The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

At this moment, Jiang An’s heart could not be calm.

Even though they successfully restored the deceased’s appearance before death, there are still many doubts.

The deceased’s residence address turned out to be in Qingzhou City, over five hundred kilometers away.

Why would she appear here?

What secret is hidden behind this distance of several hundred kilometers?

After a brief silence, Deputy Captain of the Criminal Investigation Team, Chen Biao, spoke: ”Mr Li, Mr. Wang, this girl coming to our Chuan City from over five hundred kilometers away is definitely abnormal.”

”I believe there are clues and evidence behind this case that we have yet to grasp.”

Mr Li nodded slightly and said thoughtfully.

”I agree with your judgment.”

”However, we also cannot rule out the possibility that she came to Chuan City for tourism.”

”I once went hiking in that area when I was young.”

His gaze swept over everyone present, as if seeking their opinions.

The forensic assistant immediately agreed: ”Indeed.”

”Although it’s not considered a famous scenic area, the original ecological environment is well-preserved, making it the first choice for many hiking enthusiasts.”

At this time, another young laboratory assistant with black-rimmed glasses joined the discussion.

”I remember during university, my classmates and I often went camping and exploring around there.”

Jiang An and Wan, who were from elsewhere and unfamiliar with the local geography, remained silent during the discussion, just focusing on listening to everyone’s speech.

10 minutes later, Wan said solemnly: ”Mr Li, Mr. Wang, coming from out of town for hiking is indeed a reasonable entry point.”

”But should we also consider other possibilities?”

”For example, the deceased might have secretly come here with a lover, with no relevant records in residence and address registration.”

Mr Li nodded thoughtfully: ”This angle is indeed worth considering.”

As soon as he spoke, Zhang Yean, who had been silent, suddenly spoke: ”In addition, should we consider the possibility of suicide?”

”The original forest area is next to a cliff; could it be a place chosen by some special groups to end their lives?”

Hearing this, Chen Biao said: ”About ten years ago, there were indeed several suicide incidents there, and it was even once called ’Suicide Sanctuary’.”

As the discussion deepened, the atmosphere in the meeting room became more solemn.

Everyone offered their insights, except Jiang An, who remained silent.

His gaze was locked on the case materials on the table, his brows furrowed, as his mind swiftly processed various possibilities.

”Regardless of geography,” Jiang An pondered internally, ”how to explain the rope found at the scene and the fracture on the deceased’s head before death? Apart from the possibility of willingly coming to Chuan City, could there be a forced situation?” This thought flashed, and Jiang An’s heart suddenly accelerated. If the deceased was forced to come to Chuan City, it could very well be a meticulously planned murder.

Just as he was deep in thought, Wang Yang patted him on the shoulder.

”Mr. Jiang, what are you so engrossed in?”

Jiang An looked up, glanced around, and slowly said: ”I’ve listened carefully to everyone’s analysis just now, but I’ve thought of a new possibility.”

”Oh? What possibility?”

Mr Li immediately asked.

”Is there a possibility of far-flung body disposal?”

”Body disposal”

These two words hit everyone’s hearts like a heavy hammer.

”You’re saying... the body was transported here by the murderer from afar?”

”Exactly.”

After a pause, Jiang An continued: ”I have a feeling that the crime scene is not the first crime scene.”

”Not the first crime scene?”

Mr Li repeated the words, furrowing his brows even tighter.

The entire laboratory fell silent again, everyone digesting this shocking speculation.

”Although the nature of the death cannot be completely determined, from the site survey and the condition of the deceased’s personal belongings, the case is full of anomalies.”

Jiang An placed both hands on the conference table, his gaze sweeping over each colleague present.

”Let’s analyze from the most basic logic.”

”Nowadays, which young person goes out without bringing a phone?”

”In this informational era, a cellphone has almost become an extension of the human body.”

”More strangely, the deceased not only didn’t bring a phone but also the most basic personal items, change of clothes, and even personal identification.”

”This completely defies logic.”

He walked to the whiteboard, picked up a marker, and began listing the doubts.

”If the deceased were a local resident, perhaps one could explain temporarily going out without documents.”

”But the deceased’s hometown is 500 kilometers away.”

”How could someone on a long journey not bring anything?”

”What does this indicate?”

”I think this is not a simple oversight, but a key breakthrough in solving the case.”

After a long while, Mr Li took off his glasses and wiped the lenses with the corner of his clothes.

He frowned and said: ”Mr Jiang’s analysis hits the nail on the head.”

”In the initial investigation, we were indeed troubled by this issue for a long time.”

”When the corpse was first discovered, we considered that maybe scavengers in the mountains took the deceased’s belongings.”

”After all, there was a similar situation in the ’7·15’ case in Chuan City.”

Jiang An nodded slightly, tapping his fingers rhythmically on the table.

”Mr Li, that possibility does exist.”

”In the ’Reservoir Floating Corpse Case’ investigated in Jiangcheng, we also encountered this situation.”

”But, we cannot arbitrarily categorize this case into the same type just because there were similar cases before.”

”I understand that logic.”

Mr Li put his glasses back on, his gaze behind the lenses becoming sharp.
