, we must always remember.”

”We are a united fist! Only by standing together, entrusting our backs to our comrades and brothers, can we confidently face all challenges ahead!”

”Alright, I won’t say much more. Now, let’s have Mr. Wang from the Political Department read the award list!”

Soon, Mr. Wang from the Political Department, with a red-headed document in hand, proceeded to the front and began reading it verbatim.

The list was long, from individual third-class merits to commendations, each name read out triggered reserved yet joyous applause from the corresponding section below.

When he reached the most significant collective award, Mr. Wang paused briefly and raised his voice: ”The unit awarded the collective second-class merit is—”

The entire hall instantly held its breath, all eyes focused on him.

”Jiangcheng City Public Security Bureau Criminal Investigation Team!”

”Wow—!!!”

The applause wasn’t just loud; it exploded into existence!

Like long-accumulated strength suddenly unleashed, or a sudden storm, its penetrating power swept through the entire hall!

The source of the sound was precisely from that exceptionally organized formation in the northeast corner of the hall!

The fervor and momentum even made Mr. Wang, who was reading the list on stage, instinctively raise his head, adjust his glasses, and look with surprise towards the boiling section.

The applause came so warmly and unexpectedly, like a boulder thrown into a tranquil lake, creating ripples that made everyone in the hall turn their heads, eyes all directed towards the source.

Amidst this focal point of attention, Mr. Li seated in the front row, immediately became the second center of the entire audience’s gaze.

In that moment, an uncontrollable joy surged from within, manifesting as a gleam in his eyes and an unmistakable curve at the corner of his mouth.

This applause was for their brothers under his command!

Mr. Hu, overseeing economic investigations and unable to suppress his excitement, gently nudged Mr. Li beside him with his elbow, speaking in a low tone: ”Old Li, did you see that! That aura!”

Mr. Li did not respond immediately, but his slightly raised chin and relaxed brows said it all.

Then Director Zhao, who managed public security, leaned over as well, his tone filled with undisguised envy.

”Mr. Li, it has to be your Criminal Investigation Team brothers!”

”Just look at that cohesion, even the applause is so synchronized, as if they rehearsed it, really enviable!”

His words were like a warm breeze, making Mr. Li feel even more comfortable.

He couldn’t hold back any longer, a grin revealed his teeth, and he chuckled twice, his voice filled with pride.

”Ha ha, Director Zhao, you’re too kind.”

”This gang of brothers, I don’t have to say much, when it comes to unity, they truly are this!” He discreetly gave a big thumbs up under the table.
