The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 482: Chapter 277: Cities Have Boundaries, Justice Has None

For this kind of serial murder case, the criminal suspect is quite intelligent.

Although sometimes the police and criminals engage in a battle between justice and evil,

Ultimately, it’s a contest and confrontation of intelligence.

If there is no strong technological advantage, many cases could become unsolved mysteries.

After Mr. Ma finished speaking, everyone responded in unison: ”Understood!”

After the meeting ended, everyone swiftly took action.

Li Jian and Mr. Fu personally led the team to investigate among the fishermen by the riverside in Jiangcheng.

Jiang An and Zhang Yean stayed in the office to review the case files.

In the police car on the field, Wan was holding the steering wheel, driving.

He turned his head and said: ”Mr. Li, you can take a nap.”

”I checked the navigation, it will probably take about half an hour.”

Li Jian took out his cigarette and took a puff, waving his hand.

”Forget about it! Forget it!”

”You drive first, I’ll smoke a cigarette.”

”It’s hard to sleep when I want to at this time.”

”Haha, everyone was passionate during the meeting just now.”

After taking a puff of smoke, Li Jian said: ”Exactly! This case has troubled our Jiangcheng Police Team for many years.”

”If we can solve it with a final effort, the case will be successfully broken open.”

Li Jian smiled and continued: ”It’s a good thing to achieve multiple goals at once.”

”This is the first time in my criminal police career that I’ve encountered this.”

Wan couldn’t help but laugh continually and said: ”Wow! If it looks like this, aren’t we going to score another achievement by luck?”

”This is a serial murder case, surely we can achieve a collective first-class merit.”

With Wan’s reminder, Li Jian suddenly thought of Mr. Li’s situation.

”You know, if this case can indeed be solved, it’s not impossible to receive a collective first-class merit.”

The two officers sitting in the back row perked up when they heard Li Jian say ”achievement,” leaning forward slightly.

One officer in the back row said: ”Captain, I heard before that a first-class merit is achieved lying down for the family, a second-class merit is achieved standing up, and a third-class merit is achieved standing. Is this true?”

Li Jian covered his mouth and turned his head to say: ”This is true for ordinary people, but not for Jiang An.”

Wan chimed in: ”Exactly!”

”I admire Jiang An to the utmost.”

”Even though he’s younger than us, his way of thinking and logic sequence are truly admirable.”

Li Jian also said: ”Even if we combined, our team of ten wouldn’t match up to him.”

”Hahaha, he alone can completely challenge our entire Jiangcheng Police Team.”

Wan immediately flattered: ”Captain, the train runs fast all because of the leading locomotive.”

”No matter Jiang An’s skills, the Criminal Investigation Team will always have you in charge.”

Li Jian laughed bitterly and said: ”Oh, I’m growing old, time spares no one.”

”The backbone of the Criminal Investigation must be the most capable.”

Meanwhile, in the Criminal Investigation Team meeting room, Jiang An was not idle.

He and Zhang Yean were still studying the scene investigation photos.

However, it was evident that Zhang Yean wasn’t as focused as Jiang An.

She stood up and said: ”I’ll go to the tea room to get two cups of coffee to clear your mind.”

Jiang An nodded, his eyes still fixed on the map in front of him.

Although Mr. Fu and Li Jian had gone to the scene for investigation,

the river in Jiangcheng is long, with many residents along the way.

If they rely solely on this traditional investigation method, it’s not an easy task to investigate over more than ten kilometers along the river.

It has now largely been determined that the criminal suspect is very likely a local fisherman.

How to further narrow down the range of the murderer is what he needs to consider next.

Only by maximizing the reduction in scope can the workload be reduced.

After a long period of thought, Jiang An picked up a marker and gently circled an area along the river.

Three minutes later, Zhang Yean entered with two cups of coffee, ”Have a cup of coffee, junior brother.”

”Thank you!”

Zhang Yean glanced at the map and said: ”You drew a circle on this map, what does it mean?”

”Is there a problem?”

Jiang An nodded: ”This spot looks small on the map but includes the location where the White Bone corpse was placed.”

”Hmm, I know.”

Zhang Yean, sipping coffee, said, ”That’s indeed the location of the White Bone corpse.”

Then, Jiang An continued: ”Senior sister, do you remember when I talked about remote disposal and near concealment?”

Looking at the map before her, Zhang Yean nodded constantly.

Soon, Jiang An continued: ”Since the killer hid the corpse in that place, according to the principle of remote disposal and near concealment, does that indicate the killer is not far from this place?”

Hearing this reasoning, Zhang Yean suddenly widened her eyes.

She turned to Jiang An and said: ”You mean, the killer is very likely to be in this place?”

Jiang An nodded, his gaze firm.

”This is currently just a guess of mine.”

”However, whether there might be a change in location, we don’t know.”

”After all, it’s been many years since the case happened.”

”Over a decade has passed, perhaps there’s a high chance of migration now.”

At this point, Zhang Yean had a flash of insight.

”It’s not complicated!”

”In the past, I was responsible for basic information collection at the grassroots police station.”

”We just need to sort out the resident information in the local area during the time of the crime.”

”We can also screen the personnel who meet the conditions along the route.”

”This is a good method.”

Jiang An said excitedly.

”Senior sister, you’ve truly broadened my horizon this time.”

”I think your method is great.”

”Where can we search for this information?”

Zhang Yean’s lips curled up, feeling very pleased inside.

Her suggestion was adopted by Jiang An, filling her heart with a sense of accomplishment.

”It’s not complicated!”

”These can be investigated with big data at our city bureau.”

”As long as you input the conditions, you can completely find the personnel who meet the conditions.”

”Alright then, let’s investigate.”

Saying that, Jiang An put down his coffee, ”Let’s go, let’s check now.”

Listening, yet laughing helplessly, was Zhang Yean.

”I haven’t even taken two sips of this coffee yet!”

”It won’t taste good when it’s cold!”

”No problem, we can take it along and drink as we walk!”

As they spoke, Jiang An, as if hit by a shot of adrenaline, grabbed his coffee and rushed out.

At that moment, in the small reception room at the city bureau, Mr. Ma was sipping tea with the three directors.

Of course, they were mainly waiting for updates from the front line.

Mr. Ma held his cup of kung fu tea, blew the leaves on the water surface, and took a soft sip.

Suddenly, he found today’s green tea taste exceptionally good.

”Three directors, you really went to great lengths today.”

Mr. Zhang smiled and said: ”It’s not a bother.”

”Today, the Jiangcheng Criminal Investigation Team’s case analysis really opened my eyes.”

”I had only heard about it before, but today I truly felt your team’s strength, which is very impressive.”

Mr. Ma, humbly replied: ”Mr. Zhang, you’re flattering.”

Mr. Zhang raised his hand and shrugged: ”Not praising!”

”The whole approach and analysis method of the case have reached the top level across our Dragon Country.”

”I think in the future, you can fully form a Special Task Force to diagnose difficult cases across Dragon Country.”

”We can greatly improve the efficiency of solving cases too.”

Upon hearing this, Mr. Ma was momentarily stunned!

Such overwhelming glory came too suddenly!

To move from Jiangcheng to all of Dragon Country??

After all, moving from Jiangcheng to the entire province first requires a leap.

If there is such an opportunity, wouldn’t it be amazing!

Thinking about this, Mr. Ma quickly said: ”Mr. Zhang, if there is such an opportunity, that would be great!”

”After all, our Jiangcheng Police Team has always taken fighting crime and maintaining social peace as its mission.”

”No matter where, fighting crime is our duty.”

”Cities have boundaries, but justice knows no boundaries.”
