The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Mr. Ma carefully unfolded the silk banner, which was adorned with golden characters on a red background, reading: ”Jiangcheng’s Detective Shows Strength, Brings Justice to the People.” These twelve words sparkled brilliantly under the light.

”Great! Beautifully written!”

Mr. Ma nodded with satisfaction and explained, ”Actually, the success of this case owes much to Deputy Team Leader Jiang An.”

”However, he’s currently escorting another suspect from out of town and couldn’t return in time.”

”I’ll accept this honor on his behalf for now.”

”But rest assured, our Jiangcheng Police Team is united as one. No matter what case we face, we will go all out and never cease our efforts to solve it!”

”Our work goals are clear: not to overlook any case, not to leave any doubt unresolved, and to thoroughly investigate every case, giving a clear explanation to the public!”

”Well said!”

”Thank you so much!”

”The Jiangcheng police are exemplary!”

.......

The families clapped and cheered excitedly.

In this warm atmosphere, both sides stood together for a commemorative photo, as a staff member from the publicity department clicked the shutter to capture this touching moment of the strong bond between police and the public.

At exactly 7 p.m., Li Jian, Jiang An, Wan, and Zhang Yean returned from out of town, escorting the suspect.

To their surprise, as soon as they entered the courtyard of the city bureau, they saw Mr. Ma himself waiting in front of the office building with two officers.

As soon as the car passed the gate, Li Jian asked the driver to stop, and the four quickly walked towards Mr. Ma.

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Li Jian said, ”Mr. Ma, isn’t this a bit too much?”

”We just went on a trip to catch someone, and here you are, personally welcoming us at the door, which makes us quite embarrassed.”

Mr. Ma laughed and patted Li Jian’s shoulder, ”With ability comes position.”

”Here, I don’t look at seniority, only at case-solving abilities and actual contributions.”

”You did an excellent job on this case. We could have given you a proper commendation, but you weren’t around.”

”The families came this afternoon to deliver the banner, so I accepted it on your behalf.”

Standing by, Jiang An quickly said, ”Mr. Ma, saying ’on behalf’ is too formal.”

”The success of this case depended entirely on your command and direction.”

”As the task force leader, you are undoubtedly the primary hero.”

Li Jian teased, ”Jiang An, your flattery skills are really improving; you can dish out a compliment anytime, anywhere.”

He turned to Jiang An and said seriously, ”Truthfully, your performance this time was outstanding.”

”You broke free from conventional thinking, ventured out of old cases, proposed unique insights, and persisted in thorough investigation. Such professionalism is rare.”

”With you, no matter how complex the cases in Jiangcheng’s criminal investigation are, we’re confident we can tackle them. We might even support complex cases in other regions.”

”Mr. Ma, you might not know, but on our way back from Chuan Province, the criminal investigation captain of the local county police was lavish in his praise for our Jiangcheng Police Team.”

”Especially when he heard that Jiang An was with us, he said directly: ’Jiang An’s reputation has long spread, even louder than the Jiangcheng criminal investigation’s name.’

”Oh? That impressive?”

Mr. Ma raised his eyebrows in surprise.

”Hearing that reminds me.”

”Last time, Jiang An participated in a special operation at the provincial hall, with elites from teams across the province. Everyone spoke highly of Jiang An.”

”They even wanted Jiang An to assist with two homicide cases there, but considering we just closed our case and the fatigue from continuous operations, I let him rest first.”

”It’s not too late to go and guide once he’s recovered.”

Saying that, Mr. Ma kindly patted Jiang An’s shoulder, his eyes full of appreciation.

As a leader, nothing is more gratifying than seeing an officer you personally trained achieve excellent results.

This not only affirms the officer’s personal abilities but also best proves the leadership’s skill in recognizing and employing talent.

He raised his hand and firmly patted Jiang An’s shoulder, ”Brother Jiang An, well done!”

”Continue to maintain this diligent, hardworking attitude, and also promote the spirit of innovation and progress.”

”The bureau needs capable, steady, and hardworking young cadres like you.”

”I believe with your performance, your path to promotion will only become broader.”

Saying this, they turned and prepared to walk into the office building.

Having just taken a few steps, Mr. Ma stopped as if suddenly remembering something and turned to say, ”By the way, there’s an important notice.”

”Jiangcheng TV Station will be producing a special episode of ’Jiangcheng Legal Talk’ in the next few days, inviting us to participate in the recording.”

”After a study by the bureau’s committee, this time, Jiang An will narrate the case-solving process.”

At this point, Mr. Ma paused intentionally, looking warmly at Jiang An.

”On one hand, it can fully showcase our Jiangcheng police officers’ professionalism and work achievements; on the other, it can foster a good public opinion atmosphere of maintaining stability and combating crime.”

”Jiang An, this is an important task; you must prepare seriously.”

Hearing this sudden arrangement, Jiang An was visibly stunned, instinctively pointing at himself.

”Me?”

His face was full of disbelief.

In his mind, such a public appearance should rightfully involve the top leader or the criminal investigation captain.

Having climbed the ranks of the police system for years, he knew the importance of never overshadowing the leadership.

Especially considering Mr. Ma’s and Mr. Li’s careful nurturing, the arrangement seemed even more unexpected.

Captain Li Jian, seeing this, laughed heartily, ”Yes, you!”
