The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 454: Chapter 264: Profiling the Killer (Part 2)

If analyzed this way, the possibility of the death occurring during the daytime is still very high.

Then, Mr. Bai said, ”If the incident occurred during the daytime.”

”There were no signs of struggle or argument on the second victim, and no shouting was heard in the vicinity, does that indicate the suspect had a very familiar relationship with them?”

”Exactly! Exactly!”

”The clothes on the victim are fairly tidy, clearly not in a state of rest.”

Mr. Ma also stated earnestly, ”We frequently investigate such individuals.”

”They usually work at night and rest during the day, often sleeping until late.”

”Generally, they only get up close to opening time.”

Mr. Wang added, ”If the incident happened during the daytime.”

”Then, I think we really need to consider the suspect’s range of influence.”

”Being able to boldly come over to commit murder during the day isn’t something just anyone can do.”

”Moreover, leaving after killing two people and closing the door.”

”The perpetrator must be very familiar with the business hours and daily routine here.”

”From this perspective, it further shows the killer was very familiar with the two victims.”

”Makes sense!”

”It certainly makes sense.”

Mr. Zhang nodded repeatedly after hearing this.

”At first, we didn’t consider much and thought it was a client.”

”But with this analysis, it might be two people who knew the victims very well, at least acquaintances.”

Then, Mr. Bai turned to the bedside to look at the sheets and blankets.

He said in a deep voice, ”Look at the sheets here; there are not many creases, just enough to lay one person down.”

”And the quilt is placed beside it, not yet opened.”

”Doesn’t this fully suggest that the woman was killed without tossing and turning when she lay here?”

Upon hearing this, Mr. Ma instantly fell into thought.

”You are right!”

”Initially, we did have this question.”

”We found the body on the bed too neatly arranged, as if loaded onto it after being killed.”

”However, after scene investigation, we identified this place as the first crime scene.”

”Oh, how did you determine this is the first crime scene?”

Mr. Bai asked.

Mr. Ma squatted down and pointed to the four corners of the bed.

”Initially, we wanted to confirm if this place was the first crime scene, and did some work.”

”You see, all four bed legs have clear displacement, which we believe is closely related to the incident.”

”This place has changed, do you mean it was formed by a struggle?”

”Yes, we believed at the time that it was formed by the deceased woman’s strong struggle while being murdered.”

Upon finishing speaking, Mr. Bai suddenly pushed up his glasses with his forefinger, leaving two red marks pressed by the metal frame on his cheekbones. This subtle expression made the temperature of the room seem to drop five degrees.

He asked, ”Then have you considered whether it was formed during her business activities?”

Mr. Ma replied, ”At that time, we indeed ruled it out.”

”However, compared to another room’s bed, the range of movement here is quite large.”

”There’s some separation between the bed and the wall.”

Upon finishing speaking, Li Jian, Jiang An, Zhang Yean, and Wan came upstairs from the first floor.

Li Jian walked while introducing the situation on the second floor to Jiang An.

After all, he was far more familiar with this case than the other three.

Jiang An listened to the introduction while walking.

Finally, they gathered in the innermost bedroom.

Mr. Bai turned and glanced at Jiang An, asking him meaningfully, ”Mr. Jiang, does this place seem like the first crime scene to you?”

Faced with this sudden question, six pairs of eyes shot towards him like spotlights, and Jiang An felt beads of sweat gather at the back of his neck but deliberately closed his notebook with a loud snap, buying himself two seconds to think.

After a long time, he said, ”This indeed should be the first crime scene.”

”Firstly, because the gap between the bed and the wall is very large.”

”This gap fully indicates the victim probably had a process of pushing the wall with her palm, causing the bed and wall to separate.”

”Moreover, near the right side of the headboard, the bedding shows a clear process of being grasped, the sheet has evident creases.”

”Both of these places should highly fit the victim’s struggles during a moment of attack.”

Mr. Bai lightly nodded after hearing.

”Indeed, a very perceptive observation.”

”I’m not very concerned about the marks on the floor.”

”After all, this victim was engaged in physical transactions, so it’s very likely there are marks from such activities.”

”But the distance between the bed and wall, especially the grasp marks on the sheet at the right side of the headboard, cannot be ignored.”

”Mr. Jiang, with such a meticulous criminal investigation expert like you, cases in the future needn’t be feared.”

At this moment, both Mr. Zhang and Mr. Ma had an epiphany.

They once believed that the scene had been examined many times, and the case files had been reviewed numerous times, assuming it to be a flawless investigation.

However, now it seemed full of holes.

Such substantial evidence hadn’t been found; rather, other evidence had been overlooked.

Both Mr. Zhang and Mr. Ma looked towards Jiang An, showing admiration on their faces.

Mr. Bai thought for a while, solemnly stating, ”Now it seems this woman was killed just after lying on the bed.”

”Exactly!”

”That was indeed our initial thought.”

Mr. Zhang said with emotion.

Next, Mr. Bai analyzed, ”Since this woman was killed so quickly, it fully shows that the killer’s purpose was very clear - to kill.”

”As for the previously mentioned motive of acquiring money, personally, I think it’s not very evident.”

”Moreover, the jewelry on the female victim wasn’t removed, nor were her clothes rummaged through, indicating a weak motive for robbery.”

Jiang An nodded in agreement after hearing.

Then, Mr. Bai turned to glance at Jiang An.

”Mr. Jiang, after re-investigating, do you have any new insights or experiences?”

Being suddenly called out by a leader, Jiang An raised his head and said, ”Earlier, I conducted a comprehensive and detailed investigation of the bloodstains on the first floor and gained some new insights.”

”Oh, tell us.”

Instantly, all gaze shot towards him like spotlights again.

Jiang An suddenly simulated the posture of the murderer, half-kneeling by the bed edge, left hand slightly gripping his throat, and right hand making a knife-wielding gesture, suddenly freezing in the air - this freeze-frame allowing everyone to clearly see his forearm’s bulging veins.

He said in a deep voice, ”The original position of the first victim, Yang Xiu, should have been on the swivel chair.”

”Moreover, judging by the shape of the wound, the tool used by the perpetrator should’ve been a dagger.”

”The force used with the dagger was quite large, creating markings similar to chopping marks on the bones.”

”This fully indicates the killer was physically strong, with great strength and quick movements.”

”When cutting the throat, the swing of the knife formed bloodstains at a distance.”

While speaking, Jiang An glanced at the bed.

”If I’m not mistaken, the victim lying on the bed had neck injuries indicating asphyxiation due to pressure, with noticeable cervical dislocation.”

”In terms of forensic examination, pressure on the neck can suffocate someone.”

”However, for a sudden and noticeable cervical dislocation to occur, this can’t be done by just anyone.”

”From this point, I think the physical strength and control of the killer are very high.”

”Regarding the identity of the killer, we shouldn’t rule out those who regularly engage in physical training, even fitness enthusiasts.”

”Well said!”

Mr. Bai nodded in appreciation, with a smile spreading across his face.

Regarding what Jiang An said, he had already realized it during the meeting.

It’s just that he hadn’t fully shared his thoughts during the meeting.

After a long time, Mr. Bai turned to look at Mr. Zhang.

”Mr. Zhang, your team has such outstanding talents.”

”I feel our visit here may not be of much significance.”
