The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 499: Chapter 285: His Motive for Committing the Crime! (Part 2)

He said, ”Mr. Li, our group mainly focuses on Li Lei’s workplace, including the electronics factory and the property management company.”

”From what we’ve gathered, most of his colleagues at the property management company have left, and the current employees don’t have a strong impression of him.”

”However, he worked at the electronics factory for a relatively long time, and he left fairly recently.”

”We conducted a comprehensive and detailed investigation at the electronics factory.”

”During his time at the electronics factory, Li Lei was very introverted and reclusive, keeping to himself.”

”He even endured his colleagues’ jokes and slights without complaint.”

”Because of this, their supervisor still feels uneasy.”

”What do you mean?”

Wan asked curiously.

”Doesn’t the boss like employees who silently endure and are diligent?”

”Haha, the boss likes diligent employees, but not those who keep everything to themselves without saying a word.”

”It’s like a balloon — too much pressure and it might explode, causing big problems!”

”Li Lei’s supervisor was once very concerned about him and even quite afraid of him.”

”Because of labor law protections, I didn’t proactively terminate his position.”

”But while his work performance was diligent, his psychological state worried their supervisor deeply.”

”How terrifying!”

Zhang Yean’s eyes widened in fear.

”Their supervisor said that Li Lei didn’t have good relations with people at the unit. Many bullied him, and some publicly embarrassed him.”

”Yet he remained calm, as if he could contain everything inside.”

”Regarding his personal life, many knew he married and divorced multiple times, and he had no children.”

”So once, an employee joked about him being unable to have children.”

”In response, he merely smiled.”

”There were many people at the time laughing at him, yet he managed to endure it.”

”Do you think such a person is a bit scary?”

After Mr. Fu finished speaking, his face also showed a surprised expression.

Wang, changing from his earlier demeanor, said in a serious tone, ”Impressive, even more so than King Gou Jian of Yue.”

”If I were laughed at by so many, I’d overthrow each one, even if I lost the fight, preferring to capture the leader first.”

During the entire time, Jiang An was carefully listening.

He casually asked, ”That employee who made fun of him, what’s their name?”

Mr. Fu replied, ”Seems like it was Wang Shuang.”

”Oh, Wang Shuang.”

”Are they from the same workshop?”

”Exactly!”

”After this incident, did Wang Shuang get retaliated against by him?” Jiang An asked.

Mr. Fu shook his head.

”Currently, we haven’t obtained any related clues.”

”However, there’s something a bit unusual.”

”Wang Shuang’s wife disappeared a year later.”

”Disappeared a year later?”

”Why did she disappear?”

Jiang An asked.

”That isn’t very clear either.”

”At the time, the supervisor said after Wang Shuang’s wife disappeared, their factory reached out, and they involved the police, coordinating with many departments to search, but never found any trace of her.”

As soon as those words fell, Mr. Fu added, ”But the time span between that incident and his humiliation was quite long, probably unrelated.”

Though Mr. Fu didn’t think much of it, both Jiang An and Captain Li Jian’s expressions changed slightly.

The two turned to look at each other, a surprise reflected in their eyes.

Then, Captain Li Jian spoke solemnly, ”She disappeared? Did this woman have any distinguishing features?”

Mr. Fu glanced at his notebook and said, ”I haven’t further investigated that.”

Li Jian nodded, saying, ”It’s alright.”

”I think this matter requires a deeper investigation.”

Jiang An pondered and said, ”Yes, King Gou Jian of Yue took revenge on Wu, his philosophy was that a gentleman’s revenge is never too late.”

”In this situation, we should be prudent.”

”Because the identity of one of the deceased is still not clear.”

”Oh, you mean White Bone?”

”That’s possible.”

”Although White Bone’s time of death cannot be determined.”

”If Li Lei sought revenge back then, it’s not impossible he might have harmed that person’s family.”

Suddenly, everyone put down their chopsticks, and the small room’s atmosphere quieted instantly.

For some reason, everyone suddenly felt a chill down their backs.

Images of Li Lei — appearing scholarly and kind — flickered in their minds. Could he truly be this dark inside?

Would he kill just because of a joke?

After a brief silence, Captain Li Jian said solemnly, ”I think what Jiang An just said makes a lot of sense; we cannot dismiss any clues.”

”In this case, the suspect shows strong counter-investigation skills and is quite cunning.”

”He might be silently enduring not because of boundless patience, but because of other ways of seeking revenge.”

”Mr. Fu, please research this lead further, find out if there’s any way to identify this woman who disappeared years ago.”

Mr. Fu nodded immediately after hearing this, ”Yes, Captain!”

He then took out his notebook and jotted down the assignment.

Afterward, Captain Li Jian looked around and said, ”Alright, we have almost finished eating, so I’ll briefly arrange tomorrow’s tasks.”

After he finished speaking, he glanced at Jiang An, then continued, ”For tomorrow’s work, as I just mentioned to Mr. Fu, dive deeper into Wang Shuang’s ex-wife’s disappearance, see if the characteristics match White Bone?”

”Additionally, we need further testing on the mud found on the hiking boots at Li Lei’s house, determining if its composition matches that of Hounao Mountain.”

”Specifically, we need to collect soil from all mountain ranges throughout Jiangcheng for comparison.”

”Jiangcheng is a very large area; besides Migratory Bird Mountain, there are other small mountains like Peng’an Mountain, Dongshi Mountain, and five others.”

”Therefore, tomorrow we need to extract soil from these seven mountains and compare them in the lab.”

”Currently, we can’t ascertain if he went hiking, but if he did, Li Lei had no transportation and likely stayed within the city.”

”So, the comparison results of soil from the seven mountains are vital.”

”If we receive different results, we’ll proceed with detailed investigations.”

Finally, Captain Li Jian summarized, ”From the choice of the suspect’s victims and the characteristics of the murder scene analysis, it seems.”

”The murderer only kills for money, without any evident sexual intent.

”This matches suspect Li Lei’s personality traits.”

”Li Lei was unable to consummate his marriage, repeatedly dealing blows to his self-esteem, potentially fostering particular hatred towards women.”

”This also aligns with his three wives’ reports; in the marriage’s later stages, Li Lei developed significant suspicion.”

”When they went out to eat or shop, he suspected they were meeting other men.”

”This likely serves as a core motive for the suspect.”

”Going forward, let’s collect all personal information on suspect Li Lei along these lines.”

”Everyone, give it your all, let’s break through and resolve this case!”

”Yes!”

Everyone responded in unison, echoing their resolve throughout the cafeteria.
